Science Fiction and the Prediction of Technology, Past and Present

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to examine if science fiction can predict future technologies. The first chapter introduces science fiction writers of the 19th and 20th centuries, who predicted a variety of technological inventions, that can be found in the present. The second chapter deals with science fiction cinematography, outlined and supported by examples taken from science fiction films and television series. The last chapter is based on diverse technological inventions of the present, which are described and demonstrated by the directors of science fiction movies and which are considered as the most likely examples that can be implemented in the near future. The conclusion describes the outcomes of the conducted studies and defines possible development in the future.

Postupy využití a aplikace biochemických přípravků při řešení kvality vodního prostředí a stavu sedimentů vodních prvků v rámci památkové péče

Památkový postup obsahuje poznatky a návod k využití biologických a biochemických přípravků, které by podle dosažených zkušeností měly přispět k úpravě nevyhovujícího stavu vodního prostředí z hlediska kvality vody, nadměrného růstu řas, zvýšení zákalu, zápachu a zhoršení podmínek pro život ryb. Výskyt těchto potíží bývá spojen s rozkolísáním obsahu kyslíku a pH vody, výskytem toxických forem kovů, amoniaku apod. Jedna z částí je věnována možnosti aplikace přípravků k redukci organické složky sedimentů a snížení jejich objemu. Uvedena jsou doporučení k provedení průzkumu sedimentů, analýze jejich složení a stanovení vhodného postupu aplikace přípravků. Součástí památkového postupu je dokumentace k výrobě kultivačního zařízení pro biologické přípravky, popis jeho provozu a údržby.

Use of GPS in the Car Industry Oriented on Self-driving Vehicles

This bachelor thesis focuses on the use of GPS in the automotive industry with a focus on unmanned vehicles. The aim was mainly to approach the GPS system but also other temporary systems, and to describe and characterize autonomous vehicles and all the hardware and software they use. The first half of the work characterizes the GPS in great detail so that the reader gets to know how the navigation system works. In the second part of this work, the reader will learn about autonomous vehicles, to which levels we divide them and which systems are used. Reader will also learn the advantages and disadvantages of these vehicles, the main differences between today's cars and autonomous cars. At the end of this work is intelligent transport and its benefits, but also a insight into the future of transport and vehicles.

The aim of this work to describe Information and Communication Technologies used in the 2016 United Kingdom European Union membership referendum. This thesis provides a description of referendums in the UK. Following is the general description of Information and Communication Technologies. The role of AggregateIQ in the 2016 United Kingdom European Union membership referendum is explained. The description of the combination of Big Data and Psychographics is provided, additionally, their role in the 2016 United Kingdom European Union membership referendum.is explained. Furthermore, the possible effect of the Information and Communication Technologies on later democratic elections is discussed.

Gender Stereotypes in Gaming Environment

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of gender stereotypes in the storyline and design of video games. Having been essential for the understanding of the video game industry and the presence of gender stereotypes in it, there are also listed key historical moments. It gives an opportunity to see how real-world events and public opinion influence video games, and produce or reduce gender stereotypes in them. The thesis offers an insight into the matter of over-sexualisation of both men and women, including how it may affect a self-perception of various people. The issue of sexualisation is considered from several perspectives, among which there is a cultural difference between East and West countries. Moreover, a list of stereotypical gender roles into which people are often put is presented in this paper. It brings light onto the consequences that emerge from the roles.

The Juno Mission to Jupiter

The semestral thesis focuses on the exploration of the planet Jupiter by the Juno spacecraft. In this paper are outlined missions to Jupiter prior the Juno with the goals they achieved. Then the work focuses solely on the Juno mission, whose goal is to understand the origin and formation of Jupiter. Furthermore, is described mission timeline since launch to the mission deorbit. Following with the description of the spacecraft construction design and the various subsystem, along with the nine instruments implemented for the planet’s investigation. are described and comment preliminary results of the Juno mission.

Life management of power oil transformer

To understand the significance of the life management process concerning power oil transformers, at first, it is essential to realise their role in the electrical grid. They are primarily used to interface step up and step down voltages in the transmission and distribution system according to the contemporary needs. The unreliability of power oil transformers can disrupt the stability of the electric power supply, which represents significant economic and technical losses for companies that manage this type of equipment. Therefore, I decided to write a thesis that provides an overview about the life management process by describing its economic benefits along with technical diagnostics, which help to identify incipient defects at their early stages that may arise during the operation of power oil transformers. The main aim of this thesis is to describe and prove the importance of the life management process itself and the need to analyse transformer parameters by diagnostic methods to detect possible defects. The practical part of the thesis focuses on proposing the most suitable diagnostic methods for measuring the selected parameters of the chosen power oil transformer. The selected parameters are then analysed, and the overall condition of the chosen power oil transformer is estimated.

Zásady udržitelnosti rybí obsádky vodních prvků kulturních památek a historických sídel

Předmětem památkového postupu je uvést do praxe vhodné a ověřené zásady složení rybích obsádek vodních prvků kulturních památek, jak pro produkční rybníky a nádrže, tak pro okrasné nádrže a bazény. Současně přináší informace o metodách řízení rybích obsádek, zásadách vysazování dravých ryb, využití ryb k biomelioraci prostředí vodních prvků. Přehledně uvádí i doporučení k údržbě a péči o chované ryby. Aby toho bylo možné dosáhnout, zahrnuje i část zaměřenou na stanovení a popis vhodného přístupu řešení ke zlepšení stavu vod, včetně kvality vody, a zajištění udržitelnosti rybí obsádky. Součástí památkového postupu je i stručný rozbor problematiky degradace prostředí nádrží a rybníků z pohledu přežití ryb, vlivem znečištění a eutrofizace vod. Popisuje i jednotlivé příčiny způsobující nevhodný stav vodního prostředí.

Vybrané nutrienty v etiologii, prevenci a léčbě obezity

VYBRANÉ NUTRIENTY V ETIOLOGII, PREVENCI A LÉČBĚ OBEZITY Pandemie obezity ve 21 století je dána obezitogenním prostředím, které napomáhá rozvoji pozitivní energetické bilance, kdy příjem energie jedince chronicky převyšuje jeho energetickou potřebu, tedy energetický výdej. Dochází ke zvýšení tělesné hmotnosti zvýšeným či abnormálním zastoupením tělesného tuku v organismu. Prevence rozvoje obezity je zacílena na dosažení energetické rovnováhy, v případě již rozvinuté nadváhy nebo obezity spočívá léčba v navození a po určitou dobu udržení negativní energetické bilance, tedy stimulace energetického výdeje a snížení energetického příjmu. Přijímaná strava pak určuje nejen energetický příjem, ale její jednotlivé nutrienty mohou částečně ovlivňovat i energetický výdej a fyziologii tukové tkáně. Cílem této práce je popsat a experimentálně ověřit některé nutrienty, které by mohly napomáhat k váhové redukci a fyziologické funkci tukové tkáně. Na podkladě literárních údajů bylo zvažováno 19 účinných látek nebo směsí. Za nejvhodnější k experimentu byla zvolena směs ω-3 polynenasycených mastných kyselin (ω-3 PMK ), eikosapentaenové a dokosahexaenové, v denní dávce 0,6 g, ve formě tuku mořských ryb v certifikovaném doplňku stravy.
