WiMAX Physical Layer
Víteček, Petr ; Prokopec, Jan (referee) ; Miloš, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with 4G communication system WiMAX and his model of physical layer in MATLAB in uplink direction. In individual parts of this thesis we will have closer look on WiMAX, multiple access scheme OFDMA and OFDM modulation. Further, the physical layer signal processing and as last the model of physical layer in MATLAB. Result of this thesis should be model of physical layer , which will be together with model of radio environment used to calculate graphs of BER depending on S/N ratio. The model should show how is BER affected by different parts of model such as used modulation, code rate of FEC code and used type of interleaving.
WiMAX Network Education Tool
Bláha, Dominik ; Ráb, Jaroslav (referee) ; Ščuglík, František (advisor)
The scope of this thesis are basic principles of WiMAX technology and also the IEEE 802.16 standard. It describes essential techniques speci ed in this standard on physical and also on link layer of ISO/OSI network model. There is also one chapter that gives insight into comparison between LTE and WiMAX 1.5. Another chapter introduces us the situation of WiMAX in the USA, in the Russia and also in the Czech Republic. There is an Flash animation attached that depicts these principles.
Simulator for Passive Multi-Static Radar using WiFi/WiMAX
Sládek, Ondřej ; Kubíček, Michal (referee) ; Šebesta, Jiří (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the concept of passive multistatic radar. The radar system exploits WiFi or WiMAX transmitters as the source of radiolocation signal. The transmitters are considered non-cooperative. The master’s thesis evaluates limitations arising from utilization of WiFi or WiMAX signals. A Matlab simulator was created as a part of the thesis, which was used to verify the basic idea behind this concept. Based on the results of real-life simulations, conclusions are suggested towards a possible application of WiFi/WiMAX radar.
Minimizing the effect of interference on wireless network
Doležal, Jan ; Kyselák, Martin (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
This thesis is concerned the technology with technologies of transfer through wireless devices. It is about possibilities of optimization of transfer in wireless net, especially of the reduction of interference influence. The first part is about theory and the standards development of wireless technology. There are methods and principles used in wireless technologies. The second part is a practical measuring and testing of an internal wireless net, with the emphasis being on the source of interference influence. Measuring was focused on interference between access points and was not about meteorological influence. It continues with theory and testing of interference of the microwave oven in our wireless net. Then, it is a practical demonstration of interference in an external environment. There are practical examples of interference between different providers’ nets on the same area and solutions to prevent or to cancel this interference. In next part of work the wireless net is parsed and described in a given territory. Here is described the way how to precede the reciprocal interference and eventually how this mutual disturbance suppress. Consequently, our net is optimized for customer growth and for today’s options of newer and more powerful components for wireless transfer. Finally there are two laboratory tasks. The first one is about practical measuring and testing of wireless net’s parameters and the second one is about simulation of wireless networks in the Opnet program.
Low power, high date rate wireless technology
Bureš, David ; Kejík, Petr (referee) ; Hanus, Stanislav (advisor)
Introduction to architecture and processing of signals in high data rate wireless systems – LTE, WiMAX, UMB. Comparing of modulation technology, data rates, spectral and power efficiency.
Principles of the Wireless Standards Security
Vokál, Martin ; Ryšavý, Ondřej (referee) ; Očenášek, Pavel (advisor)
Computer networks are in the scope of the IEEE organization normalized by the 802 board which currently comprises six working groups for wireless communications. IEEE 802.11 for wireless local area networks, IEEE  802.15 for wireless personal area networks, IEEE 802.16 for wireless metropolitan area networks, IEEE 802.20 for mobile broadband wireless access, IEEE 802.21 for media independent handover and IEEE 802.22 for wireless regional area networks. This master's thesis focuses on a security analysis of particular standards, describes threats, vulnerabilities, current security measures and mutually compares wireless specifications from a security point of view. The conclusion is devoted to overall evaluation of the project, to its contributions, possible enhancements and continuation in the form of consequential studies.
