STOCHASTIC MODELING OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS
Pospíšil, Tomáš ; Kohoutek, Josef (referee) ; Beneš, Viktor (referee) ; Franců, Jan (advisor)
Práce je věnována generování náhodných struktur dvousložkových vláknových kompozitních materiálů a statistickým metodám analýzy náhodnosti těchto struktur. Byly vyvinuty čtyři algoritmy a vygenerované struktury byly statisticky porovnány s reálnými daty.
Wireless sensor network
Beneš, Vladimír ; Pavlík, Michal (referee) ; Bohrn, Marek (advisor)
The bachelor thesis describes the design and implementation of wireless sensor network for temperature measurement. Network have to meet requirements for multi-hop network-type. That means, the sensor unit is out of the range, information about the measured temperature will be transfer between sensors. The sensor that is in range of the control unit will retransmit data from multiple sites to the main device. The sensors and the control unit are controlled by a microcontroller and a battery-powered for better mobility. The transfer of measurement data uses free zone for short-range devices - 433 MHz.

Generating Code of Optimised Mathematical Operations
Beneš, Vojtěch ; Horáček, Petr (referee) ; Čermák, Martin (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with creating a simple programming language for working with mathematical operations. Main point of the thesis is to create a compiler of this language, which is using MMX technology to generate instructions of an assembler code. The optimized code generation is based on modified algorithm of context generation.
Syntactic Analyzer for Czech Language
Beneš, Vojtěch ; Otrusina, Lubomír (referee) ; Kouřil, Jan (advisor)
Master’s thesis describes theoretical basics, solution design, and implementation of constituency (phrasal) parser for Czech language, which is based on a part of speech association into phrases. Created program works with manually built and annotated Czech sample corpus to generate probabilistic context free grammar within runtime machine learning. Parser implementation, based on extended CKY algorithm, then for the input Czech sentence decides if the sentence can be generated by the created grammar and for the positive cases constructs the most probable derivation tree. This result is then compared with the expected parse to evaluate constituency parser success rate.
Proposal to Extend the Investment Portfolio of the Sector-focused Stock Hedge Fund
Beneš, Václav ; Galečka, Ondřej (referee) ; Rejnuš, Oldřich (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the design of an appropriate expansion of the investment portfolio of a hedge fund investing in shares of companies in selected sectors. It specifies the legal and theoretical aspects of the functioning of the hedge fund in the Czech Republic and analyzes the shares of the individual companies, which then compare and evaluate on the basis of predefined criteria. It includes a proposal to extend the investment portfolio, which contributes to raising the value and profits of the fund.
VAT Refund from EU Countries
Doskočilová, Veronika ; Beneš, Václav (referee) ; Kopřiva, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on the issue of processing the application for VAT refund for fuel in the selected company. Another pillar of the work is to address the decision-making process of purchasing fuel in selected EU countries, taking into account VAT Refund Institute. All outputs of the thesis are applied to real problems in the selected firm and serves for its use.
Business Plan for Development of Company
Doskočilová, Veronika ; Beneš, Václav (referee) ; Heralecký, Tomáš (advisor)
The master's thesis is focused on the creating of business plan for the development of company, building storage hall, which it will use commercially. First the thesis describes the theoretical background related to the solved problem. The thesis analyses the current conditions of the company. The implementation of the business plan should be improved the economic results of the company and ensuring its future development.
Modeling and statistics of random tessellations with applications to the study of microstructure of polycrystallic materials
Seitl, Filip ; Beneš, Viktor (advisor)
Filip Seitl Modeling and statistics of random tessellations with ap- plications to the study of microstructure of polycrystallic materials We present a parametric statistical methodology for analysing a Laguerre tessel- lation data set viewed as a realization of a marked point process of generators. We study the dependence of the marks and the point process in detail. Further, we suggest two general models. The first one is based on marked Gibbs point processes and leads to a broad class of Gibbs-Laguerre tessellations. Under mild assumptions we prove the existence of the infinite-volume Gibbs measure. Then the choice of energy function for applications is discussed in detail. The sec- ond model is hierarchical, where in the first step the point pattern is modelled and in the second step the marks are modelled conditionally on points, using exponential family models based on geometrical characteristics of the tessella- tion. Statistical tools for the parameter estimation, model selection and fitting are suggested and implemented. We apply our methodology for a 3D Laguerre tessellation data set representing the microstructure of a polycrystalline metal- lic material, where simulations under a fitted model may substitute expensive laboratory experiment. 1
Carotid Artery Stenosis
Svoboda, Norbert ; Beneš, Vladimír (advisor) ; Peisker, Tomáš (referee) ; Herzig, Roman (referee)
The basis of the doctoral thesis consists of three studies focused on the diagnosis of carotid stenosis. The first study examines the histological structure of carotid plaques and their relationship to clinical manifestations. The study included 269 patients with 280 analyzed plaques. Multiple logistic regression demonstrated a significant association between symptomatic stenosis and foam cells (OR=1.9, p=0.03) as well as plaque thrombosis (OR=3.5, p=0.02). A significant correlation was also found between symptomatic plaque and unstable plaque according to the comprehensive AHA plaque classification (OR=1.8, p=0.03).The second study addresses the accuracy of carotid stenosis diagnosis using digital subtraction angiography (DSA). Carotid stenosis was measured on DSA and histologically processed plaques obtained during carotid endarterectomy in 644 patients. The study did not establish a correlation between the findings on the histological plaque and DSA (correlation coefficient of 0.22 for ECST and 0.20 for NASCET). The last study focuses on the analysis of the biomarker of oxidative stress (malondialdehyde, MDA) as a predictor of unstable carotid plaques. The study involved 35 patients. Patients with asymptomatic carotid stenosis and those who experienced amaurosis fugax had significantly lower...
