Image of West-Berlin: From the search for its own identity to the commander of the front town, Willy Brandt
Novotná, Tereza ; Nigrin, Tomáš (advisor) ; Swider, Malgorzata (referee)
Title Image of West-Berlin: From the search for its own identity to the commander of the front town, Willy Brandt Abstract The post-war development of West Berlin was influenced by demographic and economic problems, but also by the fact that the city became a battlefield of the Cold War, where two political systems competed with each other. West Berlin undoubtedly had a symbolic value for the West and this fact provided the city with security guarantees. However, if West Berlin did not want to be satisfied with mere survival, it had to focus on an image policy that would make it a self-confident and attractive city. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the process of image building and at the same time try to interpret this development with the help of the concept of soft power. The hypothesis assumes that the main creator of the city's image was its mayor, Willy Brandt. Since the concept of image is not very methodically anchored in history as a field of study, the thesis combines find- ings from secondary literature from various fields and supplements them with Brandt's speeches, letters and articles from the newspaper Der Spiegel. The thesis concludes that the process of image building was already started during the war through the narrative of freedom, and Willy Brandt played an important role in it at...
Social work with Romany minority in Týn nad Vltavou
NOVOTNÁ, Tereza
The bachelor thesis presents an insight into social workwith the Roma minority in Týn nad Vltavou. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to determine the current implementation of social work with the Roma minority in Týn nad Vltavou. As a research question, I set out - what methods and techniques do social workers use when working with the Roma minority. A quality strategy, a method of questioning and a semi-structured interview technique were chosen for the research part. The research took place in the South Bohemian town of Týn nad Vltavou, where social workers from 4 different organizations were contacted. The research showed that social workers treat each client as a unique being, regardless of race, prejudice or stereotypes and do not make any distinction between majority and minority clients. Interview, field and community work are considered to be the most frequently applied methods and techniques. Approaches used by social workers, include psychosocial, group, client-oriented and task-oriented approaches. I see the scientific benefit of my bachelor's thesis in understanding the Roma minority, how to work with them as social workers as appropriately as possible and how to achieve full-fledged results. In my opinion, it would be appropriate to expand the offer of field services, as the natural environment of clients means success in social work, especially with the Roma minority. I also consider to be important a greater involvement of Roma fellow citizens in the Community Center of Belonging (Vltavotýnska), where they could jointly participate in activities within community work.

Source analysis and comparation of Feldenkrais inspired movement and visual stimulation using sLORETA
Novotná, Tereza ; Pánek, David (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee)
Title of thesis: Source analysis and comparation of Feldenkrais inspired movement and visual stimulation using sLORETA Objectives: The thesis aim is to evaluate intracerebral source activity during a simple arm movement inspired by Feldenkrais method and to compare it with a visual stimulation of the same movement presented in a clip and with an imagination of the same movement. The movement inspired by Feldenkrais method was simplified to a repeated flexion of the dominant arm. Source analysis was evaluated from EEG and processed using sLORETA program, Methods: To obtain the data, experimental group was put together containing 12 participants aged 22-60, (mean = 27.2), both genders included. Participants were subjected to one-off measurement by the EEG instrument. Feldenkrais inspired movement of a flexion of a dominant upper right arm was investigated. The experiment constisted of six parts: 1. native EEG record with eyes closed and open, 2. active flexion of the dominant upper arm with eyes closed, 3. active flexion of the dominant upper arm with eyes opened, 4. watching video presenting repeated upper arm flexion, 5. dominant upper arm flexion imagination with eyes closed. Every part lasted for two minutes. Between individuals parts was inserted a pause. Obtained EEG data were processed with...

Business models for emission management
Novotná, Tereza ; Kopa, Miloš (advisor) ; Lachout, Petr (referee)
This thesis focuses on multistage stochastic programming for CO2 emissions management models. It defines the multistage stochastic programming in general, portfolio selection problem with utility function but also with other new approaches such as using risk measures, chance constraint or second order stochastic dominance. For testing this models we need to also reformulate our problems to fit scenario tree which are generated. For some models we also need to reduce the dimension of scenario tree. Thus some techniques for scenario tree dimensionality reduction are discussed. We try to apply all these approaches to our data and get results on real data from power energy sector. For this sector, the decisions about allowances might be very important as they are not granted any allowances.
