Supervisor's e-mail address: kurka@cts.cuni.cz Abstract: The thesis concerns itself with Möbius number systems. These systems represent points using sequences of Möbius transformations. We are mainly inter- ested in representing the unit circle (which is equivalent to representing R ∪ {∞}). The main aim of the thesis is to improve already known tools for proving that a given subshift-iterative system pair is in fact a Möbius number system. We also study the existence problem: How to describe iterative systems resp. subshifts for which there exists a subshift resp. iterative system such that the resulting pair forms a Möbius number system. While we were unable to provide a complete answer to this question, we present both positive and negative partial results. As Möbius number systems are also subshifts, we can ask when a given Möbius number system is sofic. We give this problem a short treatment at the end of our thesis. Railway track deformation measurement

This bachelor thesis is about measuring deformations on railway bridge in Znojmo. The horizontal and vertical changes of railway track on the bridge and newly renovated bridge construction were measured by using two independent methods, namely 3D polar method and kinematic GNSS Stop & Go method. The assessment of the longitudinal shifts depending on atmospheric conditions especially the temperature changes is an essential goal of this work. Another key aim is the determination of precision of both independ-ent measuring methods.

Determination of rock blocks movements

The subject of the diploma thesis is monitoring of rocks blocks movements near sinking stream Bílá voda situated near the village Holštejn in Moravian Karst. The aim of thesis is to measure of the 21th stage and 22th stage in year 2017. The thesis follows on the results obtained in years 2004-2015. Achieved results are mutually compared and analysed towards the results of previous stages. The final results are shown numerically and graphically

Geodetic monitoring of the tubosider in Liberec under the ski slope F10

This thesis describes a geodetic monitoring of a deformed steel structure tubosider in Liberec. There have been made periodic measurements of displacements and deformations of the object since 2015. Various interventions have been made in order to ensure a stability of the tunnel, which are also evaluated in this thesis. The results are graphs that describes shifts of the highest points in the tunnel. These values are further used by structural engineers and architects to suggest a solution.

Explicitness and explicitationin Translation

This diploma thesis deals with explicitness and semantic explicitations in translation. Its goal is to confirm or disprove the explicitation hypothesis of S. Blum-Kulka, according to which translated texts are more explicit than their originals, regardless of the language of translation. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of explicitness and explicitation, presents explicitation from the point of view of terminology, translation universals, the cognitive process of translating and the contribution of corpus linguistics to the research of different forms of explicitation. The theoretical part also contains division of explicitation into different types and its classification among other translation procedures. The empirical part is based on a detailed analysis of excerpts obtained from French and Czech belletristic originals and their translations through which the semantic explicitations are researched. The analysis is concluded by a summary of all obtained results and by their confrontation with the explicitation hypothesis.

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to translate Chapter 10 - Mirror Worlds - from George Basalla's book Civilized Life in the Universe: Scientists on Intelligent Extraterrestrials. This thesis includes the translation and the source text, as well as a commentary on the translation. The commentary theoretically reflects the translation process and is divided into four parts. The first part contains an analysis of the source text and potential translation problems. The second part describes the selected translation method and also comments on the differences between the source and the target communication situation. The third part comprises typology and solution to the translation problems. The fourth part describes the shifts that have been made in the course of the translation process. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to translate a part of the first chapter from James Twitchell's The Living Dead: A Study of the Vampire in Romantic Literature (subchapters The Vampire in Folklore, The Influence of Christianity and Other Influences) published in Durham in 1981, and to describe the whole process. The thesis includes three parts: the translation of the source text, the commentary and attachments, which include the source text, a questionnaire used to assess specialized knowledge of recipients, and a chart summarizing its results. The commentary includes four parts. The first one contains a source text analysis. The second one describes the communication situation of the translation and the method of translation. Testing images creation program with defined sub-pixel shift and resize precision

Tato práce se zabývá generování testovacích sub-pixelově posunutých obrazu se známým posuvem. Ty umožní najít vhodné parametry váhové funkce, díky nimž se zpřesní hledání posuvu dvou obrazu. Dále je využito konvoluce s proměnným jádrem ke generování obrazu se změněným měřítkem. K definici konvoluce pro obraz využíváme Fourierovu transformaci. Práce zahrnuje všechnu potřebnou teorii a je přiložen program, který slouží ke generování posunutých obrazů a obrazů se změněným měřítkem.

The object of this bachelor thesis is to translate the first chapter called A history of seduction from Mark Tungate's Fashion brands: branding style from Armani to Zara and to describe theoretically the process. The thesis is comprised of three fundamental parts - translation, commentary and the attached source text. The commentary is divided into four parts. The first one contains an analysis of the source text for the purpose of translation, the second part describes the selected translation method and the relation between the translated text and the original communication situation. The third part of the commentary comprises typology of the problems that occurred during the process of translation and the last part describes the necessary shifts that have been made in the translation.
