(in English): The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to translate a part of the chapter Natural Forms from the book Renaissance Gothic. Architecture and the Arts in Northern Europe 1470 - 1540 written by Ethan Matt Kavaler, a Canadian professor of art history. In the commentary that follows the translation the author considers the specific factors that have influenced the genesis of the original. Then, she analyses its lexical and stylistic features and characterizes the text as an essay of considerable qualities. Drawing upon the analysis the author describes the translation problems and the translator's strategies employed to solve them. She attempts to identify the translation shifts and discusses the reasons of their occurrence. It is observed that the translation tends to be more explicit, uses more variable language solutions and some solutions of increased expressive intensity. This tendency is consistent with the effort to adapt the translation to the target language culture and to preserve the quality of the original.

Evaluation of the functionality of ecoducts using GIS
Benešová, Eliška ; Matějíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Brůna, Josef (referee)
This thesis deals with the evaluation of ecoducts using GIS, represented by the ArcGIS Pro software tool. We present a new, systematic view on the evaluation of ecoducts, which is directly applicable also in the process of planning their construction. We conclude that the majority of ecoducts in the Czech Republic is not built in an unquestionably correct way in terms of their primary purpose. At the same time, however, most of these ecoducts meet at least some of the assessed criteria; we can therefore reasonably assume that they will be used, albeit with a lower preference. The thesis provides a basis for this view and can be expanded by adding additional evaluated criteria. The validity of the methods and results of this work should be verifiable by field research. Key words: ecoduct, GIS, remote sensing, fragmentation, architecture, linear infrastructure

Michálková, Petra ; Zdichynec, Jan (advisor) ; Foltýn, Dušan (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the topic of (neo)classical castle architecture in the Hradec Králové Region. Its aim is to examine the listed castles in the region built in the (neo)classicist style based on predefined criteria, which it places in the context of generally accepted architectural theory. There is a large amount of (neo)classical architecture in the region that could not be covered in the thesis, and therefore, also due to the continuity with the bachelor thesis, only castle architecture is chosen. The work is interdisciplinary in nature and extend in the historical, architectural and educational fields. The present study uses the method of comparison based on my own field research and the study of contemporary photographs and postcards. One of its sub-objectives is to come to terms with the concepts of classicism, empire and neoclassicism and to take its own position on them. The castle is first placed in its historical context and provides an overview of the events that led to the (neo)classical reconstruction or new building. A detailed architectural analysis is included into the generally applicable (neo)classical theory or architectural elements typical of the style. These facts are then compared and analysed in order to observe their similarities and differences and to find...

Mix/Match Brno
Hrubá, Kateřina ; Rozwalka, Szymon (referee) ; Toman, Radek (advisor)
How to solve housing of "people in the move"? While someone needs a place to live only for a short time - e.g. guest workers, for someone temporary housing can represent a longer period of time - just immigrated professionals, foreigners who are looking for permanent housing, young people who need time to save up, find a job, clarify where and how they actually want to live. The site is located in the wider center of the city of Brno, in a street gap on Hlinky Street. The project aims to create a space that will provide a more or less temporary home and at the same time support social interactions - both inside the building between individual tenants and in the urban environment.

A NEW SPACE FOR LIFE - KROMĚŘÍŽ - LUTOPECKÁ
Vido, Samuel ; Urbášková, Hana (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
The proposal extends the city of Kroměříž into an undeveloped area. Newly proposed facilities in this area will bring various functions, from traditional housing and community living to multifunctional spaces and urban amenities such as groceries, bistros, cafés, libraries, fitness centers, or office spaces, creating an environment for active urban life. Within the block, there are parks, water areas, promenades, playgrounds, or workout areas. The proposal introduces housing to the location, such as traditional residential units, which are in constant demand, as well as a newly introduced concept of community living, financially accessible to people and families from various social or health disadvantaged groups, or for people who prefer to live in a social environment while maintaining privacy. In addition to housing, this complex brings multifunctional spaces to its surroundings, supporting small businesses in the area and providing them with an attractive space for the growth of their business, whether it be a restaurant, hair salon, or office spaces. A large number of educational institutions in the area provide an opportunity to create space for youth development, which is the focus of this proposal.
