The Brewery Museum in Pilsen: history, exhibitions and educational programmes

The master thesis of the Brewery Museum in Pilsen, its history, exhibitions and educational programmes, is divided into five chapters. The first chapter deals with the brief history of the Brewery Museum in Pilsen, its current and planned exhibitions and the museum's cooperation with the Pilsen breweries. The following chapter deals with museum pedagogy, in addition to legislation and important concepts, the reader will also read useful advice for creating educational programmes. The next three chapters deal with creating educational programmess commissioned by the Brewery Museum. The third and fourth chapters contain a description of tours with educational elements. One is entitled "Following the traces of ancient Pilsen with a four-legged friend" and in addition to an outline of Pilsen's history, during this tour pupils will learn a lot of information about the life of ordinary people in medieval cities. The second programme is entitled "How liquid bread was brewed in Pilsen" and contains activities leading to an understanding of beer brewing patterns and the importance of brewing for the development of the city of Pilsen. The fifth chapter describes an educational programme called "Na den bečvářem" and introduces pupils to the traditional craft of cooperage and its offshoots of beverage.
Pupils with different mother tongue and history teaching

The thesis deals with the issue of pupils with a different mother tongue and the difficulties they face in learning history. The theoretical part includes topics that affect pupils with different mother tongue in teaching, such as the legislation of the Czech Republic, the number of pupils with a different mother tongue in Czech Republic in terms of nationality, the current state of knowledge in the field of education of pupils with different mother tongue in the field of history. I also deal with the teaching subject of history and its specifics with regard to the given issue. The practical part includes a questionnaire survey among history teachers, which maps their experiences of teaching pupils with different mother tongue. The main focus of the practical part is a qualitative investigation among several history teachers and their pupils, conducted through interviews. The paper concludes with methodological recommendations for history teachers when working with pupils with different mother tongue. The Secret of Monastic Walls: Educational programmes for the Franciscan Monastery in Prague

The diploma thesis deals with the establishment and implementation of educational programs for the first grade of elementary schools on the basis of the principles and approaches of good interpretation in the environment of the living Franciscan monastery at the Church of the Virgin Mary of the Sněžné in Prague. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the methodology of good interpretation, st. Francis of Assisi, the Order of the Franciscans and the history of the Franciscan monastery, its origin and construction development. The Use Of Songs As A Didactic Tool In History Lessons

The use of music in the teaching of history brings new possibilities of working with a significant group of musical historical sources as well as modern song interpretations of historical events. This diploma thesis describes the using of songs as a didactic tool and summarizes appropriate ways and methods. Methodologically, the work is based on research using comparison, linguistic analysis and statistics. The thesis aims to summarize the possibilities of using songs in the teaching of history; how to choose appropriate songs and outline examples of what lessons look like using music. Other goals are to outline the possibilities of higher teaching efficiency using modern approaches and to open Czech history teaching to new methods and the overall use of music in history teaching, which are already used abroad. The result of the thesis is the finding that songs clearly contribute to the effectiveness of the teacher's efforts by making them more fun for the students. The fun of the lesson is connected, among other things, to the effectiveness of the teaching, and the teacher's goal is to make the teaching as effective as possible. Educational programs for the Archevita exhibition in Central Bohemian Museum in Roztoky near Prague

The diploma thesis focuses on a museum education. The aim is to create and test its own proposals for educational programs in the Central Bohemian Museum of Roztoky near Prague. The diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is devoted to the characteristics of the museum and examines the components of museum education such as teaching methods and organizational forms of teaching. It also deals with education and presentation of archaeological cultural heritage and describes education in the Central Bohemian Museum of Roztoky near Prague. The practical part focuses on the creation of two educational programs that follow the defined theoretical principles of the first part of the work. The educational programs are intended for pupils of the sixth grade of of primary school and are implemented in the exhibition Archevita - Footprints of Ages focused on the prehistoric period. The thesis describes the creation of both programs, the definition of the target group, the description of individual activities, records and evaluates their progress. Bedřich Hrozný and the Oriental Institute in Prague with help of the National Masaryk Fund

The rigorous work Bed ich Hrozný and the Oriental Institute in Prague with help of the National Masaryk Fund is about life and work of the old-oriental philologist and historian, important personality of Czechoslovakian social and academic life. The work describes mostly the foundation of the Oriental Institute in Prague and the first decades of its existence. The Oriental Institute has existed de facto since 1920, and de iure since 1922. However, the question remains, how much the letter of law was fulfilled. As the constitutive meeting, concerning foundation of the Oriental institute took place on March 1st , 1928. It also deals with the related activities such as the National Masaryk Fund, from which the Oriental Institute was co-financed, or the archaeological research of Bed ich Hrozný in Syria - tell Sheykh Sa ad and Tell Erfad and in Turkey - tell Kültepe. All of the archaeological findings of Bed ich Hrozný, which he brought to Prague, were not preserved till nowadays. When the findings came to possession of the National Gallery in Prague (except the Cappadocian tablets), they were provisionally deposited in the castle in Benešov nad Plou nicí. This publication is a follow-up to Part I of the methodology We are developing tradition or From interpretation to interpretation and its purpose is to provide ideas, inspiration and methodological procedures on how to supplement and transform established methods of presentation and interpretation of monuments, including forms that create a parallel or alternative to guided tours . MONASTERY CRISS-CROSSING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN OF PRE-SCHOOL AND YOUNGER SCHOOL AGE IN THE MONASTERY OF ST. AGNES

The diploma thesis is devoted to education and educational programs intended for the youngest visitors to the Agnes monastery i.e children of pre-school and younger school age. The thesis will be divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part will briefly introduce the personality of Agnes of Bohemia, her life, deeds and legends, the history and construction development of the St. Agnes Monastery and its use as a refuge for the Poor Clares, Dominicans and Minorites, the burial place of the important Přemyslids and, last but not least, as one of the objects of the National Gallery. Furthermore, this part of the thesis will acquaint with the potential of educational programs as assistant with the interpretation of historical figures, monuments and works of art, briefly introduce the history of the National Gallery and outline the educational programs that are currently being implemented in the Convent of Agnes. The aim of the practical part of the diploma thesis will be to create an educational program called Monastery Criss-crossing and describe the process of creation from the idea itself through implementation to the final reflection. Brno Villa Quartet and Their Gardens Potential

The presented diploma thesis "Brno Villa Quartet and Their Gardens Potential" follows four villa gardens in Brno that are currently open to the public. It presents individual gardens and observes their changes and use over time. Brno Villa Quartet refers to four Brno villas that were built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. These are the only private houses accessible to the public as part of cultural heritage. The work asks the question to what extent gardens are used as a space for presentation of villa buildings, or the space is presented as a monument of garden art. It is a comparison of individual gardens and their presentation in the category of self-service tours, tutored activities, accompanying seasonal events and the use of modern technologies. The second part of the work is more focused on the garden of Villa Stiassni. After the description of the garden, a draft guide text for the garden of Villa Stiassni is presented. This syllabus will become the basis of new guided tours. With help of a lecturer's explanation, the garden is treated as a monument of garden art. Villa Stiassni, under the management of the National Monument Institute, will thus be the first house in the Brno Villa Quartet to offer visitors guided tours focused on the garden.
