Synanthropic arthropods as a producers of allergens in households
Smetanová, Ivana ; Hubert, Jan (advisor) ; Frouz, Jan (referee)
This work is about arthropods producing allergens in our homes. It sums together not just todays knowledge about allergic effects in human environment and possible diseases, but also about behavior, occurrence and life cycle of species themself and about possible elimination arthropods and allergens from our households. Most of the world population is nowadays affected by the allergies, allergens are all around us. In today's world when people spend most of the time in the interior enviroment whitch contains allergens and their sources, are also important allergic diseases caused by the arthropods, which we share our homes with. Almost in every room in our home are present some of the arthropods producing allergens. These allergens can affect the life of sensitive persons. Allergens are inside the body of the arthropods and in their body secretions. The highest volume of allergens coming from arthropods in our homes is contained in a dust and food. Allergic reaction is caused by consummation, inhalation or body contact. The cheapest and the most effective treatment of the allergic diseases is to avoid the allergens. The best what we can do is to regulate their volume in our households, because the complete elimination is practically impossible. Key words: Allergens, synanthropic arthropods, households
Monoxenous trypanosomatids of invertebrates
Havlová, Jolana ; Votýpka, Jan (advisor) ; Varga, Vladimír (referee)
The class Kinetoplastea contains free-living and parasitic species. One of the most dominant group within the class is the order Trypanosomatida which includes obligate parasites (Trypanosoma, Leishmania) infecting a wide range of hosts. Some species are serious pathogens of humans and domestic animals and cause considerable losses. However, the majority of trypanosomatids belongs to monoxenous parasites of insect which are usually harmless to their hosts. Monoxenous trypanosomatids predominantly infect Hemiptera and Diptera. This diploma thesis is focused on the detection of monoxenous trypanosomatids in cockroaches captured in the Czech Republic and cockroaches from different breedings. Cockroaches are very suitable mechanical vectors of many different pathogens (including parasites) and are significant health threat for humans and animals. First trypanosomatids in cockroaches were documented at the beginning of the 20th century, but there is no study focused on this topic specifically. Another aim of this thesis is morphological and ultramicroscopic analysis and the study of the host specificity of the recently described species Herpetomonas tarakana, isolated from a cockroach. My findings were partly used in the already published study "Diversity of trypanosomatids in cockroaches and the...

Spirituality of Presence: the Significance of R. Voillaume's Work
Jajtner, Tomáš ; Ventura, Václav (advisor) ; Altrichter, Michal (referee) ; Červenková, Denisa (referee)
English abstract The present dissertation Spirituality of Presence: the Significance of R. Voillaume s Work focuses on the life and work of R. Voillaume (1905-2003). His work is understood as spirituality of presence , or to be more precise of double presence: presence to God and presence to man. After the introductory part dealing with Voillaume s life, historical context and a survey of his work, the dissertation continues with an analysis of his literary work. The main theme is a relecture of Foucauld s spirituality of Nazareth in the light of the mentioned concept of presence: the hidden and silent presence in the midst of men refers not only to the significance of hidden life in Catholic spirituality, it also points out to the deep openness to the situation of modern man and to the search of an authentic Christian life as a life of presence trying to make the life of faith accessible to a contemporary man in a creative and nonconformist way. The conclusion puts Foucauldian spirituality (whose main interpreter is R. Voillaume) into the context of Catholic spirituality and confronts his spirituality of presence with the findings of biblical theology. Theoretically, the dissertation combines personalistic and systematic approaches. Voillaume s work is understood as a major manifestation of Catholic...
