The thesis describing Strategy of business unit is divided into three parts. First theoretical part summarizes strategic management together with strategic analysis, consisting of external and internal part. Second part describes operations on betting market, contemporary Czech market, its development and actual services offered. Last part analyses the strategy of Tipsport Company. It contains basic characteristic of the company followed by development of individual parts of business strategy such as SWOT and PEST analysis and marketing strategy.

This dissertation is written on the company belonging to the group of the world largest producer of passenger cars and light trucks.There were identified major problems during last few years. During the first half of 2006 there was announced a sale of 51 % of company to an investor. The original mission was to serve and support sales of concern brands. The new shareholder is an investment corporation and has already announced the expectation of high increase of volumes and also the level of profitability. The subject of this dissertation is to provide Strategic analyze and redefine the Business Strategies of the selected Strategic Business Units in accordance with new needs and requirements related to the new investorś entry.
Strategic management and development of business strategy

The aim of this thesis has been to assess the activities of strategic management in the production plant. An inspected object, the firm A, is engaged in cystom manufacturing for the general engineering industry. All the analysis (a financial analysis, a SWOT analysis, a STEP analysis) were performed between 2006 and 2008. On these basis were established assumptions of future develeopment. These assumptions affected the factors of external and internal environment of business. There were presented three options for future development, i.e. the destructions of competition, the cooperation with nex suppliers in the business growth, the improvement of the quality of thein products, in the cost reduction, in the quick fullfillment of contracts and in the timely payment from the customers. Only with these factors can be achieved positive economic results.
The assessment of business strategy in the selected travel agency

The main aim of my thesis is analysis of actuall business strategy of searching subject. The chosen company is travel agency Beryreisen.By the concrete analysis of marketing, business competition and market position of travel agency is created new business strategy, which presents a new product of travel agency. New product is created by the questionnaires made according to consumer´s preferences in turism.

This thesis deals with the practical use of marketing communication instruments in the strategy of ŠKODA VAGONKA a.s. The theoretical basis for the further analysis is defined in the first chapter. The company and the electric units manufacturing business are described in the second part, followed by the company's strategy analysis and the comparison with the theory.
The relationship of Enterprise Architecture and strategic management

Enterprise Architecture is so far the highest development step in IT's architectural description of enterprises. At the beginning, just technological architecture existed. However, with the quickly growing complexity of IT other domains occurred, that had to be described. Information or application architectures can serve as examples. IT then realized, that it needed to add to its IT architectures a business view and consequently the discipline Enterprise Architecture came into being. Strategic management is crucial for the development of each enterprise. The thesis focuses on the strategic management of business and the strategic management of IT. The strategic management of business consists of a business strategy and an operating model. To the strategic management of IT then belongs an information strategy and IT governance. Business-IT alignment further explores and ensures the accord between the strategic management of business and the strategic management of IT. The aim of the thesis is to describe the relationship of Enterprise Architecture and the different forms of strategic management and to express to which rate Enterprise Architecture supports them. The explored relationships are: - The relationship of Enterprise Architecture and business strategy - The relationship of Enterprise Architecture and operating models - The relationship of Enterprise Architecture and information strategy - The relationship of Enterprise Architecture and IT governance - The relationship of Enterprise Architecture and business-IT alignment The goals of the thesis are reached via theoretical research and subsequent deduction. The author's personal asset consists of creating a hierarchical model of Enterprise Architecture, of defining Enterprise Architecture's reaction to business strategies, of modifying the methodology MMDIS in respect of information strategy, of depicting, how Enterprise Architecture can be used in IT governance, of illustrating, where Enterprise Architecture contributes to business-IT alignment and of assessing, to which rate Enterprise Architecture supports the different forms of strategic management.

This thesis is dealing with the problematic of relationship between information technology and business, IT and business alignment and the role of CIO in these processes. The further topic I describe in my thesis is the evaluating of the investing projects into information technologies. In connection with this I analyze various financial methods for evaluating of investments in information technologies. The mail goals of this work are: analyze and create a detailed description of modern trends in information technology management and in business and IT alignment, another goal is make comparison of the financial methods and frameworks that help to measure the efficiency of investments in IT and show how these methods can be applied. The further goal is analyze in details the real potential of improvement method and create new set of tools (spreadsheets) for the complex support of this method and show how it can be applied in practice. In the theoretical part of my thesis I focused on the analysis of the role of information technology and CIO in modern organizations and on ways of effective communication of added value to top management of the organization. Analysis is based on the literature review and aimed on searching of skills and knowledge that the modern and successful CIO must have. In this relation were made the analysis of popular financial methods, their comparison and examples how to apply it. Practical part of this work was aimed on the detailed analysis of the real potential of improvement method and how to use it in practice. In this chapter I described the basic principles of this method and created a set of MS Excel tools for better efficiency while using the method of the real potential of improvement. After creation of the tools the practical application of it was shown as an example of improvement of one business process in organization.
Business strategy of small enterprise operating in retail trade

The main objective of the thesis is to deal with business strategy of a small company operating on retail trade market. First of all, retail trade as such is defined and its classification according to Czech Statistical Office is presented. In addition to this, important economic indicators of big vs. small retail enterprises in Czech Republic are confronted. The thesis also describes retail companies' business structure and lists examples of the biggest retail vendors and alliances on the Czech market. The other part of the thesis is concerned particularly with such companies and alliances, focusing on their business strategy. Finally, in the main part of the thesis, the strategy of big companies and alliances is faced with a strategy of a small retail outlet, which forms part of the international retail chain called SPAR. Basic facts about this retail outlet and description of its business strategy are completed by a research regarding the customers' satisfaction with the outlet.
Process of benchmarking in facility management

This bachelor study dissertates about the possibilities of benchmarking application in the field of Facility Management. Theoretical part describes basic characteristics and elementary terms and methods of benchmarking process in Facility Management. In the practical part ten companies providing facility services are compared on the basis of a number of indices. Every company is briefly described. On the results of performed analysis the evolution of the Facility Management in Czech Republic is demonstrated and also different business strategies of concerned companies are shown.
