Day dreaming

Annotation: Kaločová, V.: Day dreaming /MA thesis/ Praga 2010 - The Charles University, Pedagogical Faculty, Department od Art Education This work studies the area of day dreaming in the context of general education as well as visual arts education. It views day dreaming mainly as a device to develop creative thinking, and highlights its contribution to and importance for education as well as for personal character development, pointing out also the negative sides. In this thesis day dreaming is defined within psychology, pedagogy and artphiletics in a way that could be inspiring and contributing for education. In visual arts, dreaming is stressed especially there where painting coincides with poetry, and where it opens doors leading to creation of new worlds between consciousness and unconsciousness. Furthermore, this work deals with so-called "artwork dreaming", as a preparatory phase of artworks. The main issue of the theoretical part is poetics of day dreaming, which, as well as this work, tries to develop personal courage for creative thinking. Poetic dreaming is viewed as the highest, which contrives to stimulate us, harmonizes our senses, and helps us dwell in this world. Play and toy in contemporary art

My thesis concentrates on the game, the playfulness and the toy. At first, I was searching for where these topics were most common and how they effected our lives generally. I presented some of the definitions. Then I worked more with these definitions and I put them into a connection with the art and the padegogy. Later I made a separated point of the role of the game, the playfulness and the toy in the visual art. I introduced some artist, who have been using the topics of mainly the game and the playfulness in their art work. The toy was presented more like the theme of the art works. The final part concentrates on the visual art project, which is prepared for children at age eight to ten years. One of the range was introduced deeply. n this range present individual lessons, one of them is showed in detail. This lesson is named The painting by the soap bubbles and I had been taught it at The basic art school Na Proseku. After this lesson I wrote reflection of it. Whole thesis is ilustrated by the pictures. In the conclusion I try to summarize knowledge I reached.

Body Decoration with the Focus on Jewellery

This thesis focuses on the issue of body decoration, its meaning and function in culture and society. Main interest of this thesis is aimed on jewellery and its field of the visual state. Thesis divides main issue into following points: selection of the main functions of each kind of jewellery, material and technology, world point of view of cultures, main principles of its order, and main thematic fields. At the end of the thesis is briefly sketched changing approach to the genuine author jewellery. Thesis includes examples based on jewellery history accompanied by pictures and drawings. European tradition is stressed throughout all thesis. The thesis aims on the issue of cultural and social background and its influence on visual state of jewellery. The didactical part includes description of the possibilities in the field of pedagogical activity in the field described in the main part of paper.

The work focuses on the evaluation Rool mask and costume in human life and their influence on individuality, personality. The need for transformation of individuals with regard to public space in everyday life is reflective of his inner world and falls on his psyche and identity. In my project I looked at myself as an ordinary person with specific and feelings of my own destiny. So I chose a simple white background. I reflected experience in the theoretical part. I chose the photos for me something important. moments related to the momentary internal experience in my life. I focused exclusively on personal and internal experience.

The Countryside - Changes in Sign and Structure in Creative Expression

The thesis deals with transformations of attribute and structure in visual pictures of landscape from 19th century till today. It observes diversity of references for definition of landscape, which are reflected in own creative part. The thesis considers an element of horizon and relation between visual and language interpretation in this context. The didactic part includes some creative motives that incite sensibility and complex perception by all sensorium. Space and Reality in Artistic Paitings

This thesis, regarding the possibilities of space constructing in panitings, presents various settled forms of displaying the reality on examples. These examples are representative of different artistic epoches. The firsts part "Resources of space constructing in artistic painting", includes the treatise concerning the main principles of space as it applies to painting. It also includes a short essays about other contexts related to artistic paintings. This part of the thesis has been compiled from different critiques of individual works illustrating different aspects of representation in multi-dimentional space. The second part "Language of Art" is a resume of the survey how students understand paitings and it also contains a suggestion of a didactic application. The third part "Space and reality in Art, theoretic and illusional space" takes the practical part of this thesis to a new level and combines it with theory, while at the same time adding a detailed description of creating a diptych (2 part painting)

The Colour Embracement - Victim to Colour?

This work is focused on color exploration in relation to sciences, arts and even to individual. Research of color preferences is included. Diploma work purpose is to show color as complicated phenomenon, which is possibly diffused in all life spheres. Collection of six figurative paintworks is included. This work emphasises the must of multi-branch color observation. Also it brings surprising research results - preffering colours by responders (age 15-18 ) does not depend on gender.

Food (Transformations of sign and structure in the artistic presentation of the topic)

On the example of "turkey ham" this theoretical study illustrates the phenomena of alienation, loss of identity, growing artificiality, spreading of imitations; falling apart of concepts. It discusses the historical and social bases of the concept of "turkey ham", and concludes its absurdity. It also examines social and visual aspects of food and eating and transformations of its visual presentation. The aim of the didactic part is through the topic of food and eating to bring pupils to a fuller experiencing of the surrounding world and thinking about it.

Emptiness

Naše civilizace (právě pomocí onoho - zaplaťpánbůh! - aktivního přístupu) neustále produkuje obrazy, myšlenky, informace, zboží a tak dále. Podstatné se mísí s nadbytečným. Někdy jako by hrozilo, že nás toto všechno zaplaví. A v tom tkví druhý velký úkol našince - nepodlehnout panice a najít nějakou mapu, která mu vytyčí alespoň přibližný směr cesty životem. Nenechat se pak zlákat mapami, které vedou k růžové budoucnosti, instantní, bezproblémové a jednoduché. Smířit se s tím, že krása života už zkrátka vězí v jeho složitosti a v překážkách, které jsou nám stavěny do cesty. Poznat "cíl cílů" a všechny ostatní cíle proměnit v pouhé prostředky. A přitom se nezbláznit z emocionální, smyslové a významové prázdnoty, která na nás z toho všeho zírá.
