This bachelor thesis deals with the virtual commissioning of a robotic system. This system is located in the premises of the Institute of Production Machines, Systems and Robotics of Brno University of Technology. Virtual commissioning has become an indispensable component in the creation of automated workplaces in recent years. It has an impact on reducing costs and downtime in production. The thesis contains a theoretical part, which is devoted to the research of topics related to virtual commissioning. This is put into a broader context with the concept of Industry 4.0. This is followed by a description of the parts of the robotic system and a description of the operations to be performed by the system. The practical part is devoted to a description of the creation of a simulation model in the RobotStudio software. This is followed by the last part, which introduces the creation of educational materials. These materials are text files containing a detailed procedure for working with RobotStudio. The output of this work is the virtual commissioning and creation of the tutorial materials.
Application of "SIL" integrated circuits for pressure vessel filling
Červený, Patrik ; Steklý, Jakub (referee) ; Štohl, Radek (advisor)
The thesis focuses on the application of process safety according to SIL for pressure vessel filling in the energy industry specifically in a petrochemical plant for oil processing. The thesis includes a brief research of IEC 61511 and IEC 61508 standards that are used here, definition of pressure vessel, SIL analysis procedures, HAZOP hazard and operability study, process simulation in TIA portal and developed an application for error generation in C# using S7.Net library. The application generates faults that may commonly occur in operation and the process simulation responds in a safe manner. A HAZOP and SIL analysis of the process was performed in collaboration with McDermott and the results were summarized. Subsequently, a process simulation with applied protection was created.
Semiautomatic crimping machine
Nosek, Jakub ; Stibor, Karel (referee) ; Štohl, Radek (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design, creation and testing of a new automated machine for the production of ureteral catheters for a company producing medical equipment. The work is a continuation of the diploma thesis of a student of the College of Polytechnics Jihlava, whose work only concerned the design of the mechanical part of the machine and the analysis of the actual manual production process.
An Innovative Control System for Water Supply Management at a Farm
Doležal, Aleš ; Sýkora, Tomáš (referee) ; Jirgl, Miroslav (advisor)
The thesis deals with the implementation of an innovative control system for the management and supply of water to the farm. For the innovation, fiber optic communication between the main switchboard and the poles at the wells was chosen. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the selection of components and sensors for the implementation of the system. The program that controls the whole application is written in ladder language in a development environment from Unitronics, from which the control PLC is also supplied.
Identification of industrial devices
Šotola, Bohuslav ; Blažek, Petr (referee) ; Pospíšil, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis, titled Identification of Industrial Devices, deals with the use of machine learning for the passive identification of exclusively programmable logic controllers (PLCs) from Siemens, communicating via network traffic. The identification is performed to obtain information about vulnerabilities in the devices currently in use. The motivation for introducing identification in the industry is to minimize the likelihood of attacks and thus reduce losses in production. Datasets in the field of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) are created for targeted device identification within 5 minutes of capturing network traffic. These datasets are statistically processed to find input parameters showing independence from topology and time. The statistically processed parameters are then subjected to machine learning models. If they are found to be sufficiently independent, the idea is verified on independent data not related to previous ones. In identification, there is also an attempt to utilize network transmission parameters that are independent of the PLC device manufacturer. Identification of PLC devices is possible, with the ideal use of the older version of the proprietary S7 protocol, as it allows identification within 5 minutes of capturing traffic. Identification based on the older version of the protocol is also relevant because it is used in practice. An obstacle to capturing traffic for identification is the fact that potential users often need appropriate permissions. Firmware updates must be taken into account, providing new data security features.
Visualization of the production line by FactoryTalk Optix
Sýkora, Ondřej ; Knobloch, Tomáš (referee) ; Štohl, Radek (advisor)
This thesis is focused on creating a visualization in the new FactoryTalk Optix environment for the Automatic Bartender and Coaster Press machines. The first part is dedicated to the general rules of HMI visualization, the main concepts are based on the ANSI/ISA-101.01.-2015 standard. The second part is devoted to the analysis of visualization tools and software and their comparison and assessment of suitability of use for Allen-Bradley PLC. The final work is devoted to the design and implementation of visualization in the FactoryTalk Optix environment. In the fifth part, changes to machines, PC and PLC programs are analyzed. Also mentioned here is the superior FactoryTalk Batch control tool and how the visualization and editing of the PLC program is prepared for it. The last part is dedicated to editing the user manual.
HMI for a 3D milling machine using FactoryTalk Optix
Uher, Adam ; Foukal, Roman (referee) ; Štohl, Radek (advisor)
The thesis focuses on the design and implementation of an HMI (Human Machine Interface) for 3D milling machine. Basic visualization rules, best practises, principles of ergonomic design, and the creation of user interfaces are described. Visualization tools for the LOGIX PLC series are outlined, which can be utilized in HMI development. Following the guidelines and specified requirements in this paper, a design for HMI is created using the FactoryTalk Optix visualization tool. Changes to the functional safety and PLC program are identified and implemented. Subsequently, the visualization of the milling machine is carried out and the functions of the new system are subjected to testing.
Standard faceplate for WinCC Unified
Nepivoda, Tomáš ; Arm, Jakub (referee) ; Benešl, Tomáš (advisor)
The topic of this thesis originated from the requirements of Mechatronic Design & Solutions. Its primary goal is the transition to the visualization software SIMATIC WinCC Unified, focusing on the time efficiency of creating visualization applications. This work addresses the issue of automatic screen generation based on control software developed for Siemens PLC machines. The process of automatic screen generation itself involves several intermediate stages and complex steps. The thesis focuses on creating a theoretical foundation in the field of operator panels, the relevant standards for their creation, and descriptions of the software utilized. The practical part is dedicated to the development of company standards and the implementation of complex and universal functional blocks, for which separate service screens are created. The final section is devoted to the actual implementation of automatic generation in connection with the developed PLC program and the created HMI Screens.
Automation of test containers for valve testing
Dražil, Jan ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design and implementation of a control algorithm for the test units used for testing valves used by the European Space Agency (ESA). The three types of valves to be tested are FMV, RV, TV. The medium for FMV and RV tests is compressed air. The tests on the TV branch are performed with water.
Implementation of Communication Technology complying IEC 61850 as the Demonstrational DCS System
Kozák, Ondřej ; Arm, Jakub (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the issue of communication of protection by IEC 61850 standard and reading, control and visualization of protections by DCS systém 800xA and PLC AC500 from ABB and extended visualization by cloud service Grafana. The IEC 61850 standard, its protocols anad the topologies used have been descibed in this work. Furthermore, the basic functions of the instruments used were described. The main part describes the procedure of creating SCD file for communication configuration and subsequent uploading to individual systems, creating visualization in DCS 800xA system, setting up communication between protection devices and reading from them using AC 500 PLC. For the cloud service there is a description of the implementation of the MQTT broker for sending data between PLC and database Influxdb that stores the data and forwards it to Grafana visualization environment.
