Bachelor thesis "Food as a culturally social phenomenon, gastronomy not only in the arts" is concerned with a phenomenon of food in a wider context of sociocultural and artistic areas as an instrument of world's "estetics" and a human movement via the food. It contextually arranges a view into formally very rich area of basic and also "above standard" human needs. Its aim is familiarization and connection of ethic codexes during the preparation, serving and consumption of food in different cultures and in art.

Post-war History and Present of the Czech Sport Press Association

The Czech Sport Press Association is one of the significant and reputable Czech press associations. It was founded in 1923, three years before the foundation of the Czechoslovak Press Syndicate, which is the direct predecessor of the today's most considerable press association in the Czech Republic. At the beginning of this work are depicted the events connected with the foundation of the Czech Sport Press Association against background of formation common press association in our country. Then the main part of the work is focused on characterization of activities of the Czech Sport Press Association, which were closely connected with a similar association in Slovakia. Lastly, in the third part there are characterized changes of the Czech Sport Press Association after 1989 and described its current activities and structure. The work is particularly based on analysis of archival sources from a collection of the Czech Sport Press Association and testimonies of a few auricular witnesses of changes of the association. The ambition of this work is to present this organization to the people, who are interested in the press syndicates, and especially to the current members of the Sport Press Association, who do not know much about its history.

Weapon (not only) as a work of art

The purpose of this bachelor work is to introduce a small-arms not only as an object for various kinds of practical utilization, but also to afer on thein values from the point of their perception as an art artefact in the linkup on their development in different cultures. It directs also on the region of Japan and samurai swords with reference on their sociocultural value. In the part dedicated to the hand weapons it introduces a history of their creation and methods of their division. In the last part presents the weapon as a device used in the movie industry and in the computer games in the linkup on a weapon presentation as an item of the violence in an up to date society. One of the targets of this bachelor work about weapons is an analyse of the social pathological event of the shooting in the schools so called "school shooting", which becomes very extended phenomen of current days. Work points on the possibilities and reasons of the origin of this phenomen by revealing a possible offender profile and further I introduce a concepts of the school shooting prevention in the linkup on the posibility to reveal potencial offender in time. Czechs and Germans in Ústí nad Labem in the 20th century. History and historiographical reflexion.

This bachelor thesis deals with the coexistence of Czechs and Germans in Ústí nad Labem in the 20th century. In the first part of this thesis, I will focus on social and cultural aspects of Czech-German coexistence and pay attention to the associations, organisations and facilities which are depicted in the backround of historical events in the mentioned period. I also refered to the political development and changes in the composition of its population since the beginning of German colonization until 1950. The second part deals with the reflection of the current Czech-German coexistence in the region, particularly at the workplaces of the local University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně and in the projects of the Collegium Bohemicum. It also outlined how Usti nad Labem will participate in the Czech-German issues in the near future.

Film in the 1940s - 1960s in the USA and Czechoslovakia

This work deals with films made in the 1940s - 1960s in Czechoslovakia and the USA. It is concerned with the historic events during this period of time. Moreover, it describes the political background in the USA and Czechoslovakia at that time in order to find out if it influenced the film industry. This thesis focuses on a brief description of film genres during the 1940s - 1960s. Furthermore, it mentions the most famous actors, actresses and directors who became symbols of their time and it also provides research in form of a questionnaire which shows if university students are interested in the films from this period of time. The Municipal Library in Svitavy

The main theme of this bachelor thesis is Municipal Library in Svitavy (http://www.booksy.cz/). It describes both its historical development and its present agenda and activities. In the first part the author writes about history of the city Svitavy and historical development of librarianship in Svitavy with emphasis on founding of the Multifunctional Education, Community and Culture Centre. In the second, main part of the thesis are described today's services of Municipal Library in Svitavy in detail. The author focuses on culture and educational doings, which are set up by the library. In short, the author also implies the future of the library. In the last part are evaluations of surveys among adults and children, who visit the library. The author asked, whether they like Municipal Library in Svitavy and its services and whether they have any suggestions to make their library better place.
