The phenomenon of the loft space in movies
Peťovský, Marek
The aim of the text is to present my research, summary and analysis of selected loft spaces. This task raises an effort to characterize the loft space, presenting its airiness, excitement or a new metaphysical side. This thesis is showing various ways, in which space functions in movies, such as the relationship with time and space, or just focusing on the loft space itself. The aim of this thesis is to discover the role of the architecture in a movie and how space can influence its characters. The thesis itself is devoted to the discussion on architecture, on how our houses and cities and landscapes are to be formed, it is closely bound up with reflections on how we want to live. In short, one’s view of architecture is one’s view of society. Architecture is not an isolated field; it relates to the surrounding society and our way of thinking and living. In this sense, architecture expresses both our capacity for civilization and our cultural identity. On this basis I consider to focus on the small scale, from the perspective of specific people’s lives. People who decided to live in a loft, which is not the same as losing sight of the big issues. When it comes to our dreams about our dwellings, we are all experts. Dwelling is a human relationship with the world. Before we can build we must be able to dwell, which means we must reflect over our being in the world. Dwelling is about space in the world. Space can be possessed, made and taken. It can be used, exploited, shared and transferred. A person without space is not present, not living anywhere, has no connection. Dwelling introduces something you can be a part of and manifest yourself in. To sum up, we believe that architecture, design and movies influence each other more than we can imagine.

Hyperspeed Reach - Audiovisual Performance
Kočišová, Lenka ; Vojtěchovský, Miloš (referee) ; Skočovský, Luděk (referee) ; Palla, Marian (referee) ; Ruller, Tomáš (advisor)
This dissertation thesis describes the phenomenon of audiovisual performance in different connotations. A substantial part is devoted to psychological survey into my own subconscious and subsequently to metaphorical processing of this introspection. An important part of the work is a resume of the general knowledge of the physical properties and its metaphorical application on mental and creative processes. This analysis and explanation of internal cognitive models are implemented in terms of the study of relationships, interactions based on cooperation or confrontation, but also the inability to grasp the objective reality from the subjective position due to the merged distinctions of real and fictional. The importance of audiovisual performance is also studied in linear perspective of history, in order to point out the general principle of repetition patterns, which reveals that audiovisual performances is an activity which is a necessary expression of life itself and not just the concept in the field of arts.

Organic architecture is often used term especially in connection with the daring and experimental form. The exact definition or division is still missing. The founder of modern organic architecture is to be generally considered as Frank Loyd Wright. Especially on the particular realizations in Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Austria, Germany and Poland. Beside detail description of European realizations, the dissertation deals also with foundations of organic architecture in U.S.A. and important realizations here. Modern organic architecture primarily originated in the United States of America. The work presents most important contemporary realizations and architects creating resident living organic architecture in other countries around the world in order to complete the overview. The objective of dissertation was describing newest trends in designing buildings for living. Find position of organic architecture and give reasons for it´s increasing popularity, spread and necessity for new development in architecture according to the new trends. Organic architecture is an alternative way of contemporary residential living. It´s popularity is growing in last years in response to the development of modern technologies and materials, the need to protect our natural resources and also to the increasing negatives of globalization and to denial of local traditions and regional specificities. Aspects of organic forms were divided into three main groups according to their main characteristics: form, harmony and sustainable development. Another objective was find location of contemporary organic residential architecture in Czech Republic and abroad. It is rather spread all over the world than concentrated on certain places. Therefore I selected countries that are richer than the others on the occurrence of organic buildings. The objective was also to address architects, specialists, public and especially university teachers of architecture and students themselves. Communication with them was mainly connected with grant project in 2010. The theme of grant project was contemporary organic architecture in residential living. There were lectures about contemporary organic architecture and exhibition on the theme: Contemporary living organic architecture. The publication of the catalog was published under the title: Contemporary organic houses - Europe. I had the opportunity to visit a number of organic family houses abroad.
