The use of EEG in assessing the emotional state of a person
Strakoš, Libor ; Mézl, Martin (referee) ; Potočňák, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis is focused on EEG processing and emotion classification within two-dimensional emotion space. First part consists of theoretical research about emotional responses of human subjects on sound, image and video stimuli. Emotions are examined from aspect of physiology and psychology. Furthermore technical overview of measurement, analysis and emotion classification within two-dimensional emotional space is discussed. Based on gathered knowledge measurement setup with audiovisual stimuli was designed and measured with two independent instruments – EGI GES400MR in laboratory conditions and Emotiv EPOC device in non-laboratory conditions. Signals were processed and emotions were classified based on chosen features. Performance of classifiers in multiple feature selection setups was evaluated.
Demotikons
Ponomarevová, Denisa ; Sýkorová,, Lenka (referee) ; Mikyta, Svätopluk (advisor)
The bachelor thesis entitled Demotikons is a guide to the hypothetical and personal symbolism of digital space and internet communication. I refer to the well-known system of emoticons (emoji), reaction buttons, and simplified forms or signs found on web browsers, social networks, and the digital interfaces of our electronic devices. I deconstruct their meaning with my own attributes and place them in new forms and relationships. The drawings make micro-references to established "visual codes" in digital space, from email address signs to graphic icons and visual indicators in user interfaces. The output of this project becomes an installation comprising a series of drawings and objects that convey personal interpretations of the intersection of the digital (online) world with the physical (offline) world.
Response of biological signals during acoustic and optical stimulation
Strakoš, Libor ; Chmelař, Milan (referee) ; Bubník, Karel (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is recording and evaluating of biological signals connected with autonomic nervous system. Changes in signals are caused by optical and acoustical stimuli. These stimuli are pictures of different meaning. Colors, basic symbols and neutral pictures with variance in colorization are included. Acoustic stimulation is provided by short startle stimulus of white noise sound impulse. Changes in signals are statistically and subjectively evaluated as changes in emotional state of tested person. Tested people fill in a questionnaire about their feelings. Results of signal processing and questionnaire are compared at the end.
Agent Process Model of Human Cognition, Emotions and Behaviour
Pač, Peter ; Zbořil, František (referee) ; Kubát, David (advisor)
This work deals with modeling of the human psyche and its cognitive processes, emotions and behaviors based on agent system. The first objective of this examines the issue from the perspective of general psychology and intelligent systems. The work discusses in detail the design model of the human psyche with definitions of agents system and design of simulation environment. The special part is devoted to the design of the neural network system. After description of implementation of the model and simulation environment, finally, the work show results of experiments with the implemented system from the perspective of conformity with psychological theories and benefits to artificial intelligence.
Social Network Analysis using methods of pattern recognition
Križan, Viliam ; Burget, Radim (referee) ; Atassi, Hicham (advisor)
Diplomová práca sa zaoberá rozpoznávaním emócií z textu v sociálnych sieťach. Práca popisuje súčasné metódy extrakcie príznakov, používané lexikóny, korpusy a klasifikátory. Emócie boli rozpoznávané na základe klasifikátoru, netrénovaného na anotovaných dátach z mikroblogovacej siete Twitter. Výhodou použitia služby Twitter, bolo geografické vymedzenie dát, ktoré umožňuje sledovanie zmien emócií populácie v rôznych mestách. Prvým prístupom klasifikácie bolo vytvorenie Baseline algoritmu, ktorý používal jednoduchý lexikón. Pre zlepšenie klasifikácie sme v druhom bode použili komplexnejší SVM klasifikátor. SVM klasifikátory, extrakcie a selekcie príznakov boli použité z dostupnej Python knižnice Scikit.
SW support for emotional state analysis
Lněnička, Jakub ; Míča, Ivan (referee) ; Smékal, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of my bachelor work is the description of SW tool with the graphic interface which can be made use of for the purpose of developing the multimodal emotional databases. In its beginning my work deals with the description of the parts of the human body that produce voice (vocal cords) and their functioning. The text is a description of the procedure of transferring the human voice into the digital form where a special attention is paid to the parameters of the speech signal with the emphasis on the description of the symptoms that serve to the purpose of defining the chosen emotions. This work deals with the categorization of emotions and the description of some of them. In the closing part the K-NN classificator is described that serves to the recognition of the individual feelings by means of a produced software.
Emo Weather
Drštičková, Hana ; Šlesingerová,, Eva (referee) ; Sterec, Pavel (advisor)
The artwork was created by linking two thematic areas, mental health and atmospheric phenomena aka weather. I am examining forms of alienation and emotional numbness, which I follow by thematizing the isolation of people from the external environment and manifestations of local weather. I touch upon the topics of current weather representations, such as meteorological satellite images, and last but not least, I contemplate the fact of climate crisis. The work takes the form of a 100-minute long video, a set of 21 paintings by aniline colors on paper, sound track played in a loop and additional literature, texts and sketches available for public.
Computer Games and the Human Brain
Dále poukazuje na genderové rozdíly v průmyslu počítačových her a ukazuje preference respondentů, které by mohly developerům umožnit zdokonalit kvalitu počítačových her.
The Technology of Subtitles in Films and other Media
