Motive of death in kindergarten mediated through children's literature

This bachelor thesis will convey a research theme of death and its presence as a theme in the kindergarten and amongst its pedagogues and their explanations of it. The goal of this thesis is to map the death-related themes present in kindergarten and the way their presence manifests there. We also strive to create a list of appropriate and qualified literature for children to go along with it and which can be used to work with the idea of death in kindergarten. Using this we are going to create, realise and reflect three lessons containing death-related themes where we would use "work with a book" method in selected kindergarten. Theoretical part of this thesis will concentrate on the death-theme and ways in which children approach said theme - this will be done through characteristics of pre-school child and through their cognitive evolution towards the death-theme. Further on in the practical part of the thesis we will explain the term "reader's pre-literacy" through the work with a book method and read strategies used in kindergarten. Didactic interpretation of foreign texts about the Holocaust for children

The main aim of this diploma thesis is to provide materials about the Holocaust to secondary school teachers. The theoretical part provides general information about the Holocaust and World War II and it deals with the relation between the Holocaust and the Framework Educational Programme. It also informs about readers'specifics of pubescents and didactic interpretation of the texts. In the practical part, with the help of didactic interpretation of the books Counting Stars by Lois Lowry, Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyn, The Island on Bird Street by Uri Orlev and Mark Zusak's Book Thief, there are compiled lesson plans with workseehts and methodical instructions. In the diploma thesis, the E-U-R model and the methods of critical thinking (e.g. didactic Cinquain) are used to fill in the worksheets. Selected worksheets were tested on secondary school pupils and then the lessons and the achievement of the individual goals were evaluated. The diploma thesis also offers possibilities how to improve the lesson plans and worksheets. The message of fairy tales for children in kindergarten

This thesis deals with classical fairy tale in the life of pre-school children. The aim of the thesis is to find out any chances if implementing fairy-tale projects so that they could attract contemporary pre-school children, deliver their message and simultaneously correspond with the FEPPE (Framework Education Programme for Preschool Children) targets. The theoretical part deals with developmental stages of apre-school child together with characteristic developmental peculiarities classification. The second part classifies both symbolism and characteristic features of afairy tale. The third part deals with an importance of a fairy tale in a pre-school child´s life and its usage in the framework of pre-school education. The practical part contains a creation of projects which are based on fairy-tales motifs and their implementation with a group of children.

The aim of this bachelor´s thesis is to discover causes of a literary success of a famous novel Heart which was written by an Italian writer Edmondo De Amicis and was published in 1886. Year 1886 was a big milestone in Italian history. Population of Italian state had to adapt to the new established state - the Italian Kingdom. The main task of this thesis is to research the facts of the author´s life and his period. Then analyze the novel, describe the story and the characters, analyze the main topics and the writer´s ideas. In conclusion discover how connected are the facts about novel, author and historical context and make a summary.

- The picture of the New Objectivity in children's novels from Erich Kästner in comparison with the Czech period book from Jaroslav Foglar, Záhada hlavolamu The aim of the thesis is to answer whether it is possible to find common or different characters when comparing selected works of Czech and German literature for children. The research question that I put on in this thesis is: What common and different characters can be found when comparing German and Czech literature for children of the time of New Objectivity? The basic methods used in the thesis are analytical and comparative methods. First, I analyse individual books from the point of view of the set criteria. In the bachelor thesis I first describe the movement of the New Objectivity at a more general level, the context of the period from the end of the First World War to the Weimar Republic. The following part deals with the Weimar Republic culture, the so-called golden twenties, and the development of mass culture. Further, the style of the New Objectivity is defined, its formation, the typical characters, the themes it deals with, the influence in the various fields of art and its relation to the avant-gardes. Fantasy Genre of the Eleven Years old Readers

In her thesis Fantasy Genre of the Eleven Years Old Readers the author is concerned with the education of fantasy category for 11 years old pupils, respectively for the fifth year of the primary school. Centre of work consists in practical part, where the author comments and reflects her suggestions of past lectures based on extracts from fantasy books. She indicates how to interpose fantasy genre to students in literary education, for them to be able to gradually disclose and understand the meaning of the text (process of discovery and creation), share and evaluate important thoughts arising from it and subsequently apply these in real life. Apart from that are some accomplished plans of her lectures, directed also towards personality and social development of the individuals. Karel Čapek's Prosaic Works for Children and for Adults. A Comparison of Style

The subject of this thesis is an analysis of various stylistic aspects of Karel Čapek's Povídky z jedné a z druhé kapsy and Devatero pohádek. In the first part, the author deals with a distinctive feature of Čapek's works, which is an attempt to cause an impression of an oral narrative. At first, she studies an influence of this feature on general composition of the chosen writings. Then she analyses particular language means. The second part explores other stylistic and linguistic means, which are typical for chosen material. These are for example accumulations of synonymic expressions, playing with acoustic form of language or utilization of elements from foreign languages.
