Protecting health and safety in an elementary school setting

The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the issue of health and safety in primary schools, prevention and statistics of accidents. The main topic is school accidents, safety risks and social safety. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts related to the issue, as well as valid legislation and recommendations. The practical part of this work is divided into two parts. The first section is a research of the available information obtained from the school archive, comparison with information databases from the Internet and methodological guidelines for ensuring the safety and health protection of children, pupils and students in schools and educational institutions established by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. In the second section of the practical part of the pedagogical research, a qualitative method of data collection is used, namely interviews with teachers, their experiences with injuries, risks and social safety in schools related to their practice. In addition, a quantitative method of data collection is used, specifically the questionnaire method. Implementation of Health and Safety Education in a Elementary School with Small Classes

The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a research part. In the theoretical part, I define concepts such as implementation, health, and health education. I focus on the area of Child and Its Body, which is included and specified in the Framework Educational Program for Preschool Education. Furthermore, I describe the concept of health education in preschools. I also cover the area of Human and Its World, specifically the field of Human and Its Health, which is included in the Framework Educational Program for Primary Education, at the first stage. I discuss small rural schools and finally, I write about safety in the school environment. The second part is focused on the analysis in the field of health education, specifically - the school educational program, the school preventive program, and the annual report of Sloup v Čechách Primary and Nursery School. Based on the conducted analysis, suggestions for improvements in the researched area will be formulated. One of the partial goals is the subjective evaluation of the feeling of safety at school, i.e., to determine whether students and staff feel safe at school and how they protect their health and safety. The thesis deals with the possibilities of integration of people with Down syndrome into society in the context of the degree of attainability of their certain skills. It summarizes the current findings in various areas of life both in the Czech Republic and abroad, and presents important findings from individual areas and the extent of their accessibility for independent living. It outlines specific abilities and skills that can be easily acquired by people with Down syndrome compared to those who are more challenging or even impossible.

In my bachelor's thesis I deal with the issue of escapism - i.e.the desire to escape from reality (through computer games, daydreaming, an escape into the world of fantasy etc.). The reason I chose this theme lies in my personal desire to escape - from certain people's emotional prison, from certain types of traumas, which, within the space of years, sometimes emerge on the surface and influence my present life as well as my future. My medium of choice was large scale painting on canvas. Into these paintings, I have tried to project my feelings of indecision, anxiety and expectation. I believe the theme to be relevant int the whole socio-cultural context, and not just in the last three years, though I do feel the need to escape from reality to be more sought after by people in the context of the wider present.

The task reflects actual occasions of cities, specifically of Brno. The main aim is finding the most appropriate utilization of unused place defined by streets (Milady Horakova, Francouzska and Cernopolni). Relevant part of analyzing the place most convinced the design, these papers use public materials. Urban design enhance this location with new functions, specially residential, commercial and public space. Gentrification is one of the most interesting opportunities for designing enrichment of this location. The design of choosen objects seek for quality, sustainable, modern living in city with defined space.

Masters thesis works with concepts such as home intimacy, safety, system, etc. During the period from 16.1.2012 to 12.3.2012 author secretly penetrated into the apartment their parents and disrupted by subtle interventions to break the routine like their home. Secretly watched the behavior and rules which operate on her parents (with their parents she dont live). The intervention provoked to a specific form of interaction between author and her family.

I Live Tarot

Private deck of cards created during six-month survey and documentation of daily experiences. The package contains 49 cards and it is inspired by a set of 78 tarot cards. Text content - reverse side of the card was created using diary notes. Face side of the card was chosen as a representation of processes taking place usually in days when the card was read.

Riverside House

The location is situated in the area along the Svitava river, regulated for economic reasons at the turn of the 20th century. As the values are evolving, it is nowadays highly desirable to live by the river while having the view of the still flowing water. The aim of the thesis is to increase the attractiveness of today's inhospitable place and to offer the inhabitants a pleasant environment for living since no matter how superb the house is, the lack of a fine environment lowers its value. The proposal is based on the use of platforms as an ideal means of defining the hierarchy of spaces.
