Assessing Selected Indicators Using Statistical Methods
Konečný, Adam ; Novotná, Veronika (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with the financial analysis of economic indicators with the use of statistical methods in the company A studio group, spol. s r.o. The theoretical part focuses on the definitions of economic and statistical concepts, their meaning and use. The practical part is concerned with the analysis of the current state of the company in financial terms, by using statistical methods. The calculation I use to process proposals for improvement of the situation and for the future prosperity of the enterprise.
Statistical bulletin - Pilsen Region - 1st to 4th quarter 2016
Krajská správa ČSÚ v Plzni ; Oddělení informačních služeb a správy registrů
Regular information on the demographic, social and economic developments in the region and its districts (once a year in the administrative districts of municipalities with extended powers), prepared in the form of tables (also contains methodological explanations for individual chapters). The material is complemented by inter-county and cross-county comparisons and data across the Czech Republic.

Matrix Algebra in Statistics
Navrátil, František ; Kulich, Michal (advisor) ; Antoch, Jaromír (referee)
of the bachelor thesis Title: Matrix Algebra in Statistics Author: František Navrátil Department: Department of Probability and Mathematical Statistics Supervisor: Doc. Mgr. Michal Kulich Ph.D. Abstract: The thesis deals with the theory of matrix algrebra, which is applicable in probability and statistics. The aim of the thesis is to summarize it in a clear and understandable way, so that the student familiar with the basics of matrix theory can expand his knowledge and use it in further studies. Therefore, the thesis contains many definitions and proved theorems, and examples to help understanding the theory. Applications are mentioned. It also provides references for further reading. The thesis begins with a brief summary of basic definitions and results in matrix algebra, which are covered in the usual courses on linear algebra. Subsequent chapters are specific, inter alia, for probability and statistics - in particular, they focus on special types of matrices and their properties, important matrix decompositions, functions of matrices and matrix difierentiation. Keywords: matrix algebra, statistics, idempotent matrix, spectral decomposition, Kronecker product
Today's news
Jankovský, Petr ; Holan, Tomáš (advisor) ; Straňák, Pavel (referee)
The project deals with the design and implementation of the program based on frequency analysis of the text. The results should provide a quick overview about currently published articles in the newspapers. The program downloads the current articles from newspaper Web sites. For each of defined section and each article is able to list the most frequent n-tuple of words. There is option to define dictionary of uninteresting (banned) words and dictionary of phrases. Implementation solves some problems with downloading articles from various structure different servers, such as problems with encoding and problems with recognition articles from advertisement. The work reveals that simple frequency analysis can bring interesting results.
Evaluation of results using different methods of experimental measuring of blood pressure amongst students of the First Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University
Sova, Jan ; Kymplová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Jirsa, Jan (referee)
During the projects from biophysics of freshman students of the Faculty of Medicine the pressure measurement is run by several different methods; palpation, auscultatory and digital method. Students are learning to record the measurement in a systematic way, and they are learning to compare the results of every method to each other. The measurement of systolic and diastolic pressure are dependent on each other of course, as well they are dependent on the set of biometric and other information that is well available in healthy students (sex, height, weight, physical strain etc.). The aim of the thesis is to compare the results acquired by the methods of measurement mentioned above, related to the accuracy of the scattering of the measurement and related to the anticipated standard values of healthy individuals. The basis of the thesis is going to be project and creation of the regression model for the levels of systolic/diastolic pressure measured out that is dependent on biometric data along with the testing of statistical importance of parametres through the procedure of multifactorial ANOVA for the repeated measurement. The result will aim to show both advantages and disadvantages of different methods of the pressure measurement during accordingly varying conditions of experiments. The thesis...
The influence of environmental factors on amphibian assemblages
Kára, Martin ; Pivnička, Karel (advisor) ; Frouz, Jan (referee)
Like a large part of western Europe also from the Czech landscape is dramatically disappearing amphibians. This negative trend occurred due to several factors, some of which is undoubtedly the most significant loss of suitable breeding areas. During the years 2009 and 2010 I monitored a total of 31 tanks in a part of the former districts of Liberec, Jablonec nad Nisou and Semily, in which were multiplied frog (Rana temporaria) and toad (Bufo bufo). On these localities I've watched a few environment variables, which I assume that may affect the successful development of amphibians from egg stage to metamorphosis. The success of development, I determined by counting congeries in the spring and then finding the number of tadpoles in the tank survived the conversion. The results of multiple linear regression shows that the developmental stages of brown frog react negatively to the increasing altitude and increasing the number of eggs per unit area of the tank. On the contrary, they thrive better in larger, at least partially shaded tanks, which are subject to fluctuations in water level. For toad are suitable not very deep, partially shaded tanks, with a stable water level, vegetation and aquatic vegetation free shores. Also managed to find the eggs and tadpoles of toads react negatively to the...
