Němec, Radek ; Vacek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Matoušek, Petr (referee)
Background: Treatment of addiction during the period of abstinence from the primary drug is often complicated by the development of secondary addiction. Understanding the recurring pattern of behavior of such an addicted individual on a theoretical level supports a unified theory of addiction and from a practical point of view can represent effective help and hope for addicts. The shift of addiction from one behavior addiction to another one is not yet theoretically sufficiently described. Aims: The aim of the research is to describe the development of secondary addiction in the period of abstinence from the user's point of view. Whether and under what circumstances he perceives the onset of addictive behavior. What are the causes of development and how similar is the onset of behavior with the primary diagnosed addiction. Methods: This is a case study of a single purposefully selected person who developed secondary addiction after overcoming primary addiction. The data were created by a narrative unstructured interview (life story), systematized and subsequently interpreted according to the available professional literature. Results: The Thesis mapped the use of respondent development of their addictive behavior, which begins after abstinence. The results lead to professional knowledge in the...
Spirituality of abstaining drug users
Liďák, Jan ; Vacek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Zachová, Kateřina (referee)
The thesis deals with relationship between spirituality and abstaining drug users, focusing mainly on the level of emotional experience. Lot of this work is based mainly on authors Vojtíšek and Říčan as I try to determine the term spirituality compared to terms resembling it such as religiosity and religion. In addition to this I am drawing from research studying relationship of spirituality, health, and addiction. As a background I am using the bio-psycho-social-spiritual model of addiction and assumption that spirituality was during the time, person used drugs, suppressed and suffering. We can see this assumption in many theories by Czech and foreign authors too. My main aim is to understand the experience of spirituality of drug ex-users given their drug career, recovery, and abstinence. Research questions are aiming at experiencing spirituality at a time most of the research participants are in Follow-up treatment programme and how were they experiencing spirituality during rehab and during the times they were still using drugs and going through addiction. What kind of meaning spirituality has in clients' life without drugs in one of the main focuses of this work. The data were conducted through qualitative research using a semi-structured interview with five clients of Follow-up centers and...

Furthermore, a relationship between gender and educational information was found; women are taught about abstinence more than men, 37% of women did not know about other methods of contraception except the abstinence. While the relationship between religiosity and sexual awareness is not relevant. The research also shows that most of the respondents (98%) are confident about their decisions on sexuality matters. and have a strong opinion on their sexual behaviour.

Täubnerová, Pavlína ; Matoušek, Petr (advisor) ; Svěcená, Kateřina (referee)
Background: Mental hospitals fall under the state medical sector, where treatment programmes are the same for several decades. Although they have undergone some changes, their essence is unchanged and largely based on the established concept by doc. Jaroslav Skála. However, the society has changed since its inception and the requirements of the current generation of adictological patients, treated in the medium-term constitutional treatment, have changed too. Aims: The work aims to find out how current patients - men, with alcohol addiction syndrome, evaluate the programme of mid-term constitutional treatment ongoing in the segregation of mental hospitals ' addiction. This is also mapping justification of those elements of the programme which patients perceive as beneficial and which are unsatisfactory. The research includes three mental hospitals - Kosmonosy (PNK), Bohnice (PNB) and Červený Dvůr (PLČD). Methodology: The concept of work is based on a qualitative research methodology. Data were collected by an in-depth interview method, conducted in a non-prescriptive form, based on four open questions. The obtained data were processed by the approach of the enshrined theory. At the end of the process, the open talks revealed five categories (therapeutic program; rules and regime; community;...
Hagiotherapy and its benefits from the point of view of women who underwent alcohol addiction treatment in the Psychiatric Hospital Bohnice and are now abstaining
Miklasová, Iveta ; Remeš, Prokop (advisor) ; Vacek, Jaroslav (referee)
The topic of my bachelor thesis is Hagiotherapy and its benefits regarded by women who underwent institutional alcohol addiction treatment in Psychiatric hospital Bohnice and who abstain now. Hagiotherapy is a psychotherapeutic method, its name comes from Greek "therapeia" - care, treatment and "hagios" - saint, pure, holy. Hagiotherapy is a form of bibliotherapy which uses Holy Scripture as a mirror. Unlike the speech-based therapy ordinarily used among psychological means it carries a strong expressive context consisting in parallels from chosen biblical stories and the therapy is also based on the therapist himself who uses those stories and appropriate situational rituals. The aim of my thesis is to find the possible benefits of hagiotherapy for alcohol addicted women during their institutional treatment and our aim is to determine whether the women consider the method beneficial and effective in relation to their life in abstinence. In the theoretical part we first clarify some basic terms connected with addiction and its treatment. Then we treat therapeutic methods in alcohol addiction treatment, including hagiotherapy, which makes part of the process of treating alcohol addicted women in Psychiatric hospital Bohnice for a quarter century. The practical part describes the research process....
