Míšková, Michaela ; Císařová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Vanduchová, Marie (referee)
Legal protection of the victims of domestic violence In my thesis I focused on such a sensitive and very actual topic as domestic violence, especially from the perspective of existing legislation on protection of victims and also from the perspective of possible approaches to the possible solutions of this phenomenon. Despite the development of the legislation in recent decades the occurrence of domestic violence is still a major problem of modern society, mainly because of the fact that it usually takes place in private situations between the offender and the victim in a domestic environment "behind the closed doors" and the concerned persons are usually in close relationship. In my thesis I tried to focus on the phenomenon of domestic violence mainly from the perspective of the victims and their legal protection. I tried to define domestic violence by defining the necessary concepts, and also from the perspective of existing legislation of this phenomenon, including a description of previous development. In the introduction to my thesis I pay particular attention to the description of the characteristics, types and forms of domestic violence, its usual consequences. I also describe the victimological aspects and focus on the concepts of "victim" and "offender". Marginally I also describe...

Píbilová, Anna ; Frič, Pavol (advisor) ; Hejzlarová, Eva (referee)
1 REPERTOIRE OF INTERPRETATIVE FRAMEWORKS OF HELP FOR THE VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLANCE Abstract This thesis analyzes domestic violence theoretically and supports the hypotheses through empirical data. The Framing Theory is being widely used as a theoretical starting point and it is employed mainly to study the mobilization of social movements and organizations. A list of objectives of the theory is provided, usage of micromobilization processes is explained. This part concludes with a critique of the theory. A description of the current situation and solutions of domestic violence with a focus on the Czech Republic follows. The empirical component provides semi-structured interviews with three public sector professionals and two non-profit organizations, followed by an analysis of public statements of another non- profit organization. Both sectors perceive the current system as functional. They indicate the main problem is a lack of public awareness, including victims of domestic violence, and propose solutions to the problem. The disputes over the frames are hidden, and they are probably not realized by both of the sectors. The non-profit sector define the domestic violence more broadly and more about making change on a social level, not just individual.
System to help victims of domestic violence
Tůmová, Nikola ; Hanušová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Zvírotský, Michal (referee)
In the submitted thesis I focus on domestic violence issues. In the theoretical part, I outline these issues based on a bibliographic research; I specify a basic classification of domestic violence, its development, and the current situation in the Czech Republic. Further, I deal with an analysis of the victim and offender personalities and present a valid legislative framework. Last but not least, I present a list of selected organisations providing support for the persons at risk of domestic violence and principles of their work with such victims. In the empirical part I focus on an analysis of the methods of work and cooperation among selected supporting organisations and this based on interviews with their representatives. After reviewing all the obtained information, I present a proposal aimed at an improvement of the work with domestic violence victims. At the same time, I propose a task that is to be developed as a project by secondary school students within primary prevention; the project is aimed at familiarization of students with the correct and adequate procedures applied by workers from the organisations providing support for domestic violence victims.

The issue of domestic violence and awareness of students of the University of South Bohemia in the Czech Budejovice
DIVOKÁ, Iva
This diploma thesis is focused on a domestic violence. This topic was chosen to find out wether or not the students of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences and Faculty of Economics at the University of South Bohemia have the appropriate knowledge about this topic. The thesis consists of the theoretical and the practical parts. In the theoretical part, we can find a comprehensive overview of the issue of domestic violence. It is focused on the different forms of violence, the personality of the offender and the victim. One chapter is dedicated to organizations that provide help to victims of domestic violence. There is also given a recommendation on prevention, which helps to avoid many things. In the research part, my goal is to find out the differences in recieved information about the issue of domestic violence from the students of the aforementioned faculties. Two hypotheses related to the goal of the thesis were chosen. In the first one, it is believed that the students of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences of the University of South Bohemia have more information about domestic violence than the students of the Faculty of Economics of South Bohemia University. In the second one, it is assumed that the students of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences know the organizations that the victims of domestic violence can turn to, the students of the Faculty of Economics do not know these organizations. Based on the statistical evaluation via chi quadrate test, I managed to confirm both hypotheses. In conclusion, it is clear from the results that the students of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences have extensive knowledge about this issue. Students of the Faculty of Economics have heard about domestic violence, but greater knowledge about the issue has not been proven. They responded quite differently to various types of questions compared to health and socially oriented students. My work could serve students from different faculties to obtain more professional information about domestic violence issues. At the same time it could be used as a suitable source of information for clients of intervention centers, but also for the general public.
Domestic Violence from the Perspective of Students at Faculty of Health and Social Sciences of University of South Bohemia
TUZOVÁ, Aneta
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of domestic violence. At present, we speak about domestic violence more often, however, education is always a significant benefit, because stereotypical assumptions still remain in our society. They are often one of the obstacles which result in the impossibility to eliminate this socially pathological phenomenon. In the theoretical part of the thesis I describe the current status, forms, signs, progress, and the most common myths and prejudices of the public on the issue of domestic violence. In conclusion of the theoretical part I focus on prevention of socially pathological phenomena, and helping the victims. For this diploma work were established the following three hypotheses: H1: "Students at University of South Bohemia perceive the aggressor as the initiator of domestic violence." H2: "Students at University of South Bohemia perceive the aggressor as an uneducated person." H3: "Students at University of South Bohemia are convinced that domestic violence is more frequent with another ethnicity." In the empirical part I characterize the selected group. The research involved a total of 512 students. They include 450 women and 62 men. They were the students of Bachelor's and Master's study programmes of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences at University of South Bohemia, in full-time and extramural form of study, and different age categories. The research was lead by the method of quantitative research, using a questionnaire survey with the semantic differential. Students had the opportunity to write down their positive or negative view of the victim and the offender or to remain impartial. The aim of the thesis was to find out the opinions and attitudes of students attending Faculty of Health and Social Sciences at University of South Bohemia to the victim and perpetrators of domestic violence. Most commonly, the students perceive the victim as a submissive, introverted, timid woman, who is not satisfied with this situation. They perceive the perpetrator as a dominant individual, who tends to jealousy. The stated hypothesis H1 has been confirmed. Hypotheses H2 and H3 have not been confirmed, and as a result, the alternative hypotheses have been accepted.
