Possibilities of special educational diagnostis for children with multiple disabilities

This diploma thesis deals with a view to the special pedagogical diagnostic issue accordance to the children with multiple disabilities. By these children whose disability is mostly the hardest character is making special pedagogical diagnostic as much as correct and accurate very difficult. This diagnostic is very important for developing an individual plan of a special pedagogical intervention. The work is focused on both the individual areas of special pedagogical diagnostic and the complex diagnostic tools. In these areas are mentioned the methods and the materials of a foreign literature which is possible to use with a group of children with multiple disabilities. In the second part of the thesis are developed the results of a survey which brings a practical look to this issue. All these collected knowledge and experience should have become the benefit which should have been a starting point for searching other partial methods. These methods are dealing, for now, with still newly making issue of special pedagogical diagnostics of children with multiple disabilities.
Possibilities utilization of features of jenaplan in Czech special education

This thesis deals with the development of new education and alternative education. It describes the origins and the development of the most known and the most frequent alternative schools in Western civilisation. The thesis follows the interconnection between alternative schools, their common features and objectives. Furthermore, the thesis focuses in greater detail on one type of the alternative education known as jenaplan. It describes the characteristics typical for schools using jenaplan and it compares alternative education system in Holland and in the Czech republic. The aim of this research is to find possible utilization of features of jenaplan in special education. The thesis observes also those features that are important for jenaplan and are already employed in special schools. The last question of the research is the possibility to integrate a pupil with disabilities in elementary school that uses jenaplan. The basic data for this research come from interviews with experienced special educators, who teach in special schools for disabled children with mental disabilities, and from interviews with educators who are familiar with jenaplan. Evaluation of the UPSIT olfactory test for the purpose of targeted special educational intervention

This thesis talks about the sense of smell and its role in everyone's life. It deals with possible differences in the olfactory ability of people with visual impairment in comparison to those with no impairment. This work is divided into two main parts - theoretical and practical - and is structured into 6 main chapters. The first part describes the role of smell from a historical point of view, as well as the causes and results of its defects. Also described is the act of processing smell with specific reference to visually impaired people. The second part describes the olfactory test UPSIT and its evaluated results. The main goal of this thesis is to compare the olfactory abilities of people with visual impairment and people wihout any, while focusing on the diference between them.
Integration proglems of foreignes children into education system of the Czech republic

Child with Visual Impairment in Czech Classes in Primary School

The objective of this dissertation was creating tactile materials and books - K.J. Erben Dlouhý, Široký a Bystrozraký, for Czech classes in primary school. The objective group were composed of both children with visual impairment and seeing children. Learning materials mean to be by both touch and sight. The materials show one of the effective devices, how to integrate seeing and visual impairment children, because both groups can use the materials. They were drafted to be an aid for special education. The materials were elaborated from curriculum guidelines of language education according to RVP ZV. The theoretical part of this dissertation demonstrates a legislative frame work for integration children with visual impairment and the necessity of tactile education in Czech classes. It then describes rules, that are important for making tactile graphics, according to the principes of haptisation and multisensorial access for children with an impairment. The practical part of the work was creating tactile materials, that involved allowing children and try them. Six children and one adult tested the materials. they were then interviewed about the materials. Based on the interviews, the materials were minorly alfered to their final form.

Pavlína Šumníková, Ph.D., Praha 2010 ANNOTATION: The work deals with identifying the level of olfactory perception among people with severe visual impairment. The aim is to compare the function of olfactory discrimination and olfactory threshold sensitivity among persons with congenital or acquired visual handicap. The theoretical section presents the basic anatomical and physiological characteristics of the olfactory system, the list of disorders of smell and olfactory testing methods in clinical practice, and a brief account of visual impairments. The empirical investigation is carried out using standardized tests, olfactory discrimination function is measured by a test of the University of Pennsylvania Smell Identification Test (UPSIT), olfactory perception threshold using the Smell Threshold Test (STT). The thesis describes in detail both the methods and characteristics of groups of test subjects. In the analytical part it focuses on the comparison of test results among persons with congenital or acquired severe visual impairment.

Physical education for pupils with physical disability on the first grade of basic school

My dissertation occupies by physical education for pupils with physical disability. The aim of this dissertation is to chart the educational process at physical education of pupils with physical disability and compare theory with current practice at schools. Teoretic part of the dissertation attends to personality of the teacher and pupil, didactics and methodics of development motoric abilities and skills of pupil with physical disability. It deals with teaching methods, with forms of organization and with structure of unit of physical education, with motivation, evaluation and classification of pupils. Practical part of dissertation explores problems in physical education from a teacher's view. It maps over preparation of the teacher to physical education, the proportion of pupils, which attend to physical education and pupils, which don't and number of assistants in classes. It collects information about the most freguently kinds of motivation and problems which the teacher meets in the physical education. Sexual education of pupils with a sight handicap

The goal of the diploma thesis is to arrange a plan for sexual education at the school for visually impaired children. The work on the diploma thesis is grounded with the experience of primary prevention programs, experienced working with visually impaired people and with the skilled literature. In the first part, the development of sexual interests in the childhood is compared to the specific development of the one with visual impairment. Afterwards the influence of the eye defect to the visually impaired person is described. The next section is given to the approach to the sexual education through the social learning conception of visually impaired and through setting concern topics of the general educational programme together. Based on the methodological principles for the sexual education, the model of sexual education hour in different class groups with its analysis is presented. After that the subjective sight of visually impaired people on the sexual education problematic is shown by the short questionnaire assessment. Theoretical - practical knowledges are used to arrange blocks of different kind of topics for the school lesson filled with sexual education.
