Possessive Adjectives as Expressed by Lower Secondary Pupils

This thesis deals with the topic of possessive adjectives in the expressions of older school-age students. The aim of the thesis is to determine whether and, if so, how students form possessive adjectives and how their usage competes with the use of possessive genitive. A secondary goal of the thesis is the proposal of original didactic material based on the results of the research investigation. The theoretical part is primarily defined by the concept of possessive adjectives, including chapters addressing non-standard or more difficult forms, such as possessive adjectives formed from foreign proper names or productive dialectal forms with a fixed suffix -ovo. In the theoretical part, the author also draws from professional articles that touch upon the topic of the thesis. Besides the morphology of possessive adjectives, the syntax is also addressed. The theoretical part concurrently describes possessive adjectives in curricular documents, didactics, and, last but not least, in textbooks, which were surveyed through descriptive analysis. The practical part consists of an analysis of 110 essays written by 7th-grade pupils in which the author examines the usage of possessive adjectives or possessive genitive. The Integrated Teaching of Czech Language in Lower Secondary Schools

This thesis deals with the topic of integrated teaching of Czech language in lower secondary School. Its aim was to find out the possibilities and limits of the implementation of this teaching. The data were collected through action research at Na Rohu1 Primary School where the author of this thesis taught three eighth grades' classes for whole year. For more than a year she designed lessons for these classes based on the principles of integration of the components of the Czech language, constructivism, and the communicative principle. These are documented and reflected in this thesis. A secondary goal of this thesis was to observe the possibilities of conducting independent action research in mainstream settings and at a regular elementary school where it could become a means of professional development for teachers. The theoretical part of this thesis is based on the chapters dealing with the mapping of different conceptions of Czech language teaching and the current situation in the Czech Republic and abroad. These are followed by chapters dealing with the principles that were used to determine the principles for the development of individual lessons. Selected Dialectical Phenomena in the DIALEKT Corpus and Their Presentation in Teaching Czech

The topic of this thesis is an analysis of chosen dialectical phenomena in the DIALEKT corpus and the possibilities of its presentation in Czech language lessons at high schools. The theoretical part focuses on the introduction of Czech National Corpus' spoken corpora, mainly on the DIALEKT corpus and its characteristics, however, it pays attention to foreign dialectical corpora and map applications as well. Afterwards, the distinctive phenomena of South Bohemian and West Bohemian dialectical region are described, the analysis of the data in the corpus is focused just on these two regions. The practical part is approached didactically and it consists of exercise suggestions focused on the chosen dialectical phenomena which should serve as a presentation of regional dialectical features. The aim of the thesis is to introduce the DIALEKT corpus and mainly to show, with the help of the exercises, how it could be used in Czech lessons.
Czech Textbooks of Reading at the Elementary Stage for the Deaf - from Century 19 to 21

The Bachelor's thesis characterises Czech textbooks of reading at the elementary stage for deaf pupils from the end of 19th century up to the present day. The attention is paid also to the methods of teaching reading, the issue is put into context of methods of educating deaf pupils. The first chapter covers the methods of teaching reading in general and inclusion of these methods in education of deaf pupils. The second chapter is dedicated to the history of teaching the deaf with an emphasis on teaching reading, it outlines the connection between teaching reading, teaching correct articulation and teaching the Czech language in different historical periods. The third part describes textbooks of reading at the elementary stage from a formal and a content point of view as well as the methods used and teaching techniques. The last part of the thesis summarizes general characteristics of textbooks of reading at the elementary stage for the deaf as well as the connection of these books to teaching the Czech language to the deaf pupils.
Czech language in deaf children's lower secondary education

Presented bachelor's thesis is focused on problems of teaching of Czech language to deaf and hard of hearing students on lower secondary education. The first part of the thesis provides general description of hearing impairment, communication options for deaf and hard of hearing people and basic information on educating deaf and hard of hearing pupils. Next part is focused on teaching of Czech language to deaf and hard of hearing pupils containing listing of available materials, description of differences between educating a pupil who prefers Czech language in communication and pupil who prefers Czech Sign Language. It also define language competencies in written speech of deaf and hard of hearing pupils. The goal is to call attention to very small number of universal research works focused on language competencies of deaf and hard of hearing pupils, pinpoint the current deprivation of teaching materials for pupils who prefer Czech language in communication and prepare a suitable worksheet for pupils who prefer Czech languege based on the gain knowledge.
Comparison of teaching Czech language at a traditional and an alternative upper-secondary school

The thesis compares methods and forms of Czech language teaching at secondary grammar school and Waldorf lycée. The first part deals with the theoretical basis of traditional and alternative education, whereas the second part focuses on their practical implementation as methods and forms of work. The observed lessons are analysed and the results of traditional and alternative approach are contrasted by a test. The aim is to ascertain whether the alternative school implements its principles into methods and forms of language teaching and whether they are more effective than the traditional ones. The thesis concludes that the alternative school implements only a few aspects of alternative education resulting in more active and engaged pupils. The education of children and pupils with visual infliction

TITLE: Teaching Czech of children and pupils with visual impairment AUTHOR: Magdalena Čechová DEPARTMENT: Department of Czech language SUPERVISOR: PaedDr. Simona Pišlová, Dr. ABSTRACT: Bachelor thesis is focused on teaching the Czech language of children and pupils with visual impairments. The aim is to clarify the specifics of the education of children with impaired visual perception and introduce methods to facilitate their learning. In the first part of the development of care for the visually impaired, described their progression in the education literature and presented to interested persons may bring the issue closer. The second part focuses more practically, describes learning opportunities for visually impaired pupils today, gives particular examples of textbooks and teaching aids and a questionnaire determines the possibility of using the proposed new equipment. In this work the method was used interview, observation, questionnaires, excerpts.
