Alternative and augmentative communication for adults with combined disabilities

The master thesis deals with alternative and augmentative communication for adults with combined disabilities. It defines the theoretical foundations of disability, more specifically combined disability. It also describes the communication of people with combined disabilities and explains concepts such as communication, impaired communication skills or speech therapy intervention for people with combined disabilities. Its disadvantages relate more to alternative and augmentative communication, in which it describes in more detail the methods and systems, diagnostic aspects, training of use or its advantages and benefits. The main purpose of this work is to describe the use of alternative and augmentative communication in the everyday life of adults with combined disabilities, especially in everyday activities and also in the possibility of expressing their needs and feelings. The research survey took place in two phases, in the first phase case studies of adults with combined disabilities were prepared and in the second phase participatory observation and direct work with individual persons was carried out. At the end of the work, the benefits of alternative and augmentative communication in adults with combined disabilities are characterized.
Special educational support for children with multiple disabilities in preschool

Annotation: Specifically pedagogical support of the child with developmental dysphasia and visual impairment in pre- school age Bachelor thesis deals with the special educational support of the child with developmental dysphasia and visual disabilities integrated in pre-school. The aim of the work was to monitor the progress of the integration of this child, the development of its capabilities, describe the specifics of the pedagogical approach, the interaction of the surroundings of the child with a problematic verbal manifestation, the adoption of an integrated child in the classroom the other children and teachers and to record any change in the climate in the team. I also watched the potential risks, which may in the integration to occur. The submitted work is in the theoretical part, consisting of a summary of the findings on the development dysphasia, the visual and the combined disability. Further it introduce into the topic of care and education of a child with disabilities and integration into the school facilities, with a focus on the integration of pre-school age, including the individual education plan and assistant teacher. Sense of physiotherapy techniques in the educational process of rehabilitation classes

The subject of this work is to investigate the educational activities in special classes of an elementary school for pupils with severe multiple disabilities, and particularly the involvement of elements of medical rehabilitation, used by a special pedagogue. In the theoretical part of the work an environment of rehabilitation classes is introduced, an educational process, that takes place here, and its specifics. Furthermore, basic methods used by the physiotherapists, while working with children with multiple disabilities, are outlined in here. The aim of this work is to specify mainly the particular possibilities of rehabilitation techniques and their effects in the educational process by a pedagogue without physiotherapy education. A casuistry of a specific student, who uses these kinds of techniques for her education, was processed as a part of this work. Particular methods and results attained through 1.5 year span are developed into a legible spreadsheet. The theoretical basis and practical findings showed that the involvement of rehabilitation techniques into the education of students with severe disabilities is not only beneficial, but even necessary to achieve positive results.
Methodology development of the olfactory perception of children with visual and multiple disabilities

This thesis deals with importance of olfactory perception and possibilities of its development between the children with visual and multiple disabilities. It provides basic information about anatomy and physiology of olfaction, about processing of olfactory stimuli and about the importance of smell for children with visual and multiple disabilities. The main attention is focused on possibilities of olfactory perception development in the Czech Republic, which is presented by a comprehensive summary of the products available on the Czech market. It also deals with the development of the olfactory perception at the School of Jaroslav Ježek.

PaedDr. Jiřina Klenková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The aim is to analyze the issue of communication skills in relation to combined disability in children educated in kindergarten. The theoretical approach will work on the theory of ontogenetic development of speech, impaired speech development, pre-school age, and disability characteristics of the combined fault diagnosis and therapy, an overview of communication disorders. The practical part will focus on theory and knowledge gained in practice. The work will build on preliminary research, which will be built on an empirical method of an interview with the parents of disadvantaged children, analysis of technical documents and pedagogical diagnostics of the children themselves. For original research, methods of observation will be used, developing case studies as well as individual and group work according to the IEP, the final diagnostics of the education and comparative method, which is measured against the initial and final state of developmental speech in the child. Stimulation of people with physical and multiple disabilities - using the TheraSuit Method

The thesis entitled "Stimulation of people with physical and multiple disabilities - using the TheraSuit Method" focuses on the using of different stimulation methods in the care of people with physical and multiple disabilities and is aimed in particular mentioned method TheraSuit and its modifications (Klim-Therapy) whose main element is a special support suit. In the Czech Republic, this method has been used for relatively short time. It is a little widespread, especially due to financial demands. The clients have to pay the therapy almost themselves. Therefore, the thesis aims to gather available information about the method using special support suit. Another objective is to obtain a quantitative overview of the research on the awareness and attitudes of adult clients of selected institutions for people with physical and multiple disabilities, their parents of children with physical and multiple disabilities and staff who work with these people, to discuss methods and new methods of stimulation at all. The thesis also focuses on other stimulation methods used in selected institutions providing services to peoples with physical and multiple disabilities.
Use of basal stimulation in pre-school education

A dissertation "Use of basal stimulation in preschool education" has the aim to confirm a positive influence of the basal stimulation concept on upbringing and education of children with multiple disabilities in a special kindergarten. A theoretical part gives you a brief characteristic on the topic of multiple disabilities and cerebral palsy (CP). It brings you a view of the development of children with disabilities in the preschool period. A crucial part is dedicated to the basal stimulation concept as well as its basic and superstructural elements and biographical anamnesis. A research project presents the case studies and shows the use of the concept at particular work. It evaluates and confirms the positive influence of stimulation on children and presents a recommendation for pedagogical practice. Adult with a visual handicap in an institutional facility - a case study

Bachelor thesis is conceived as a case study, that depicts the life and development of the client from the Integrated Social Service Centre Odlochovice. The tex is devoted to the visual and mental disability in the interaction between each other. It further describes the social services for people with disabilities and two specific devices that provide these services. The next part deals with the client itself, its development in the city, the environment in which he lives and the services they use. At conclusion of the thesis are recommended mobility aids, which would facilitate the client to partially compensate for the absence of vision.The aim of this thesis is to propose appropriate compensatory aids and determine whether the Integrated Social Service Centre Odlochovice is able to provide adequate special educational care and support for persons with visual disabilities.
