Hausdorff dimension of the lightning
Kočendová, Alžběta ; Druckmüller, Miloslav (referee) ; Hoderová, Jana (advisor)
In this thesis, the theory related to the Hausdorff dimension is described. The Hausdorff dimension is used to describe the fragmentation of a fractal. Fractals include many natural objects and phenomena. One such phenomenon is lightning, which is the focus of this work. This work involves the development of a MATLAB program to detect lightning in an image and then calculate the Hausdorff dimension of this lightning.
Bellman's Lost in a Forest Problem and Its Analysis
Haviger, Vojtěch ; Hoderová, Jana (referee) ; Čermák, Jan (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the Bellman’s problem of searching for the shortest escape path from the planar, closed and convex set with a nonempty interior. After introduction of some notions needed to understand and solve the problem, the thesis deals with discusions of the shortest escape paths for considered shapes of the given set (circular disc, circular sector, infinite strip, rectangle, regular polygon, triangle, half-plane, circle). Finally, the obtained results are summarized, and extended by some open problems.
Numerical methods for the analysis of light polarization in the solar corona
Gajdůšková, Kateřina ; Štarha, Pavel (referee) ; Hoderová, Jana (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the analysis of polarization of light in the solar corona. Photographs taken during a total solar eclipse are processed using software Matlab and the Image Processing Toolbox package. The main objective is to determine the polarized and unpolarized part of the light in the solar corona.
Tree trunk detection and recognition in images
Šalomon, Filip ; Hoderová, Jana (referee) ; Procházková, Jana (advisor)
This thesis deals with detection of circular shapes in images -- forest scan cross-sections. Freeman chain code algorithm is used for image segmentation. Ransac (Random Sample Consensus) algorithm is used for diameter measurement. The designed algorithm is tested on data from Žofín Forest.
Algorithm ICP and its usage for 3D registration
Fiala, Zdeněk ; Hoderová, Jana (referee) ; Procházková, Jana (advisor)
This thesis deals with the ICP algorithm used for point cloud registration. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part summarizes the basic concepts needed for the topic. The second part describes the basic ICP algorithm and its improvements. The last section contains the implementation of the algorithm in the C# programming language and the results of testing on real data.
Analysis of Some Evasion and Pursuit Strategies
Barusová, Ema ; Hoderová, Jana (referee) ; Čermák, Jan (advisor)
The main objective of this bachelor's thesis is an analysis of chosen pursuit and evasion problems. It puts great emphasis on formulation of the mathematical model followed by its analysis, which usually leads to an analytical solution.
Image quality analysis using Fourier transform
Tkadlecová, Markéta ; Druckmüller, Miloslav (referee) ; Hoderová, Jana (advisor)
This thesis deals with two-dimensional Fourier transform and its use in digital image quality assessment. An algorithm based on amplitude spectra is introduced and tested on different sets of images. Its possible use and disadvantages are described. For understanding the basics of the algorithm the fundamental mathematical theory is included. Mainly the properties of amplitude spectra are explained. Next, the theory of digital images and their characteristics, which can affect their quality, is described. For testing the quality of the image the demonstrative program has been developed.
Numerical methods of image processing from NASA's SDO space probe
Object translation detection by phase correlation
Bureš, Jiří ; Martišek, Dalibor (referee) ; Hoderová, Jana (advisor)
This thesis discusses the detection of two similar shifted images by using phase correlation. The required mathematical bases (Fourier transform, window function and phase correlation) are properly defined and demonstrated in the relevant figures. A described algorithm of registration is applied on the sample picture.
Detection of image rotation and scaling differences using phase correlation
Meduňa, Tomáš ; Druckmüller, Miloslav (referee) ; Hoderová, Jana (advisor)
This thesis deals with detection of rotation and scaling differences between two similar images by using phase correlation. Necessary mathematical basis such as Fourier transform and its properties is described and demonstrated on examples. Obtained algorithm was used to create an illustrative application.
