International context of a school ICT coordinator

This thesis debates differences of an ICT coordinator's work in different countries. In its theoretical part, it examines work of an ICT coordinator and If and how this role could be separated to methodical (pedagogical) work and coordinating work and emphasizes how important it is to separate this role from a work of a technician. This work also brings results of various international researches from this field and compares them with a research done in the Czech Republic. Comparing the results reveals that situation of Czech ICT coordinators does not differ in most points from their international counterparts. The two areas that show differences is that the Czech coordinators are more often expected to cover work of a an IT technican and more issues with quality of hardware and internet connection. TITLE: The technological support of the Storytelling teaching method AUTHOR: Jan Bouchner DEPARTMENT: Department of information technology and technical education SUPERVISOR: Ing. Bořivoj Brdička, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The subject of this dissertation is the use of digital technologies to support storytelling in the classroom. This thesis aims to introduce storytelling as an innovative method based on the principles of modern pedagogy, especially social constructivism, and determine the role of this methodology in the current curriculum. Another objective is to provide a comprehensive overview of methods and activities of digital storytelling including the examples of hardware and software instruments. Their value for practical use in digital storytelling was verified. The analysis of scientific literature was used in the theoretical part of this study. The work also includes the description of two cases of implementation and a description of their realization. Bořivoj Brdička, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: Use of podcast as an educational medium is the principal and crucial topic of this thesis. The diploma thesis is focused on history and development of this phenomenon and points to the possibilities of podcast use at primary schools. The goal of this thesis is to show not only the advantages and benefit of the podcast for pupils and the teacher, but also to highlight the possible problems during its use and introduction. The theoretical part is dealing with aspects and podcast use at schools and provides an overview of existing researches. The other part is giving us an overview of existing solutions and good examples of practice at Czech schools and schools in abroad. The main part represents an experiment description including own solution proposal used at the primary school in Staňkov. This thesis can serve as a podcast guide for other possible interested persons striving for similar activities. Authoring systems for the development of multimedia learning objects in teacher's preparation

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of multimedia learning objects and authoring systems for its design. In the form of a qualitative survey the paper discovers the most frequent practice teachers' requirements for these objects and systems. Subsequently, the paper carries out theoretical analysis of commonly available authoring systems for multimedia learning object creation and performs their evaluation from the point of view of the identified requirements. After that, the thesis notes that there is no authoring system available on the market that would adequately meet the requirements identified. Therefore, the paper works on the design and realization of such a system. Finally, the designed and implemented system is deployed in a real educational environment and its contribution to the teacher's work is validated by accomplished action research.
ICT support of education in Youth diagnostic centers

The thesis is focused on an investigation of the benefit evoked by the ICT supported connected instruction between the Child Diagnostic Institute (the DDU) and the tribal school of a pupil, who comes to DDU for a voluntary diagnostic stay (DDP). The aim of this work is to determine an interest in this project among teachers, both from DDU and teachers from primary schools, whose pupils attended the DDU. The method of research is an online survey among teachers from DDU and teachers from schools outside the Diagnostic Institute who have experience with the DDU clients. The results are evaluated separately for teachers from DDU and teachers from other primary schools that have experiences with those pupils.

TITLE: Educational programs in the www enviroment ABSTRACT: The aim of this work is to analyze the availability of educational web site aimed at teaching media and evaluate them on the basis of a given set of criteria and to moni- tor the situation in secondary schools in terms of the use of tutorials on the web. Sub- sequently, a methodology of the previous educational sites is developed. It is also deployed in the teaching and verified in the practice, thus obtaining feedback, which will serve to further develop this environment. New Trends in the Field of Digital Technology Usage

This thesis deals with teaching the digital technology within the ISCED 2 education. The theoretical part monitors the current state of teaching these technologies in the Czech Republic and two European Union states, Ireland and the United Kingdom. The practical part includes a conception of digital technology teaching, including a methodical manual for teachers and a working environment for students, verification of this conception in practice and drawing conclusions.

Bořivoj Brdička, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This bachelor's thesis "The influence of technology on the children's leisure time development" deals with the influence of information and communication technologies on the way of spending leisure time of children and youth. The work includes a comparison of several studies dealing with this issue. The thesis is also considering potential impact of ICT on the development of children, particularly in connection with playing computer games and engaging in social networking. The practical part contains survey conducted in primary school children aged 7-15 years followed by interpretation of results. The conclusion contains recommendations for minimizing the risks for children that information and communication technologies may represent.
