Technical aspects of cochlear implants in people with severe hearing impairment

The objective of this work is to specify the technical aspects of cochlear implants in relationship to their impact on their users. The main contribution of this work is that through the description of individual parts of an implant and of the substance of its operation it draws attention to the impact of its usage on the user themselves. Simultaneously, by describing the current news in the area of cochlear implants it draws attention to the continuous development of this neuroprotheses and its elements. The bachelor's thesis is aimed at the division of individual parts of the cochlear implant and their technical specifications. In the thesis the core of the sound transmission and the operation of the implant and its adjusting are described. The attention is paid to the selection of the users of cochlear implants and approach of the community of the deaf people to this compensation aid. Limitations in the cochlear implant users form another part of this work. The individual theoretical pieces of information are interspersed with testimonies of the users themselves who express their attitudes and experience in individual areas of everyday life. Ergotherapy for pupils in the pracitcal classes

Bachelor Work called Ergotherapy for pupils in the practical classes looks into possibilities of using ergotherapy to the individual's development of social skills through games and handcrafts aktivity in practical classes pupils diagnosed with intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities and behavioral and sociocultural disadvantage pupils. The goal of work is to design an ergotherapy program for the pupils of practical classes, and demonstrate meaningfulness of using of ergotherapy for the development of social skills and checking its success through research methods of direct work with pupils and observation. The research results show improvements these pupils in the desired area.
Acceptance of visual impairment in working age

Bachelor thesis is manipulated in theoretical-empirical plain. Work treats about problems of persons who came by their eyesight during their lifetime. Theoretical part is divided to three head chapters. First chapter characterizes productive age and its subchapters describe acceptation and non-acceptation of eyesight disorders and personality of a sightless. Second chapter is oriented into eyesight disorders and visual defects. Third chapter provides look at various barriers with employing of people with eyesight disorder in productive age. Empirical part of this work is described in fourth chapter and is based on interpretation and analysis of interview with visually impaired person. The main aim of interview was to determine how visually impaired person can countervail with eyesight disorder at adulthood. Work is filled up by used literature and additions.
Specifics of speech therapy on children with cochlear implants

Bachelors work: "Specifics of speech therapy for children with a cochlear implant" engages in the issue of children's hearing impairment and in its possible compensation with cochlear implant. It sets an objective of bringing basic information regarding the cochlear implantation issue and the consequent speech therapy, it presents basic methods and principles of work with children, supported by practical exercises. First part of the work consisting of mainly theoretical information summarizes findings regarding hearing impairment, cochlear implant, the pre-implantation period and the whole rehabilitation process after the implantation, including the consequent speech therapy. Second, research part of the work, is focused on outcomes of speech therapy and the speech development of children with cochlear implant and contains case studies of three children processed using qualitative research methods, specifically the dialogue and the observation method
Individual integration of pupils with specific learning difficulties in primary school

Bachelor thesis addresses the up-to-date issue of "Individual integration of pupils with specific learning disabilities in primary school". It is divided into theory and practical part. The theory part, worked out from specialized source, defines specific learning disabilities and describes its classification, symptoms, reeducation of specific learning disabilities in general . The practical part describes an example of good practice - Táborská Elementary School, where individual integration of pupils along with specific learning disabilities takes place. It deals, in addition to the characteristics of schools, school counseling department and course integration and several specific examples of the integration.
Role of a Deaf Assistant in Primary Schools for pupils with Hearing Impairment

Thesis dealt with deaf assistants who work in primary school for pupils with hearing impairment. The aim was to find out their benefits for pupils with hearing impairment. The first chapters include introduction to the topic of hearing impairment, cultural minority the Deaf, development and education of students with hearing disabilities, focusing on the personality of the deaf assistant and his contribution in the educational process. Another part of the thesis deals with the research whose objective was to describe the influence of deaf assistant at a primary school for pupils with hearing impairment within the teaching process. The survey was carried out by observation in the classroom, where the deaf assistant worked primarily with the hearing teacher. As is clear from the survey results, the presence of a deaf assistant at a primary school for pupils with hearing impairment is of great importance for the development and education of pupils with hearing impairment in many ways.
Children with deafblindness: types of communication

Název v angličtině: Children with Deafblindness: Types of Communication Annotation: This diploma thesis deals with a view to the communication and to the types of communication according to the people with deafblindness, especially to the development of the communication by the children. The work is focused on both deafblindness and specifics which it brings to someone at childhood. There are also mentioned the most frequent types of communication by the people with deafblindness. In the second part of the thesis are developed the results of survey which brings a practical look to this issue. All these collected knowledge and experience could bring us closer to the life of one group of people with multiple disabilities - the people with deafblindness. Anotation TITLE: The Specific of Reading Ability of Young School Age Deaf Children - with a View of Using Adaptated Texts AUTHOR: Klára Ptáčková DEPARTMENT: Special Education SUPERVISOR: Doc. PhDr. Eva Souralová, Ph.D. This dissertation thesis is aimed at the reading ability of deaf children with a view of using adapted texts as a means of improving their reading competences. The thesis summarizes theoretical knowledge relating to a way of communicating and educating deaf pupils in connection with their reading ability, its specifics, development and difficulties. It is focused on adapted literary works, on the methodology of their creation and the different approaches to them. The research uses methods of quantitative analysis that contains systematic summary and evaluation of provided data in connection with the qualitative approach. By the method of text analysis were briefly demonstrated the principles of text modification for hearing children of young school age. In another part there was used an analysis of modified texts in light of their reading comprehension level (using of Mistrík's method). This diploma thesis deals with development of communicational skills in children with hearing impairments in preschool. In this case communication is considered to bean atribute of society and it alsosals with the basic of human communication. It presents hearing impairments, its classification and the posibilities of auditory prostheses. It dis scuses the development of human speech and the influence of hearing impairments on it, the possibilities of communication and education of children with hearing impairments. It al so deals with the importace of preschooleducation, and mainparts of rehabilitation in kindergarten (Holečkova street, Prague). There search answers, if this kindergarten possitivelyaffects the development of children's socialskills .
