Kleinová, Edita ; Bravená, Noemi (advisor) ; Poche Kargerová, Jana (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with how to talk with children about death after the death of someone close to them, not only in the context of the curriculum, but also their world in general. The thesis is divided into two parts - a theoretical part and an empirical part. The theoretical part is arranged chronologically so that the individual chapters follow each other as best as possible and then create a comprehensive picture of how to communicate appropriately with children about death. The empirical part consists of qualitative research, specifically the research method of semi-structured in-depth interviews. These are conducted with adults who have lost a very close person at a young age. Keywords child, death, fear, loss, separation, reconciliation, curriculum

PODVALSKÁ, Aneta
This bachelor thesis investigates the competencies and experiences of preschool teachers in addressing topics related to death. The theoretical part focuses on understanding dying and death, societal attitudes towards the topic of death, and children's perception of death. The work further examines the influence of media on children's conception of death. It provides an overview of the profession of a preschool teacher and approaches to teaching related to death, how to talk to children about death and how to help children in times of grief. It also presents a range of techniques and activities that can be used in preschools to understand and process death both in a preventive and interventional sense.
SPACs and IPOs: Consequences on Short-term and Long-term performance
Švancara, Jan ; Kurka, Josef (advisor) ; Čech, František (referee)
This thesis investigates disparities in stock exchange performance with regard to businesses that were unprofitable before becoming public. These firms were divided into two samples; the first sample was made up of firms that entered the market through an Initial Public Offering (IPO), while the second sam- ple was composed of firms that accessed the market through a Special Pur- pose Acquisition Company (SPAC). Buy-and-hold Abnormal Returns (BHARs) and Cumulative Abnormal Returns (CARs) are two types of abnormal returns used to measure stock market performance. The performance was examined throughout four different time horizons, with two of them being considered short-term and the other two being long-term in this thesis. The results indi- cated that unprofitable SPACs significantly underperform unprofitable IPOs in every time horizon examined. Additionally, a model that forecasts whether a firm is more likely to go public through an IPO or a SPAC was developed. The findings implied that highly-priced companies with a greater debt are more likely to be selected by a SPAC. In the theoretical part of the thesis I deal with evolutionary period of the elderly and its signs and process, that go in hand with phases and objectives of bereavement process. Also I mention its forms, uncomplicated and complicated bereavement process. Factors that affect them and reactions that can occur. Subsequently, I link together old-age and bereavement process and I mention the features, that manifest. In the end of the theoretical part I mention a ways of consultancy for the bereaved. In the practical part I present a research, that compare the knowledge from the theoretical part and its results. The research is carried out by narrative analysis, methodology is the interview with a respondent, who lost her father 2 years ago. Her bereavement process is recorded. The conclusion of this part and the thesis leads to the realization that theoretical knowledge agrees only partially with the results of research.

Legislation on surrogacy will be also described here. The practical part of the work will be a case study of the children's home, the aim will be to deeply examine and show how children are prepared for independent life and eventually compare whether these practices are differed from the past. Facing the loss: Loss figures in the postwar central european literature
Petránková, Michaela ; Činátlová, Blanka (advisor) ; Bílek, Petr (referee)
My paper will focus upon the theme of loss in postwar Central European literature in works of Nabokov, Bachmann, Bernhard, Handke, Esterhazy, and Chwin, which are narrated as a modern subject's testimony of loss. My goal is to make a collection of loss figures (inspired by Roland Barthes's Fragments of a Lover's Discourse) to examine the nature of testimony in relation to the acts of writing. Any analytical inquiry that focuses itself on the literary testimony as a work of art will have to deal with these textual mechanisms: transparency, suppression, deleting, distancing, turning over, heaviness and reduction.
