Contacts betweeen family and school on elementary school
Lívancová, Šárka ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Viktorová, Ida (referee)
Diploma thesis discusses the communication between family and teachers, especially the specific aspects of this interaction considering small schools. The communication between parents and teachers is one of the important parts of coordination of parents and school. Communication can be divided into direct, represented by f a c e - t o - f a ce contact between parents and teachers, and indirect, which comprise telephone conversation and other messages delivered by the pupils. This t h e s i s focuses on the direct type of communication. It aims to describe s p e c i f i c forms of direct communication in context of s p e c i f i c traits of r e l a t ed environment. We assume, that the village environment, which is common for small schools, doesn't suffer of anonymity of large cities, and that people in this environment generally have closer contacts with each other. Small schools are schools for 6 to 11 years old, o f f e r i n g only the primary level of education, for which the higher rate of p a r e n t - t e a c h e r i n t e r a c t i o n is typical. In these small schools, the primary education has the p o s s i b i l i t y to preserve i t ' s autonomy, and it i s n ' t influenced by the secondary level education, which appears to be dominant, when the both levels are combined. Last but not least...
Aggression and self-esteem
Fleischmann, Otakar ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Duplinský, Josef (referee) ; Langrová, Jana (referee)
In the research we focus on problems of self-esteem and aggress. The aim was to discover and describe if by university students an important relation between self-esteem and aggress exists, if there are some differences in self-esteem and aggress between women and men and individuals with pedagogical and non-pedagogical professional polarization. The self-esteem was followed on different levels- general, low, medium and high level as well as aggress levels. Besides general aggress we followed the relation of self-esteem towards physical aggress, verbal aggress, hostility and anger. The results confirmed among others the presumption about relation between self-esteem a'id aggress, especially between self-esteem and hostility. The results of the research also subsidize the presumption about an existence of significant difference between women and men in self-esteem and aggress, they do not subsidize the presumption of difference between groups with pedagogical and non- pedagogical professional polarization in self-esteem and aggress. The Motivation of Graduates and Their Relationships to the Future
Částková, Ivana ; Pavelková, Isabella (advisor) ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (referee)
This final paper focuses on high school senior's motivation and their future time perspective. I will attempt to describe the students' motivation in general, not only their educational motivation. I will endeavor to ascertain such things as if the students can already envision their future education and profession; and, if they are more ambitious about their career versus raising a family. This paper has two sections: the theoretic and the research. The theoretic component describes the adolescent and early adulthood periods of the students' lives. It also discusses most of the major changes in their life at this time. This section will also concentrate on the students' perception of time. I wrote about the historical perception of time and the theory of motivation, and analyzed how they are related to the behavior and motivation of juveniles. The emphasis is on the perception of psychological time and the subjectivity of time. I also relate the main concepts of life-span psychology. The theoretic part functions as the crucial building block for the research section. The research was done February to March of 2006 in Prague. I chose students from four high schools and students from university preparation courses from an individual preparatory institution as samples for my research. I used questionnaires as...
The influence of school on pupils with hearing impairment
Kratochvílová, Kristina ; Duplinský, Josef (referee) ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (advisor)
A change of a school and its influence on pupils with grave hearing impairment is the topic of this thesis. For these pupils, a transfer to a different kind of school (i.e. from an ordinary to a specialized one or vice versa) can be a source of serious consequences influencing their entire personality. Many things differ at these schools - the environment, the type of communication, the classmates. A child that is integrated to an ordinary school is usually the only hard-of-hearing pupil in the school. On the contrary, all the students at a specialised school are similar and the teachers are experienced in treatment of such children. Specific needs of disabled students are met in communication and the whole process of education. The disadvantage of these schools is that they are only in big towns and children from distant villages and towns are often at a boarding house during the week. The aim of this thesis is to describe how a change of school was retrospectively perceived by those who had experienced it themselves. I have focused especially on the following areas: how the respondents went through the change of a school, how they felt at both schools and how the change has influenced their identity.
Position of a pupil within the clasroom on elementary school
Kadlecová, Eliška ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (referee) ; Viktorová, Ida (advisor)
The focus of the thesis is in the relations among children in a classroom. It examines the position of a child in the social group of a classroom on elementary school. The theoretical part of the thesis describes, according to literature, a school classroom and pupils from the psychological and sociological point of view. It engages in psychological development and socialization of child of this age, the school as a social institution and other factors of influence on relationships among the children and last but not least, it introduces cathegories of the position of a pupil in a group. Further point of the theoretical part of the thesis is also an inquiry into a classroom as whole and into a particular pupil. The last topic of the theoretical part is intervention and its methods. A practical part follows. Its aim is to find the social positions of individuals in a particular classroom and the relations the children have there. In the period of one year, I was watching pupil's behaviour in two particular classrooms - third and fourth year - of an elementary school in Barrandov in Prague. For the research I used the method of observation. For achieving the objectives of the thesis I used a sociometrical test. The results of the research are elaborated in table charts and graphs. The information found shows...
Group discussion analysis
Slavík, Radovan ; Smetáčková, Irena (referee) ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (advisor)
The presented thesis is focused on oral discussion in small groups with supervisory leadership. There have been many researches in social psychology made during last 50 years concerning discussion in groups of various sizes and under various conditions. Several studies have reported the use of the group discussion situation as an aid to select candidates for positions involving leadership, but just a few, if any of them were situated in school environment. As a main tool of our research we used an educational computer game Europe 2045 where each student represents a leader of member state of the European Union (EU) and the class therefore represents the EU as a whole. During the game, students were able to present drafts for policy changes to the EU for which they needed to find enough support among other players. This was to be achieved by the diplomatic discussions where each student could present his or her opinion on the subject and try to persuade others to join his or her cause. Thanks to this we managed to observe groups of 16 to 22 secondary school students in the age of 16-19 years discussing a wide variety of political subjects. Some of the problems discussed were controversial (e.g. legalization of prostitution, smoking prohibition etc.), some quite abstract (e.g. the president of EU, the...
Integrative Validation
Janečková, Klára ; Goldmann, Petr (referee) ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (advisor)
The main focus of this thesis is Nicole Richard's Integrative Validation approach which has been developed specifically for patients suffering from dementia. The aim is, firstly, to give a comprehensive description of this approach which previously in the Czech Republic has been neither applied nor described in detail, and secondly, to look at its theoretical foundations and evaluate its practical implications for patient care. Integrative Validation is described as a non-pharmaceutical holistic approach to patients suffering from dementia with the principal aim of improving the lives of these patients and of dealing with the problematic behaviour of patients suffering from BPSD (Behavioral and psychological Symptoms of Dementia). The approach makes use of the so called interviews in Integrative Validation which are conducted between carers trained in Integrative Validation and patients suffering from dementia. These interviews are based on several basic principles: carers endeavour to understand the experience of patients, to mirror their emotions and, whenever possible, to come up with solutions. By contrast, carers should not attempt to bring disoriented patients back to reality, confront them with their disorientation, interpret their behaviour, take what they say literally nor distract them from their...
Using analytical - intervention methods in Low - Threshold establishment for children and youth
Filípková, Zdena ; Šotolová, Eva (advisor) ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (referee)
The topic of this work is the application of the group programme PROSLUCH for preschool children, which deals with auditory perception component areas stimulation within individual conditions, and it's use as a part of afternoon activity of children at nursery schools. The theoretical section defines the auditory perception as a set of sub skills, and it describes the areas that can be included in auditory perception. It also concerns the auditory perception diagnostics, the description of the auditory perception difficulties, and the question of re-education. Within this section also a training programme for pedagogical staff is mentioned. The practical section describes the PROSLUCH programme in more detail. The gained data are compared, and the findings are analysed. The outcome of the work is the countercheck, and the application of the mentioned programme in the individual form, and also the possibility of integrating the programme into school education programmes.
Influence of alternative teaching styles on social climate in the classroom
Dvořáková, Eva ; Duplinský, Josef (referee) ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (advisor)
In the theoretical part of my graduation theses I occupy myself with the questions of the social climate of the class and with the alternative education, its history, function and its connection with the quality of social climate of classes, which are directed by the given style of education. The research part results from the investigation done at four types of school, which are working by different School education programs, finding out the social climate of the classes at this schools and searching connections between the climate of the classes and the pedagogical ideas, from which the school education program results.
