Authorˊs first name and surname: Monika Lidová Bachelor thesis supervizor: MUDr. Marie Tichá Oponent: Title of bachelor thesis: Home therapy of the patients after stroke with stability disorders With utilization visual biofeedback and stabilometric platform Abstract: The thesis deals with therapy of the patients after stroke with stability disorders in virtual reality. Stabilometric platform Nintendo Wii and program HomeBalance were used during the therapy and enable the visual biofeedback to the pacient. Another specification of this therapy is that the whole process was situated to home environment. The therapy lasted one month and every patient should exercise every day. Time of one exercise depended on the patient's skills. The patient's task was to change position of the center of pressure to the specific place. Every day the patient exercised identical therapeutic scene consisting of a balanced position sequence in the space, that the patient should have achieved. The success of the therapy was evaluated objectively by intrumentation (FootScan) and objective tests, but also by patients' subjective feeling. Berg Balance Scale, Timed Up and Go and Tinetti Performance Oriented Mobility Assessment were used as the objective tests. The monitored parameter for objective evaluation of the stabilometric...

BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Author's first name and surname: Markéta Zárubová Bachelor thesis supervizor: Mgr. Barbora Pochylová Oponent: Title of bachelor thesis: The effect of foot stimulation on postural stability of patients after stroke - objectivisation by a footscan Abstract: This bachelor thesis is focused on determining the effect of foot stimulation on the postural stability of stroke patients using stimulation aids. Three hemiparetic patients have been chosen for this thesis. The therapeutic effect has been analyzed using the Footscan®7.x system, a noninvasive method showing the foot sole pressure distribution. Measurements have been taken before and after foot stimulation in several standing modifications: standing on a broad basis and standing on a narrow basis. In each of these two standing modifications, measurements with eyes opened and closed have been taken. Three different types of stimulation aids have been used in each patient item-by-item. Values of the parameters before and after foot stimulation were entered into tables allowing for the comparison of all three aids. The results are presented in tables and graphs. Key words: Postural stability, stroke, footscan, foot, stimulation aids
Using parts of classical dance in Physiotherapy
Červenková, Lucie ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Ježková, Martina (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to explore the possible use of classic ballet in physiotherapy. It explains the concept of classical ballet, its history and contemporary forms and deals with the contributions that dancing can make to postural stability and control. The possible relation between classical ballet and hypermobility and the psychological and social benefits of dancing are also considered. The thesis presents a case study that describes a set of ballet exercises, its use and the resulting stability improvement in a patient. Finally, a proposal outlining a group therapy session course using components of classical ballet is included.

Title: Testing of the postural stabilization in relation to weight changes of breasts Objectives: Aim of this study is to assess postural changes after breast reduction. To capture the level of postural stability before and after surgery and to evaluate changes between these states. Methods: This thesis is a clinical trial of one group of persons (n=12). It has been created as a quasi experiment. For testing there was used diagnostic method of postural somatooscilography (PSOG) which includes performing postural provocation test on the platform Posturomed under standard conditions. The testing was performed three times. The measurement was recorded by program Microswing 6.0, the collected data was evaluated by program Posturomed Commander and further analyzed by one - way Analysis of Variance in statistical program OpenStat. Results: Managed to prove, that breast reduction has a positive influence on postural stabilization at women suffering from gigantomastia. Status of postural stability was significantly improved two months after surgery. Keywords: postural stability, Posturomed, postural somatooscilography, gigantomastia, reduction mammaplasty
Slackline as a therapeutic possibility to influence postural stability
Komárková, Klára ; Čakrt, Ondřej (advisor) ; Pospíšilová, Mariana (referee)
Objectives: To summarize knowledge about a control of posture, a balance training and a testing on balance platform. I investigate in experimental part of my thesis if slackline training will affect stabilography and differences in quantitative parameters will be found in a training group or a control group. Hypothesis: A specific slackline training positively affects stability which was measured in posturographic selected tests done by the training group. Methods: We test postural stability in control (10 persons) and training (10 persons) group in selected tests of stability. We used a balance platform for testing. The data were statistically analysed. Results: 4 weeks of intense slackline training result in improvement of postural control. That is support by the data of stabilometric examination. The results were just below statistical significance (p > 0.05). Conclusion: The results testify that slacklining can improve postural control in healthy subjects. The results were on the boundary of statistical significance in our intervention group.
Clinical findings and diagnosis of vestibular lesions in patiens with vestibular schwannomem
Kalitová, Petra ; Langmeier, Miloš (advisor) ; Šlapák, Ivo (referee) ; Kozler, Petr (referee)
Summary: The aim of our study was diagnosis and rehabilitation of vestibular loss in patients with vestibular schwannoma. In the first part we focused on analysis of a group of patients before resection of vestibular schwannoma, mainly on evaluation of gain of posturography and on optimalisation of diagnostic algorithm of vestibular pathology. Throughout the second experiment, we studied if rehabilitation of postural gait with visual biofeedback will speed up vestibular compensation in patients after resection of vestibular schwannoma. The group consisted of 44 patients, who underwent surgical removal of vestibular schwannoma. Before surgery each patient underwent clinical vestibular examination, electronystagmographic recordings and posturography. In the second part of the study 17 patients from previous group were chosen. These patients underwent rehabilitation and rehabilitation with biofeedback. For evaluation was used independent samples T-test and cross-tabulation. A great number of variables were reduced by factor analysis. For statistical analysis of the group with rehabilitation was used nonparametric Wilcoxon signed rank test. Statistical analysis revealed that the most typical parameter for vestibular pathology is the time of the step quick turn test, which is a part of posturography. We proved...
Effect of deep foot massage on postural stability in patients with spinocerebellar ataxia
Hlaváčková, Tereza ; Pospíšilová, Mariana (advisor) ; Čech, Zdeněk (referee)
Introduction: Spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) is currently defined as a group of diseases with progressive cerebellar syndrome, which manifests distinctively by ataxic stance and gait. In patients with SCA, deterioration of postural control occurs due to changes of pathophysiological degenerative nervous system. Control of postural stability is significantly influenced by somatosensory afferentation of soft tissue of foot. The work objective is to determine the effect of deep foot massage on postural stability in the group of patients and to compare obtained results with experiments without deep foot massage. Methods: Seven patients of the Clinic Rehabilitation at the Faculty Hospital, Prague Motol (average age 51.9 ± 13.9 years, 5 men, and 2 women) with SCA and clinical signs of cerebellar ataxia were participated in this study. All patients were examined using posturography before and after application of deep foot massage. Measurements were conducted on a firm surface, foam pad with open and closed eyes. Length of COP trajectory, COP area and COP velocity were measured. Results: Significantly lower values of the length and COP velocity were found on the foam pad with closed eyes, when the deep foot massage was applied. Experiments without applications of the deep foot massage did not show any...

Title: Physical profile of judo athletes and its changes due to body weight reduction Aim of work: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of intensive pre-competitive body weight reduction on body composition, anthropometric parameters, postural stability, reaction time, maximal isometric muscle strength and biochemical parameters in the blood of elite judo athletes. Methods: The work compares the results of laboratory testing at the beginning and at the end of body weight reduction. Nine male judo athletes (age 22.3 ± 2.4 years) from the Czech national team participated in the research. For laboratory testing we used bioelectrical impedance analyser InBody 720, anthropometric equipment, pressure plate FootScan, dynamometer and apparatus for measuring reaction times of Biomedical laboratory UK FTVS and equipment for the collection of capillary and venous blood. We created a survey to gather more information about pre-competitive weight loss, attended by 53 competitors (37 men and 16 women, mean age 23.7 ± 3.2 years) who practise judo, wrestling Greco-Roman and freestyle, boxing, kickboxing, thaibox, taekwondo or karate. Results: We found a statistically significant (p<0.01) reduction of body weight, average weight loss was 4.6 % (on average 3.4 ± 1.6 kg). This reduction was reflected in...
