Coping flexibility in persons with schizophrenia

The topic of this bachelor thesis concerns coping flexibility in persons with schizophrenia. The goal of this work is to present a summary of the current findings and to allow for better orientation in the topic. Our topic has not been extensively covered in Czech academic literature. The literature review section concerns the theoretical background of the terms coping and coping flexibility, as well as the mechanism of choosing a coping strategy. Furthermore we, in general terms, introduce our readers to schizophrenia. Furthermore, we discuss coping flexibility in persons with schizophrenia. In the empirical part of this thesis, we introduce a research proposal, which would allow us to test coping flexibility in persons with schizophrenia and asses the preferences in coping among this clinical population. We propose the use of several questionnaire methods for coping flexibility assessment, namely the Strategies of coping with stress, or Stressverarbeitungsfragebogens (SVF - 78), Ways of Coping Checklist/ Ways of Coping Questionnaire (WCC/WCQ) and the Coping Flexibility Scale - Revised (CSF-R). Effectiveness of online interventions for people with compulsive sexual behavior disorder

This bachelor thesis introduces the newly recognized diagnosis of Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder and maps available online interventions targeting it. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the disorder itself, including its aetiology, prevalence, ICD-11 diagnostic criteria and treatment options, and explains the concept of online interventions and their types. The second part is a systematic review which provides detailed information on existing online intervention programmes and available data on their effectiveness. The third, empirical part presents a proposal for a quantitative study on the effectiveness of the Czech version of the Hungarian-Swiss programme Hands-off, which should enhance the current knowledge on the effectiveness of low-threshold online intervention programmes for people with Compulsive Sexual Behaviour Disorder and provide first data based on clinical population from the Czech Republic. Based on all findings, the thesis presents recommendations for the implementation of a similar intervention programme in the Czech environment. Utilizing the Potential of Gifted Pupils for the Benefit of the School Community and Themselves

This Master's diploma thesis discusses utilizing the potential of gifted students for the benefit of the school community and themselves. The author's intention is to find out how schools work with the potential of gifted students. The main goal of this thesis is to discover the opportunities provided by schools to gifted students so that they can enrich their school, wider community and also themselves. The thesis focuses specifically on the development of social and emotional skills of gifted students, which could represent limits to realizing their potential. Also, the forms and methods that are used in selected schools to realize the potential of gifted students. The theoretical part of the thesis provides basic information that forms the initial framework of the given issue. The empirical part presents the conclusions of qualitative research, which included four schools from different regions of the Czech Republic. Data were obtained through a semi- structured interview and analyzed using via interpretive phenomenological analysis. The results of the research allow look into the deeper contexts on the development of gifted students' potential. They convey the lived experience of research participants and provide an insight into how selected schools work with gifted students in practice....
School maturity and preparedness from the point of view of speech therapists

This diploma thesis focuses on school maturity and preparedness from the perspective of speech-language therapists. The theoretical part focuses on the preschool child, his characteristics, and growth in all areas, including speech. Furthermore, it introduces speech disorders in preschool children by describing what impaired communication skills are and also discusses the most common speech disorders among preschool children. The thesis also presents information about speech therapy prevention, stating what its principles are, and also introduces preschool education in the context of speech therapy prevention. The last chapter deals with the child's preparation for entering the first grade, explains the difference between school maturity and school preparedness and introduces school immaturity and school deferrals. The practical part is prepared with the help of a qualitative research investigation, where a structured interview with open questions was used. The ontogenetical beginnings. The application of Merleau-Ponty's philosophy on early development psychology

This work wishes to present the possibilities of phenomenological interpretation of world and development of infant. It utilizes the philosophy of Maurice Merleau-Ponty for this goal. It analyzes the ground for phenomenological philosophy in psychology and presents in main features the philosophy of mentioned author. It shows contemporary psychological view on ontogenetical beginnings of perception and it reflects these psychological ideas from the position of Merleau-Ponty's philosophy. It stresses the necessity to clear up the character of infant's world at all, before we start to explain its individual aspects. In a key part, this work deals with philosophical interpretation of developmental "beginnings" and it postulate the early development as a "looking for home" in a world. At the beginning of this process, there are other people. In the conclusion this work discusses methodological consequences of this conception for ontogenetical psychology.
Use of drama in children's folklore group

This thesis deals with use of drama in a children folklore group. The main aim is using of drama in education of children and creation of production. Another aim is to find out what advantages drama brings to children folklore group. The thesis also deals with a structure of a heterogeneous group of children (children of different ages) and with a role of a preschool child in such group. In the theoretical part there are mentioned basic terms such as folk culture, folklore, children folklore and folklorism. Methods and aims of drama are also introduced. It deals with the connection between drama and children folklore group. In the experimental part there is described a project which studies possibilities when using drama in a preparation of production in particular children folklore group. Possibilities of using drama for production preparation were shown. The outcomes of the project enable us to say, that drama is useful during creation of production and even in production itself. It brings nature to children manners in production. Different ages of children have been beneficial - younger children were taught by the older ones.
