Data path definition in software defined networks
Zima, Jan
This thesis is concerned with visualization of OpenFlow-based software-defined networks, and definition of arbitrary traffic paths. For this purpose, an application called Visdan has been developed. It provides a visualization of the connected network, and allows the user to define custom traffic paths in the network using the graphical visualization. This work provides a broad explanation of OpenFlow-based networks and may serve as an introduction into software-defined networking. Visdan is an example of one of the approaches to programming applications for such networks.
Network Traffic Generator for Testing of Packet Classification Algorithms
SDN for cloud computing
Kuklovský, Adam ; Frolka, Jakub (referee) ; Slavíček, Karel (advisor)
The theme of this bachelor work is SDN technology. It consists of both practical and theoretical part. In theory section, we described the main concept of the SDN network, functioning of OpenFlow protocol, comparison of individual open source SDN controllers and real onset of SDN technology. Practical section contains procedure of individual components being installed to create topology and to forward realization of laboratory task. The laboratory work also depicts the way of creation and modification of streams in the SDN network.
SDN in LAN networks
Kříž, Daniel ; Hošek, Jiří (referee) ; Slavíček, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is devoted to the problem of Software Defined Networks. It describes the concept of SDN, the OpenFlow protocol, which is an integral part of this issue, and lastly is mentioned the concept of NFV. The goal is to research this issue, gather information about the available open source controllers and choose the most suitable ones. Furthermore, a proposal for the implementation of the laboratory task and a~list of available components have to be created. The final task is to construct and test laboratory task and then with help of this knowledge create laboratory manual.
Design and implementation of network collector
Bošeľa, Jaroslav ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Oujezský, Václav (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with description of information protocol of network flow, mainly definition of Cisco NetFlow version 9. Describes it’s features, message format and attributes of transmitted data. The thesis is primarly focused onto NetFlow v9 transmitted template, which defines fileds and data in consecutive data flow. The essence of the thesis consists in implementation of simple NetFlow v9 parser, which has been programmed in Python prog.language, it’s tests of captured UDP data from file and port capture testing on development server in lab. There is a possibility of saving captured and parsed data into prepared database within implementation as output from capturing.
Remote Configuration of P4 Device
Neruda, Jakub ; Kučera, Jan (referee) ; Wrona, Jan (advisor)
Administration of a large network from a central node with a vendor independent API is quite important issue these days. The concept of SDN was truly helpful with realization of the solution, namely in the form of the OpenFlow protocol. Nowadays, a P4 language is gaining momentum, primarily thanks to its ability to describe whole packet processing pipeline and also for the P4 Runtime, solution to the distributed network configuration. CESNET association is one of the research groups starting to support P4 in their network cards beloging to the Combo series. In this work, an API was designed for these cards, aimed at the dynamic flow table configuration. This API was used for implementation of a basic support of the Combo cards in the P4 Runtime.
Optical software defined networks
Janoušek, Adam ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Vojtěch, Josef (advisor)
The bacherol thesis „Optical SDN“ deals with the analysis of software-defined technology networks on the optical switch. Specifically, it focuses on remote manual switching and automatic switching based on surroundings. The aim of the thesis is description of technology, understanding the principle of software-defined networks, including the implementation of demostrative manual remote switching and automatic switching.
Virtual network topology design based on software defined networks
Moravcová, Klára ; Slavíček, Karel (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
This Diploma thesis deals with virtualization of data networks, but mainly with concept of software-defined networking. Architecture, security risks and differences besides traditional networks are described within SDN framework. Description includes protocol OpenFlow, which is integral part of SDN concept. Brief summary mentions also NFV concept. The goal of this thesis is to determine available solutions, invent laboratory task and compile laboratory manual. Tables with currently available controllers and commutators for SDN were created and pattern of laboratoral task was realized within Mininet emulator and OpenDaylight controller. Laboratoral task itself is designed with aim to apprize students of subject of Network architecture with SDN concept and its real implementation.
Simulation of SDN network
Vrablic, Pavol ; Novotný, Vít (referee) ; Novotný, Bohumil (advisor)
The main aim of this work is to become familiar with the technology of software-defined networks and learn to use some of the tools to measure and simulate these networks.
Mitigation of Volumetric DDoS Attacks in SDN Environment
Hodes, Vojtěch ; Křepelka, Václav (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The aim of this Master's thesis is to explore different attitudes and to design various monitoring and detection concepts of volumetric DDoS attacks in core networks. The thesis deals with data flow control protocols with an emphasis on a modern technology of Software Defined Networks. The last part of the thesis describes verification of the theory by setting up a laboratory environment for volumetric DDoS UDP Flood simulation, detection and automated mitigation.
