The View of a Worker of Homes for the Elderly on the Death of their Client

The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to find out how home for the elderly workers view their client's death, also to see if there is a difference in perspective between the social worker and the social services worker. A qualitative research investigation was used to find answers. Queries were used as a method of collecting data. The qualitative research technique was applied in a semi structured interview. The research set was composed with 6 workers of homes for the elderly. Social workers and workers in social services were represented in equal proportions. Homes for the elderly were chosen by random selection from homes in the South Bohemia Region. An open-coding method was used to evaluate the result. Research has shown that home for the elderly workers view their client's death as part of their job. This view was influenced by practice in arranged initially for them death was taboo, but with the length of practice their perspective changed and they are able to talk about death with clients. The research also found that the difference in the view of death by a social worker and a worker in social services was minimal. It also found out what the difference is between a facility that provides palliative care and a facility that does not use palliative care. Workers homes for the elderly practicing palliative care are used to and taught to interact more with the dying clients. It can make it easier for them to deal with the their death. The use of this bachelor's thesis is varied. It can be used as information material for the management of homes for the elderly, which it can serve as a basis for finding the help of individual workers of a home for the elderly. Another use of this bachelor's thesis may be to inspire other social work students to research the subject.
Social Worker in Children's Home

This thesis focuses on the activities of a social worker in a children´s home. Its objective is to provide insight into the work of a social worker in a children´s home, describe the challenges and experiences encountered in the practice of social work. A social worker is an essential part of every children´s home. His responsibilities mainly involve the administrative aspects of admitting, accommodating, and departure of a child. In the practical part of the thesis a qualitative research strategy was utilized to fulfill the set objective, using specific methods such as questioning and semi-structured interview technique. Through semi-structured interview, answers to a total of 12 questions were gathered, which helped to clarify the objectives and research questions of the thesis. The research sample consisted of social workers from children´s homes. The gathered data was analyzed using open coding and subsequently grouped into categories. The results shown that the work of a social worker in a children´s home is primarily administrative in nature, and they only come into contact with the children in specific situations. The experiences of social workers vary in some cases, but they generally agree on the difficulties they face. One of the difficulties lies in facilitating contact between parents and child. For social workers in children´s homes, it is demanding to locate and contact parents. The problem is frequent changes in residence addresses or phone numbers. Another issue with parents is situation when they make numerous promises to their children but fail to fulfill them in the end. They lack essential information about the birth of the child, childhood, sometimes even about their health condition and relatives. The departure of a child from the home is also demanding for the workers. The workers have information about some children or the children themselves come to visit the children´s home, Unfortunately, regarding some of the children, the workers have no information, which troubles them.
Ethical dilemmas of a social care assistant at work for homeless people

The diploma thesis deals with ethics in social work, specifically in the social rehabilitation service, which helps people on the edge of society endangered by the social exclusion. In the theoretical part we can find a brief description of the problematics of homelessness and services helping this target group, followed by description of importance of ethics in the social work. In the next part is this thesis dedicated to outputs evaluated on the basis of in-depth semi-structured dialogues, being held with workers of specific institution. The reader can get to know the most frequent ethical dilemmas of workers, at their work with clients. One of those dilemmas was chosen for an analysis and it was analysed using utilitarism and deontology
The role of social worker in a care home

The bachelor's thesis deals with the role of a social worker in a children's home. In the theoretical part, the types of institutional facilities are distinguished according to Act 109/2002 Coll. Act on the provision of institutional education or protective education in school facilities and on preventive educational care in school facilities. They also describe the competences, activities, personal and professional prerequisites of a social worker in a children's home. The most comprehensive chapter is the very roles that the social worker in DD falls into. The practical part contains a comparison of professional literature with the practice of working social workers in seven children's homes from western Bohemia.
Social worker as a member of a multidisciplinary team

The diploma thesis deals with the role of a social worker in a hospital environment, specifically at a rehabilitation clinic. The work is focused on mapping the current form of functioning of social work at the rehabilitation clinic, the role of the social worker, the content and meaning of the work in cooperation with other members of the multidisciplinary. The aim of the theoretical part is to get acquainted with the profession of a health and social worker and to describe their role as a member of a health team and their cooperation within a multidiciplinary framework. The aim of the empirical part is to describe the current form of social work not only from the point of view of a social worker, but primarily from the perspective of members of a multidisciplinary team, to find out how medical personnel perceive social workers as members of multidisciplinary teams, and how they evaluate mutual cooperation. Data were generated through a qualitative methodology using semi-structured and informal interviews with members of the multidisciplinary team and with the social worker under whom the clinic falls. Social worker as an employee and member of a (multidisciplinary) team

This diploma thesis deals with a social worker as an employee and a member of a multidisciplinary team in the field of prison system. The aim of the thesis was to find out the view on the social worker from the perspective of top management of the Czech prison service. The theoretical part is divided into three major chapters that interconnect with each other. The first chapter deals with the basic definition of social work and a multidisciplinary team, but also delves into the specific area of social work with the crime perpetrators. The second chapter deals with general management, management of social work and top management, which plays a major role in the research investigation. The third chapter focuses on the area of prison system, its brief history, structure, and for the purposes of adding some interesting information to the thesis, also touches upon the life behind prison bars. The empirical part used qualitative research, specifically semi-structured interview, to fulfill the research goal. The interviews were conducted with top management of the Czech prison service. Critical analysis of attitudes of the professional public to Montessori approach in social work with children

The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out the attitudes of social workers who work with children as a target group towards the Montessori approach. This thesis deals with what social workers think about this specific approach, what they think about it and where they see the space for its use in their professional practice. In the theoretical basis of the work, 3 basic topics are presented: social work, Montessori approach and attitudes. The part on social work deals with defining social work and the profession of a social worker, including the legislative framework, it also deals with the specification of social work with children and the introduction of institutions where it is possible to work with children within this profession (e.g. Authority for the social and legal protection of children, low-threshold facilities for children and youth, children's crisis centres, etc.). How social work has affected the lives of social workers.

79 Abstract This diploma thesis explores the effects of social work on a social worker. The goal of this thesis is to describe the effects regarding the worker's life and experience in depth. The theoretical part of this paper is compiled of four parts. The introductory part explicates the definition of social work and the characteristics of a social worker. The following chapter deals with the role as well as the responsibilities of a social worker in their professional life; in addition, some potential risks a social worker may experience in their line of work are presented. Next, the private life of a social worker is explored in connection with their profession. Finally, work-life balance and psychohygiene are delved into as preventative measures, which should be implemented at, as well as outside of work. The practical part of this paper is qualitative research, specifically, a semi-structured interview; in other words, an interview composed of open-ended questions was conducted with several social workers from a reception centre.
