Alena Tichá and her contribution to the voice education of the primary school children with lower music aptitude

The aim of the diploma thesis is to research the contribution of a prominent music educationalist PaedDr. Alena Tichá, PhD., who specialized in primary school children with lower music aptitude in her music education metodology. The thesis is focused to gathering basic information about biographical, bibliographical, theoretical and psychological-pedagogical characters which will not only lead to clarification of Alena Ticha's contribution and her methodology of vocal education and working with non-singers, but also to formation of a theoretical scope of our own research into this branch. The theoretical scope is focused on Czech musical and pedagogical fellowship and its awarness of Alena Tichá's singing methodology as well as on possible practical experience of respondents with this methodology when working with non-singers. In the first part his life, his activities in musical educational organizations and teaching at universities in the Czech Republic are described. Development of musical imagination of pre-school children during their musical activities

The theoretical starting point of the thesis focuses on the contemporary concept of the development of personality and musical preschool values. It brings closer the psychological and physiological mechanisms of the connections between musicality, personality structures and dynamics in the ontogenetic development of the child before its entry into elementary school. It aims from the field of musicality into the essence of musical imagination and ideas shaping the association. In the practical part a partial deduction of the theoretical background down to the methodological level is carried out. It deals about eroding the syncretic perception in the context of changes in abstraction from the illustrative factuality, (eg. the characters, colors) to non-illustrative factuality (music notes, graphic signs rhythmic articulation and movement melodies). Developing creativity of pupil at the primary school through notation software

In today's fast changing world, global development of information and communication technology significantly affects many fields of human activity including music and education. As a result, questions concerning effective using of modern technology in musical education have become a major topic within the pedagogical community. Presented dissertation thesis examines utilization of notation software as a modern teaching tool. The software was specifically used to further improve musical creativity of pupils at secondary school (grades 6 to 9). The very first part of the thesis focuses on research framework, contemporary musical technologies, and available notation software tools. A special attention was drawn to MuseScore software that was used in the research. Last but not least, this part of the thesis outlines vital facts connected with musical creativity field of knowledge. Second part of the thesis is dedicated to author's research and starts with determination of project scope, goals, and basic working hypothesis. The actual research was carried out in several phases with subsequent real-life verification of acquired results. Contribution of Ladislav Daniel for school music education

The thesis deals with personality and contribution of professor L. Daniel for school music education. In the introduction is analyzed Daniel's life and activities, which as a professional in his discipline devoted after all his life. The research part of this thesis provides information on the investigation. The thesis contains findings that were obtained on the basis of qualitative research. The aim of this research was to determine the musical public awareness about Daniel's work and the application of his methods in practice. For qualitative research were elected beginning teachers and teachers from practice in the field of music or graduates of teacher training for primary schools with extended specializing in music education. The results of this research can be an inspiration for further reflection on the application of Daniel's work in practice. Music Performance Anxiety and Its Prevention in The Education System

Music performance anxiety (MPA) is one of the most frequently reported problems among music students and professional musicians. It can potentially cause severe performance impairment and distress. Possible contributing characteristics are low musical self-efficacy, low self-esteem, inadequate preparation and previous performing experiences. The aim of the theoretical part of this study was to explain the phenomenon of MPA from various perspectives and with all its manifestations; to describe its psychological, social and educational contributing factors and to offer an analysis of coping strategies that could be used in the education system. The aim of the research project was to investigate the relationship between MPA, self-esteem and self-efficacy; to examine possible differences in the levels of MPA, self-efficacy and self-esteem between music students studying in three different higher education institutions, and to determine whether such differences could be attributed to their different educational experiences. Absolute Pitch: Theoretical Concept and Practical Issues

The thesis aims at complex assessment of absolute pitch both theoretically and practically. It describes the functioning of ear and main issues related to processing of sound and tone height. In addition, it clarifies related terms stemming from musical psychology. Especially, it endeavours to identify causes of absolute pitch and factors which form it. The thesis surveys several phenomena connected with absolute pitch, for example with synesthesia, and with other aspects such as occurrence of absolute pitch among population. It uses not only the Czech but especially English written literature which has not yet been used in such a scope in the Czech musical research.
Project: Pre-school aesthetical education "PAE"

The main topic of this diploma thesis is project called Pre-school aesthetic education "PAE", which is tought at Elementary Art School. In theoretical part are generally explained terms aesthetic, aesthetic education and their brief history, current possibilities of aesthetic education in selected Elementary Art Schools and characteristic of PAE project. Research part focus on acquisition of the project in education at Elementary Art Schools, effectiveness in the selection of artistic field in pre-school age and at least suitability of including this project into the School Education Program of other Elementary Art Schools. For the research were used empirical methods (observations, questionnaire, interviews). Overall results of research are based on comparison and evaluation of the answers from all respondent categories. These results show positive evaluation of PAE, which suitably fills the pre-school period of children with meaningful activities, which are connected with comprehensive development of personality.
