Synthesis and evaluation of potential antitubercular agents based on nitro aromates
Delong, Jakub ; Krátký, Martin (advisor) ; Kučerová, Marta (referee)
The goal of the master's thesis was the synthesis and assessment of potential molecules against tuberculosis based on aromatic compounds containing nitro groups. The thesis reviews tuberculosis and its therapy, in the theoretical part, followed by well-know and new nitro group containing antibiotics. The experimental part reports multitep synthesis from parent compounds - substituted benzoic acid, pyruvic acid and variously substituted anilines, which were evaluated for their antimycobacterial activity. The core structure of the prepared compound molecules is N-phenyl-2-[2-(3,5- dinitrobenzoyl)hydrazinylidene]propanamide, which was variously substituted on the benzene ring of N-phenylpropanamide. In case of four compounds, one nitro group was switched to the trifluoromethyl group. Yields varied from 7 to 72 % and their minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) ranged from 4 to more than 1000 µmol/l. N-(4-Bromphenyl)-2-[2-(3,5- dinitrobenzoyl)hydrazinylidene]propanamide proved to be the most effective derivate. Key words Antibiotics, antimycobacterial activity, 3,5-dinitrobenzohydrazide, nitro group, synthesis, tuberculosis

Veselá, Jana ; Voráček, Josef (advisor) ; Opelík, Daniel (referee)
Title: The importance of sustainability regarding outdoor equipment: The attitude-behaviour gap Objectives: The main objective of my thesis is to identify the factors that influence the attitude-behaviour gap when purchasing sustainable outdoor clothing and to determine how these factors manifest in the decision-making process. These findings will lead to more effective promotion of sustainable outdoor gear. Methods: The thesis uses the method of quantitative research, namely electronic questioning, which aims to approach the decision-making process when purchasing sustainable outdoor clothing. The research involved 311 respondents engaged in outdoor sports/activities. The set of respondents was thus determined by a partially influenced selection. Results: The most significant factor influencing the attitude-behaviour gap when purchasing sustainable outdoor clothing is the perceived high price. However, the research revealed a certain correlation between the negative impact of higher prices and the awareness of sustainable attributes of outdoor clothing. The greater the respondents' awareness of sustainable attributes throughout the product's life cycle, the lower the negative impact of higher prices. Higher awareness is also associated with a higher degree of importance attached to sustainable...

Coping with demanding study responsibilities for conservatory students
Kellerová, Anna
This master's thesis deals with the demanding responsibilities of studying at a conservatoire and coping with them. The aim of the thesis is to research how students experience their studies, the stress and also how they cope with the stress itself. Conservatoire students are a very specific group of pupils. From an early age they publicly perform, they are being judged, compared and they develop a very unique individual relationship with their teachers. All these circumstances can lead to difficult situations in their life. The theoretical part of the thesis is therefore divided into 4 main chapters. In the first chapter there is a brief description of studying at a conservatoire with a focus on its technicalities. The second chapter examines stress amongst musicians, what causes it, how it emerges, and I also mention stress among young musicians and how it differs from stress experienced by professional musicians in this chapter. The next part brings the reader closer to specific challenging situations in the lives of conservatoire students and the last chapter describes coping strategies that can be used in the lives of musicians. The practical part of the thesis is carried out in the form of semi-structured interviews with conservatoire students from several schools in the Czech Republic. The...
