Present state of investment casting technology
Mazůrek, Tomáš ; Zemčík, Ladislav (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis elaborated within the scope of full-time study of specialization B-STI Mechanical Engineering is dealing with procedures and methods of production castings using the lost wax casting technology. This literature review deals with the entire production process from casting molds for the production models to the ultimate control of manufactured parts and is structured exactly as the technological process in the manufacture of components. For each of the technological process are given commonly used procedures and new technologies that are developed and are now examined. The second part is specific examples of the use of technology investment pattern at present. The aim of this work is to create a bibliographic search, describing the evolution of technology, investment pattern and its possible use today.

Production of the golf club head
Žádník, Martin ; Kaněra, Miloš (referee) ; Jelínek, Radim (advisor)
Focus of this thesis is on choosing of a suitable production process of golf club head and its subsequent production. Investment casting was chosen as a process of production. Model, which is usually wax, was made on FDM 3D printer from PLA material. The casting material was chosen Maraging 200 steel. Two different putters were created and a short survey was conducted. Based on result of the survey the third model was created.

Casted Formula Student Upright
Doležal, Tomáš ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with a design of casted upright for Formula Student vehicle Dragon X. Casting method used for the purpose of this thesis was selected by review of relevant scientific literature. The upright was then structurally designed and strength calculations were made. Main criterion of the design is minimum compliance with meeting the required weight. Final design is compared with the design of the previous generation of vehicle.

Optimization of macrostructure of nickel-based alloys castings
Šmíd, Michal ; Ňuksa, Petr (referee) ; Roučka, Jaromír (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focusing on possibilities of influencing casting’s structure of nickel superalloy Inconel 713LC by force effects caused by vibration and rotation during crystallization. In this research were cast three test castings of turbine wheels with different solidification conditions that have affected the size and distribution of the grains. The aim was to compare the different microstructure and macrostructure of castings and then compare the dependence of grain refinement on mechanical properties. Changes in the structure were analyzed by means of light and electron microscopy methods after the fracture of test bars.

3D printing methods for foundry applications
Rendek, Andrej ; Pernica, Vítězslav (referee) ; Krutiš, Vladimír (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the application of 3D printing methods for foundries, specifically for investment casting technology. The paper describes different printing methods and principles which they are based on with a more detailed description of materials containing their properties and in some cases recommended modifications of the casting process. The last part is devoted to price comparison of three selected methods of model printing for investment casting and dilatometry of six materials with evaluation of their coefficients of thermal expansion and glass transition temperatures.
