Trnková, Zuzana ; Kopecký, Martin (advisor) ; Froněk, Jan (referee)
Recognizing the actuality of diverse society we live in, my thesis aims to describe the relation between integration of migrants and education. Firstly I am trying to describe the learning from everyday life that occurs in new social context for a newcoming migrant. Based on this notion I evaluate the possibility of intentional education that could ease and support adaptation process. I try to identify core needs and themes that educational activities should comprehend to fulfil the desired form of education. Later I am questioning to which extent is possible to influence an integration process by educational action. Second part of the thesis is dedicated to a European project called Libraries for All which was aimed to promote upgrade of multicultural services in local public libraries. My aim is to present the current trend in librarianship and migrant work within culturally diverse societies.

Professional competencies of experiential learning instructor
Nováková, Kamila ; Mužík, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Froněk, Jan (referee)
The main goal of this dissertation is to provide information about professional competencies of the experiential learning instructor. I would like to focus on the competencies which make him able to present himself as an educator at experiential courses organized for companies. Learning through the experience is regarded as a very progressive and often applied access to adult education. Regarding the company practice, this methodological concept is most often used for soft skills development, specifically for individuals and teams on occasion of teambuilding trainings. If we omit the participants, one of the most crucial roles during the whole process is dedicated to the instructor. Apart from the names as tutor, trainer or lecturer is the name instructor used commonly for the educator in the specific area of experiential teambuilding courses. The whole learning process is held in the instructor's hands, while they are constantly supporting participants on their way to acquire new knowledge, skills and information. In the ideal state, we develop those of the participants' competencies which were specified at the preparation process of targeting. On Czech market we can find a group of educational companies that sell particular teambuilding programs to corporate clients. Each of them dispose of its own...
Effect of polymerization light units on setting of composite materials with different photoinitiator systems
Froněk, Jan ; Bradna, Pavel (advisor) ; Veverka, Jan (referee)
The work is focused on monitoring the impact of several different types of polymerization lamps to hardening of dimethacrylate based composite materials with camphorquinone and acylphoshine oxide initiation systems and epoxy based composite material. Variable parameters of the polymerization lamps were light output power, the emission spectrum, the thermal emission and the power distribution across the face of light guides. Extent of polymerization was evaluated by measuring the surface hardness, parameters of lamps were evaluated by radiometric methods, the temperature change by a thermocouple. The power distribution across the face of light guides was measured by image analysis and verified by measuring the distribution of hardness in the irradiated area of polymerized material. The goal was to obtain independent data on the influence of controlled parameters on the polymerization of composite materials used in dentistry, with an impact on the life of composite reconstruction of teeth and body burden of substances leached from poorly polymerized material.
Elements of play in adult education
Froněk, Jan ; Svatoš, Vladimír (referee) ; Šerák, Michal (advisor)
A "play" or a "game" are both terms that are frequently used in the field of adult education. Nevertheless, they have several different meanings, and a variety of diverse activities can be subsumed under them. This thesis focuses on the definition of the term "play" and also on the differentiation between a "play" and an "activity with elements of play". Games and plays are presented therein as an enriching part of our lives. The aim is to show the fact that for an adult educator the play is a phenomenon worth dealing with. Another part of the thesis attempts to categorise the types of games and plays frequently used in adult education. The largest section of the paper presents "reviewing" of methods with elements of play as an essential skill of an experiential trainer. Reviewing enables the learner to benefit from taking part in the activity and to transfer the experience into his/her further life.
Acquiring and developing of managerial competencies
Matulová, Michaela ; Froněk, Jan (referee) ; Veteška, Jaroslav (advisor)
My dissertation addresses the need for education management, as well as the need for developing management competencies. The aim of this dissertation is to find out what attitudes individual authors have towards management competencies. These are being increasingly used in the field of human resource management, namely in the competency-based management. This competency model of HR is discussed here. At the same time, I consider whether it brings any contribution to work experience. I also mention the issue of ethics in management which I regard as one of the most important management competencies. Other areas are creativity and problem solving. Every manager is required to pay special attention to them, especially in these difficult times. Moreover, I try to draw attention to the necessity of systematic approach to in-company education and organization development.
