Coping with Stress in Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

in English: This diploma thesis is focused on parents coping with the burden of having children with autism spectrum disorder. It's goal is to analyze parent's strategy to cope with such burden in relation to taking care of a child with autistic spectrum disorder. Thesis is constructed as an emprical qualitativeresearch which also involves quantitative data. Data were acquired via half - structured interviews with parents of children with autism spectrum disorder.Furthermore, a questionnaire SVF 78 "Strategy of stress management" was used and filled out by the parents. The data were subsequently qualitatively analyzed and interpreted using content analysis. Finally, a comparison to specialized literature was performed. The text of the thesis itself is composed of three parts. First part includes theoretical solutions that are based on both Czech and foreign literature concerned with autism theory and coping with stress of parents bringing up an autistic child. Second part is focusing on the methodology and data analysis procedure. The final third part is dedicated to the interpretation of interviews and discussion results, combined with results of available literature research. Sexual identity in adolescence growing up in an orphanage

This thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical section is devoted to adolescence, identity, gender identity and issues in formation of sexual identity in foster homes. The empirical part describes the process of research and summarizes the research results. The research was conducted in qualitative way. For this research was created semi- structured interview. Data were processed in several ways: non-parametric tests, Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney rank test; descriptive ways of creating a category or simple description of the phenomenon. The attention of research was mainly focused to the characteristics of a woman, men, boyfriend/girlfriend, me, mother and father. The results show differences between the experimental and the control group, especially in some characteristics relating to oneself within partnerships, award-winning fact to be someone within the relationship, the negative elements in the social representation of "Me". The research gives an insight on the issue. Its qualitative nature reveals the characteristics mentioned by respondents, rather than to seek confirmation of relationships. This bachelor's thesis occupies itself with relationship between significant adults and development of adolescents. Theoretical part describes basic characteristic of these relationships, social development of adolescent, fundamental concepts and selected outcomes of relationship. In the second part is presented my research project. This project is focused on basic characteristics of these relationships in Czech republic and possible connections between these relationships and academical self-efficacy.
How do people cope the divorce of their parents

The aim of this work is to identify what helped young adults during their childhood to cope with stress situations, which was for them the divorce of their parents, what their coping made worse, how they look on that situation with the passage of time and whether they already feel balanced with it. In the theoretical part are the key issues the divorce and coping strategies. Attention is focused especially on experiencing and coping with divorce by children. For coherence of this topic this part also touches the short-term and long-term impact of divorce on children and family structure after divorce. The empirical part is based on a qualitative analysis of 12 interviews with young adults who experienced parental divorce during childhood. For data evaluation is used thematic analysis. The results revealed protective and risk factors that correspond with the findings mentioned in scientific literature. Keywords: Divorce, family, psychosocial stress, coping strategies
Children's attitude to seniors and the potential change in the interaction with them

This paper focuses on attitudes children hold towards the elderly and the potential effect intergenerational programs might have on them. The author investigates the general definition of attitudes, their structure; how attitudes evolve and develop; which factors influence attitudes and effect they have. We present the different forms children's attitudes take and the methodology used for their identification and measurement of their extent. The latter section is dedicated to to the observed changes in attitudes. It describes the mechanisms of change, the different ways attitudes can be modified and specific conditions necessary for these changes to take place. The last part of this study identifies specific intergenerational programs as potential means of changing general attitudes and stereotypes. These programs are categorised in order to point out those, which have especially positive effects on changing children's attitudes towards the elderly. The implications of this study point towards a specific proposal for further research in this field, which involves a specific intergenerational program. Analysis of the educational needs of pupils with behavioral problems

My bachelor's thesis is entitled "Analysis of the educational needs of pupils with behavioral problems". It iconsists of a literary survey of the field and a research proposal following the conclusions of the theoretical part of the work. Last mentioned is divided into three parts. The first one is dealing with educational needs of students (meaning needs of all pupils). The second one defines a group of students, which we refer to as "students with behavioral problems." And the third part analyzes their educational needs. Results of mentioned parts imply the need to focus on creating an school environment, which will prevent behavioral problems of pupils. Depressive symptoms in elderly people and their possible reduction in interaction with children

5 Abstract: This bachelor thesis is focused on depressives symptoms in elderhood and possible impact of interaction with children on these symptoms. The elderhood and its psychological characteristics are described in theoretical part. Afterwards the thesis describes depressives disorders in elderly, their prevalence, etiology and prognosis. In this part there is also one chapter about screening of depression in elderhood. A big part of this thesis is focused on protectives factors which can protect elderly people against depression and the most mentioned factor are social support and contacts with people. This information is followed by a chapter which deals with interaction with children and its benefits or possible risks during the interaction in intergenerational programs. The last chapter of the theoretical part is focused on some intergenerational programs. The outcome of the thesis is research proposal which would try to evaluate intergenerational programs which exist already in the Czech Republic and the research should answer the main question of this bachelor thesis if the interaction with children can reduce depressives symptoms in elderly people and/or protect the elderly against them.

František Jira Supervisor: PhDr. Lenka Morávková Krejčová, Ph.D. ABSTRACT This work focuses on problems of dyslexia in the adult population, especially among university students and graduates, and explores the possibilities of its assessment. The starting point of the thesis lies in its theoretical part, which first introduces the topic of dyslexia on a more general level (concept, definition, incidence, causes, symptoms, theoretical approaches to the study), second considers dyslexia in adults (psychosocial context, unoiversity study, work, family, common life) and finally talks about possibilities of dyslexia assessment in the adult population (detection of dyslexia in the process of psychological evaluation, selected methods for the diagnosis of dyslexia in adults in the Czech Republic and abroad). The empirical part of this thesis bases the basic idea of the research project on the theoretical background of the first part. Participants in the study were university applicants, students, and graduates. Teachers: burnout syndrom versus engagement and professional enthusiasm

The thesis is dealing with the problematics of burnout syndrome and engagement in teaching profession in different types of schools and grades. Its objective is to detect the degree of burnout in a selected sample of teachers and map the main determinants of contentment related to engaged teachers. The theoretical part defines the concept of burnout syndrome, its development, progress, signs, causes and diagnostics. It clarifies the development of burnout in teaching profession. Furthermore, it describes the key characteristics of engagement, the diagnostic methods and the relationship between teaching and engagement. The empiric part has two goals: to find out the degree of burnout in teachers and depict the essential factors which contribute to their engagement. The research was based on questionnaires and interviews and answered the research questions. The results are presented in tables and graphs. In conclusion, there are some suggestions how to lower the risk of genesis and growth of burnout syndrome.
