Structure and mechanical properties of thin wall nodular iron castings
Chýlková, Adéla ; Mores, Antonín (referee) ; Roučka, Jaromír (advisor)
The purpose of this final thesis is experimental verification of the influence of graphitic inoculants containing different amounts of trace elements on the structure, mechanical properties and internal homogeneity of thin-walled ductile iron casting. This thesis describes the issue with casting of thin-walled ductile iron. Two melts of thin-walled test plates with thickenesses of 3-, 5- and 8 mm were done in experimental part. A total of six types of inoculations with different content of trace elements were tested. Subsequently, an X-ray irradiation analysis was performed on the samples and hardness, tensile strength and ductility were evaluated. Futhermore, the amount of graphite in structure, graphite shape, graphite size, nodularity, graphite nodule count and volume phases of ferrite and perlite in matrix were analysed in thin-walled ductile cast iron by computer-based image analyzer. Finally, the measurement data were processed into tables and charts and conclusions were formulated. An X-ray analysis proved, that all thin-walled test plates containned shrinkage porosity. Furthemore it was confirmed, that content of manganese in inoculant increases tensile strength and hardness. Also content of zirconium in inoculant increases graphite nodule count.
Limits of restrictions on fundamental rights and freedoms in connection with vaccination against COVID-19
Studničková, Alena ; Grinc, Jan (referee)
Limits of restrictions on fundamental rights and freedoms in connection with vaccination against covid-19 The thesis deals with the limits of restrictions on fundamental rights and freedoms in connection with vaccination against the covid-19 disease. Its goal is, firstly, to assess the compliance of the introduction of mandatory vaccination against covid-19 in the Czech Republic with the constitutional order, or to define the conditions that the legislation would have to meet in order to be considered constitutionally compliant, and secondly, to evaluate the legality of extraordinary measures issued for the purpose to get rid of the covid-19 epidemic. The text contains an outline of the legal regulation of compulsory vaccination in the Czech Republic, supplemented by an analysis of the relevant jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court, which is followed by a description of the regulation of the introduction of compulsory vaccination against the covid-19 disease in December 2022 and an evaluation of its constitutionality at the time of publication and at the time of completion of the work from the author's point of view. The next part is devoted to extraordinary measures related to vaccination against the covid-19 disease in the field of labour relations, education and services, where the emphasis...
Analysis of vaccine utilization and spontaneous adverse events reports in influenza vaccine
Podskalská, Markéta ; Zimčíková, Eva (advisor) ; Kolmanová, Eliška (referee)
Analysis of vaccine utilization and spontaneous adverse events reports in influenza vaccine Author: Markéta Podskalská Supervisor: PharmDr. Eva Zimčíková, Ph.D. Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Introduction and goal: Influenza is a contagious disease of the respiratory system. It is caused by influenza viruses and appears in annual outbreaks. The best form of influenza prevention is vaccination against influenza viruses on yearly basis. The vaccination has many benefits, but some side effects may appear as well. Goal of this thesis was to analyse and evaluate reports of side effects of influenza vaccination between years 2004-2017 and to evaluate the use of influenza vaccines from 2004 to 2022. Methodology: The Central Database of Adverse Events Reporting of the State Institute for Drug Control was used as the data source. Reports with the ATC code J07BB in the period from 2004 to 2017 were evaluated. Information about the patient, reporting person, the region where the notification was filed, the method of reporting and details concerning adverse events were analysed. These details included the number and severity of adverse effects, their predictability and final outcome. Data on influenza vaccine usage were provided by SÚKL....
Depiction of side effects of Covid-19 vaccines in Czech television news
Zelbová, Judita ; Klabíková Rábová, Tereza (advisor) ; Křeček, Jan (referee)
This thesis focuses on how the side effects of vaccination against covid-19 were presented by media during the pandemic. The aim was to find out how the side effects were reported by Czech national television stations in their evening news programmes, what were the differences in presentation between the stations and which experts were invited to comment on the topic. The thesis primarily uses qualitative content analysis and to a lesser degree quantitative content analysis. The thesis shows that three of the four TV stations studied (ČT1, Nova and Prima) approached the presentation of the topic in a very similar way conceptually, TV Barrandov being quite different in this respect. All TV stations presented side effects on the basis of substantiated data, with an emphasis on information obtained from relevant organisations (European Medicines Agency, Czech State Institute for Drug Control) and experts (mostly epidemiologists, immunologists and physicians of various specialties). Contrary to the expectation, the coverage of the side-effects proved to be relatively marginal and only became notable in the spring of 2021, when a larger number of adverse reactions occurred with the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Migrant Parents in the Czech Republic: Child Health Care Experiences and Attitudes Towards Childhood Vaccination
Dvořáčková, Lenka ; Smith, Simon (advisor) ; Hasmanová Marhánková, Jaroslava (referee)
This thesis presents data gained from qualitative research that took place in Prague, Czech Republic during winter 2022 and spring 2023. The aim was to find out how foreign mothers perceive the local health care system and mandatory immunization scheme. The theoretical part presents information and statistics related to immunization worldwide and in the Czech Republic. The sociological theoretical part discusses Parsons' and other researchers' work on doctor-patient relationship and Beck's risk society in relation to immunization. The research is based on in-depth semi-structured interviews with 14 women who are migrant mothers. All except one interview was conducted online via the Zoom platform. The analysed data presents, firstly, the informants' experiences with healthcare for children; secondly, their communication and relationship with paediatricians; and thirdly, their general attitudes and sources of information used to make immunization choices for their children. The results demonstrate the importance for these mothers' sense of agency and wellbeing of building trusting relationships, sharing decision making and choosing the appropriate language(s) for communication.
The topic vaccination in biology education
Petáková, Iva ; Janštová, Vanda (advisor) ; Vojíř, Karel (referee)
This bachelor thesis is dedicated to vaccination as a successful health method to prevent infectious diseases. It is mentioned here that vaccination is one of the key steps to reducing the number of infectious diseases and their spread in the population. Despite the success of vaccination, there are many individuals who are reticent to vaccinate. The aim of the thesis is to summarize the causes and consequences of this reticent, to highlight the importance of vaccination in education and to inform on available vaccination programmes that could be used in education. First, the work focuses on distrust in science and its influence on reticence towards vaccination, and what effect social networks and communication not only from health professionals have on this issue. There are misconceptions in the work about vaccination that appear among the public. Furthermore, there are reasons for including the topic of vaccination and prevention of infectious diseases in school education mentioned together with how this could be implemented using interactive methods that make it possible to achieve better awareness of the issue. Key words vaccination, vaccine, refusal of vaccination, infectious disease, trust in science, education
The role of the pediatric nurse in the prevention of infectious gastroenteritis in the pediatric ward.
CARDOVÁ, Barbora
The master thesis focuses on the role of a pediatric nurse in the prevention of infectious gastroenteritis in the pediatric departments. In the theoretical part of the thesis the focus is paid to general information concerning gastroenteritis and preventive measures in case they occur in the pediatric departments. In the empirical part of the thesis three goals are set. 1. Evaluate the health literacy of pediatric nurses working in the maternity ward and pediatric department in the field of pediatric gastroenteritis. 2. To assess the health literacy of pediatric nurses working in pediatric departments in the field of preventive measures against the spread of gastroenteritis in maternity wards and pediatric departments. And the 3rd last goal was to determine the opinions of pediatric nurses working in primary care and in pediatric departments regarding the optional vaccination of children against rotavirus. This part of the thesis deals with the analysis of data obtained using a self-administrated questionnaire. Questionnaires were given in the Hradec Králové region to nurses working in the pediatric and maternity departments of four local hospitals and to nurses in primary care at general practitioners for children and adolescents. The return of properly completed questionnaires was a total of 146, of which 110 questionnaires were from inpatient departments and 36 questionnaires from primary care. The research has shown that nurses have knowledge in the field of gastroenteritis, but they are not 100% informed. In the area of preventive measures of the spread of gastroenteritis, both research groups of nurses are very well oriented, and additionally nurses from primary care have a more positive opinion regarding the vaccination against rotavirus than nurses from inpatient departments. The output of the master thesis is a educational material for nurses, focused on the prevention of transmission of infectious gastroenteritis in pediatric inpatient departments.
