Němeček, Petr ; Řezníček, Ivo (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with acceleration of geometrical image transforms using the GPU and NVIDIA (R) CUDA TM architecture. Time critical parts of the code are moved on the GPU and executed in parallel. One of the results is a demonstrational application for performance comparison of both architectures: the CPU, and GPU in combination with the CPU. As a reference implementation, there are used highly optimized routines from the OpenCV library, made by the Intel company.

DEVELOPMENT OF AN ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOUR IN CAUSED BY ICT
Tichý, Ondřej ; Hynek, Josef (referee) ; Mikoláš, Zdeněk (referee) ; Půža, Bedřich (referee) ; Němeček, Petr (advisor)
The thesis covers a research into the relationship between the Czech organizations and employees and modern information and communication technologies (abbreviated as ICT). From the perspective of organizations, the research focuses on the specific technologies that have been implemented in recent years. How have the technologies been proved and whether they managed to influence an organizational structure of companies. The research is also interested in the impact of these technologies on employees, especially on their productivity. The research, carried out between foreign articles, showed that in countries such as China or USA people suffered from a technostress. The technostess could be described as a stress induced by these technologies. Then, the technostress has a negative impact to the mentioned labor productivity. The introductory part of the text contains secondary research, which focuses on two basic topics. The first part concerns the description of an organization. It indicates what that organization is, and yet the historical opinions on the organizations are also described here. Furthermore, there is described the term like an organizational behavior and its integration into the functioning of the organization. Followed by a section, which defines the position of the individual within the organization. The next section contains a description of the organizational structures. The second basic topic within the secondary research describes ICT. But there is not described a technical specification, there is a description of their importance to the organization, including the relationship of employees of organizations to these technologies. The second half of this dissertation thesis contains two primary researches that are built on the previous theoretical part. Its objectives are: 1) the creation of a model which would includes ICT and also shows the ICT’s impact on a company; 2) to develop a methodology for determining the benefits of ICT to the company and to set them on the basis of the results of the research carried out in this thesis; 3) to identify the latest trends in the implementation of ICT in organizations in the ICT sector in the Czech Republic; 4) to determine whether the current organizational structures of the examined companies are affected by ICT; 5) to ascertain whether the modern ICT affect Czech employees in a negative way, so that caused their lower productivity; and 6) make some recommendations regarding the implementation of ICT for other companies in the Czech Republic. The result of the thesis is the synthesis of knowledge acquired on the basis of the analytical part. During the data collection the inductive and deductive methods were used and the both studies yielded the following conclusions. The employees who use these technologies, do not mostly suffer from the technostress, despite the fact that there was proved a weak dependence between the technostress and a lower labor productivity by the statistical test. The research into the organization also showed that larger Czech companies from the ICT sector tend to focus on the short-term benefits within acquisition of the new ICT. The examined link between the ICT and organizational structures of companies was not demonstrated. The further evaluation showed that the companies mostly acquired software, which was specially developed for them. Finally, it can be considered as a trend in the acquisition of the new ICT to the Czech organizations.

The main reason for choosing this topic were results of prime study of the target group of companies which has proved that companies do have trouble not just with integration but especially with implementation of the lean manufacturing methods. This is the reason why concrete conditions and basic principles need to be defined to show how to proceed. The objective of this dissertation thesis is to suggest the model of integration of lean manufacturing tools with optional environmental management tool and as the lean manufacturing tools were chosen methods of lean management in production and as an optional environmental tool was chosen system of environmental management based on norm ISO 14 001. For this area of interest the primary and secondary research was used. Based on knowledge from detailed research of Czech and foreign literary sources a survey and guided interview was started with companies, which are focused on electric motor production. The thesis contains a detailed evaluation of empirical research with testing of stated hypothesis, based on which the verbal model of the integration of the lean manufacturing tools with the environmental management system is assembled. The implantation based on the suggested verbal model of the integration in the company should lead not just to the relationship improvement between the company and the environment but also to better understanding of the relationship of two independent kinds of company management leading to saving money, working environment improvement, productivity increase or ecological onus decrease. The benefits can be seen in theoretical, practical and also pedagogical level.

Trends of organizational structures development
Semorádová, Petra ; Němeček, Petr (advisor)
Most of already described theoretical principles related to creation of organizational structure were defined and used in mass (industrial) production environment which was quite stabile. As a consequence of all changes driven by globalization and spread of using information technologies, new, dynamic form of organizational structure is needed - virtual organizational structure. The basic concept of the virtual organization structure was introduced during late 80's, however clear definition of the virtual management has not been presented yet. This fact can be termed as the main trigger and reason for composing the Thesis. At first, literature sources were reviewed in order to determine trends of the organizational structure’s development. Based on the information extracted from secondary review, objectives of the Thesis were set and three hypotheses were modeled to be confirmed or disconfirmed. Consequently, primary research was carried out to gain principal data concerning to the focus of the research. Theoretical contribution of the Thesis can be found in the complex summary of various aspects related to the virtual organizational structure. Moreover, the Thesis includes definition of the virtual organizational structure term, names its key characteristics, advantages and disadvantages and thereto presents the typology of the virtual organizational structure. Upon to the primary data obtained from the research it was confirmed that no best practices are available although it would be welcomed. With this in mind, the main purpose of the Thesis was met by defining steps to be taken in order to use the virtual organizational structure in practice. The outcomes of the primary research and the best practices composed might be used within lectures held at Faculty of Business and Management, Brno University of Technology, however they eliminate theoretical non-clarities. Finally, there is number of relevant aspects for further research.
