Chemical analysis of a-CSi:H and a-CSiO:H films
Olivová, Lucie ; Franta, Daniel (referee) ; Čech, Vladimír (advisor)
Plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition is a promising technology for the preparation of materials in the form of thin films with controlled physical-chemical properties, which can be affected by changing input precursors or deposition conditions as needed. In this thesis, plasma nanotechnology was used to synthesize thin films on silicon wafers. Tetravinylsilane was chosen as a precursor for the synthesis of the films. In addition to pure tetravinylsilane, mixtures of tetravinylsilane with argon and mixtures of tetravinylsilane with oxygen were also used as input precursors for film deposition, in different proportions of the individual component in the deposition mixture. Using chemical analyses, specifically infrared spectroscopy, photoelectron spectroscopy and selected ion techniques, the chemical structure of the prepared films was examined in detail and the dependence of this structure on deposition conditions and input precursors was studied. This thesis confirms, that by changing effective power supplied to the plasma discharge and selecting different input precursors, it is possible to control chemical structure, and thus the properties of the prepared nanolayers.
Chemical structure of silicon-based thin films
Olivová, Lucie ; Franta, Daniel (referee) ; Čech, Vladimír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the characterization and preparation of thin polymer films deposited on silicon wafers by plasma-enhanced chemical vapour deposition. The main part of the work is background research in the field of plasma polymerization and infrared spectroscopy. Thin polymer films based on tetravinylsilane and tetravinylsilane with the addition of mixed gas (argon) were prepared in the experimental part. The prepared thin films of plasma polymers were characterized by the selected spectroscopic technique - infrared spectroscopy. Based on the evaluation of transmission infrared spectra, the chemical structure of the deposited polymer films was determined. The determined chemical structures of the prepared films were observed with respect to the deposition conditions and hence the possibility to prepare tailored films for a variety of applications.
Yihetuan 義和團: Militia United in Righteousness as a Religious Movement
Ivan, Robert ; Olivová, Lucie (advisor) ; Chlup, Radek (referee)
Using the perspective of religious studies the thesis analyzes the so called Boxer Uprising that swept the north China in 1900. It briefly summarizes the current state of scholarship and confronts the belief that the Boxers were a secret anti-government movement with connections to the White Lotus sect, or a nationalist movement fighting against the foreigners and the influence of imperialism. The common appellation Boxers refers to the Yihetuan 義和團 movement, but the thesis uses the translation Militia United in Righteousness instead because it better reflects the motives and goals of the movement. The objective of the thesis is to show that the Militia was a popular religious movement that was principally loyalist and fought primarily against the Christianity perceived as a danger to the social structure. Therefore the thesis investigates various aspects of the movement, including spirit possession and rituals of invulnerability, as well as the motives for anti-Christian attitudes. By putting the movement into a broader socio-cultural context it is shown that in order to understand the traditional China it is necessary to understand its religions. That is the reason for the emphasis on correcting misunderstandings concerning the Chinese religions and Qing dynasty (1644-1911). The thesis thus...
Understanding the reconstruction of traditional porcelain culture in Urban China- Based on modern porcelain industry in Jingdezhen
Liu, Yang ; Hroníková, Linda (advisor) ; Olivová, Lucie (referee) ; Hudeček, Jiří (referee)
My dissertation examines the interaction between transformation, development of traditional culture and modern one under the background of China's rapid modernization. Its focus is on the porcelain craftsmanship culture from the famous "porcelain capital", Jingdezhen. Although the relationship between the traditional and the modern has always been widely concerned and discussed in academia, especially in sociology and anthropology. Yet, it should be noted that in existing literature we rarely investigate the reconstruction and re-creation of traditional craftsmanship culture that has been taken for granted in former socialist countries where the spread of modernization into social development came much later than its Western counterparts. This research begins to fill the gap by extending an art anthropological and contextualized perspective on what endows the traditional craftsmanship culture with a multitude of modern values in Jingdezhen, and with what structural driving forces. It showcases that what endows the traditional porcelain industry in Jingdezhen with numerous modern characteristics are the adaptation of individualized traditional craftsmanship to modern technological society; the happy marriage of humanizing traditional craftsmanship with mass tourism, and a successful cross-border...

The death poems of Vietnamese Buddhist monks from the period of Lý-Trân (9th-13th century)
Ičo, Ján ; Lomová, Olga (advisor) ; Olivová, Lucie (referee) ; Hlavatá, Lucie (referee)
This work deals with poetry spoken by Vietnamese Buddhist monks shortly before their death during the reign of the Lý and Trn dynasties. The work analysis the assumption that Vietnamese death poetry constitues a complex unity and sets it ina certain social and historical background. It proves that the circumstances under which the poems were created are possibly their most distinguishing characteristics. All the authors belonged to the two Zen schools founded by Wúyántng and Vinitaruci. The work is divided into two parts. The first part attempts to define this kind of poetry and describes the context associated with it. Old Vietnamese literature written in Chinese is still quite unknown area. Furthermore, it is still not clear whether it should be considered to be "Vietnamese" or "foreign." The interest in this literary production has started quite recently. It is based on the work of French school of the Far East (EFEO). In present-day Vietnam, the research on the subject of Vietnamese literature written in Chinese cumulates in the Institute of Chinese and Nôm studies (Vin nghin cu Hán Nôm). Buddhism in South- East Asia has a long tradition. In Vietnam, between 10 th and 13 th century it was widely spread and enjoyed a special status. It was favored by government circles and popular among...
European and Far East bookbinding as a source of education at secondary schools and art universites
Hybner, Jan ; Daniel, Ladislav (advisor) ; Hazuková, Helena (referee) ; Olivová, Lucie (referee)
Doctoral thesis European and Far East bookbinding as a source of education at secondary schools and art universities Jan Hybner Anotation: This dissertation is intended especially for teachers of bookbinding at art schools and their students. It presents the construction of a book bound as a tool for artistic processing of a book alignment. The construction will be presented as a set of individual structural components. The text follows the previous publication - Stavíme knižní vazbu/Construction of Book Bound (?) (Hybner, 2015), in which the structural components were defined. Now they should be presented in their field, artistic and technological context. Work with the structural components is inspired by the pedagogical methods of Bauhaus, which are based on the construction of an art work from the elementary artistic components. The structural components of a book bound are used as parts of a building kit. Artistic value of the object is achieved by combining components into functional and aesthetic units. The "pre-school" of the elementary components is followed by their use in creative processing of a book bound. The art work with construction is developed through thematic tasks. The use of functional components as art components is generally applied in applied art. The concept based on teaching of...
