Regularization properties of Krylov subspace methods
Kučerová, Andrea ; Hnětynková, Iveta (advisor) ; Kučera, Václav (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to study and describe regularizing properties of iterative Krylov subspace methods for finding a solution of linear algebraic ill- posed problems contaminated by white noise. First we explain properties of this kind of problems, especially their sensitivity to small perturbations in data. It is shown that classical methods for solving approximation problems (such as the least squares method) fail here. Thus we turn to explanation of regularizing pro- perties of projections onto Krylov subspaces. Basic Krylov regularizing methods are considered, namely RRGMRES, CGLS, and LSQR. The results are illustrated on model problems from Regularization toolbox in MATLAB. 1
The influence of physical, social environment and parental views on the quantity and composition of play behaviour in children.
Rzepecká, Michaela ; Špinka, Marek (advisor) ; Kučerová, Andrea (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on identifying the main external factors that influence the quantity and diversity of playful behavior of children. The thesis deals with active, outdoor, spontaneous, motional and interactive game, both in individual and social form, i.e. play between children and between children and adults. The work provides an overview of the physical, social and parental views on the children's play on the number of children's outdoor games. It is also possible to link the motivation of a child to a free outdoor game with selected external factors. Last but not least the work demonstrates the methods used to measure these three factors. The research proposal is derived from the findings in the first part of the thesis and seeks a comprehensive view of this issue. It focuses on verifying the impact of the immediate physical environment (forest, street, playground, etc.), the availability of these places, the social influence that includes siblings, friends and parents who normally play with the child and attitudes of parents (letting the child to play alone outside, the importance of free game in general) to motivate the child to a free outdoor game. This is going to be surveyed through a semi-structured interview.
Model of the original family as a determining factor for starting a romantic relationship in the population of adolescents
Follerová, Noemi ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor) ; Kučerová, Andrea (referee)
The model of the original family has a major influence on the personality development and the psychosexual role of an individual. These forms of transferring in form of imitation appear at the beginning of a child's life. A child is born into an environment which is shaped by both mother and father equally. Their partnership is a primary interpersonal experience, it determinates the first years of a child's life and forms child expectation from interpersonal relationships. Findings in this area show that in many features we cannot behave differently from how our parents have taught us. Identifying with their role is the easiest way for us, especially if the characters of our parents are impressive and their mutual relationship is a positive example to us. Their parenting style and their emotional engagement influence the child's perception of its parents. A parent of the opposite sex is the child's pre-figure which is the key to choosing a partner for life. Research in this area is rather an exception, which may be due to the changing nature of relationships in adolescence. The first partnerships occur during adolescence. However, some studies show that the adolescent view on partnership has the characteristics that are expected by adults as well. It has been found that this view is also influenced...
Teacher's social competences and its development posibilities
Rejžková, Marie ; Gillernová, Ilona (advisor) ; Kučerová, Andrea (referee)
The bachelor thesis Teacher's social skills and the possibilities of its development are concerned with the topic of social skills in relation to the teacher profession and with the methods by which these skills can be effectively developed. The aim of the thesis is to describe in particular what the definition of social skills is, how they are reflected in the profession of teacher and what the possibilities of their development are. The literary overview section therefore deals with defining the concept of social skills, their specifics in the teacher's profession, and the possible risks of a reduced level of social skills of the teacher. In the research proposal, the thesis deals with the comparison of selected methods of social skills development among secondary school teachers, grammar schools and the second level of elementary schools.
Selected aspects of motivation for parenthood
Geuss, Hana ; Horáková Hoskovcová, Simona (advisor) ; Kučerová, Andrea (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to identify some of the motives for parenthood - especially the most frequent ones. These motives are divided into groups and analysed. With respect to the trends in last decades, where the decrease in birth rates has been reported and parenthood is often being postponed, the thesis aims to cover changes in importance of the motives in comparison to the past. The first part of the thesis consists of six chapters. The first chapter con- tains definition of the term motivation, the second one deals with a brief overview of family forms, nature of parenthood and position of children in the past, whereas in this part some aspects of motivation for parenthood are already introduced. A part of this chapter is also a discussion of parenthood development and related topics in last decades. The next chapters deal with groups of aspects of motivation for parenthood, i.e. the biological, econo- mic, social, emotional and miscellaneous ones. The second part is a research proposal. The proposed research deals with changes in motivation for parenthood during the part of life in which many people become parents. The research proposal counts with addressing a lar- ge group of respondents and subsequent statistical analysis of the received data. Keywords: motivation, family, parenthood
Professional and lay psychology of education of children in the family
Kučerová, Andrea ; Gillernová, Ilona (advisor) ; Mertin, Václav (referee)
The thesis aims to find out the general public's views on raising children within the family, and to compare it with selected psychological research. The theoretical part is a review of several studies over recent years dealing with a child's upbringing in a family, selected so as to reflect the views of the general public, specifically parents, and responds to these themes from a professional point of view. The empirical part attempts to explore the values, attitudes, and opinions of parents on key educational situations, using a questionnaire method. The thesis investigates current trends among parents' child-rearing methods within the Czech Republic, and compares them with the current findings of modern psychological research on education in the family.
Development of children's drawing and fields of application
Kučerová, Andrea ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor) ; Šírová, Eva (referee)
The bachelor's thesis seeks to examine children's drawing development and fields of application. The first chapter describes children's drawing development from two perspectives: the changing attitudes towards the child as an artist and a time-line of research into children's drawing. Second part of the thesis contains fields of application of children's drawing in therapeutical approaches to art therapy. Finally, practical part offers a research proposal, which aims to survey therapeutical approaches to art therapy in the Czech Republic.
Vodní režim blatkových borů na Třeboňsku a vodní provoz jejich dominant
Kučerová, Andrea ; Pokorný, Jan (advisor) ; Laiho, Raija (referee) ; Albrechtová, Jana (referee)
The thesis was intended to fill the information gap in the ecohydrology of the Pinus rotundata dominated peatbogs in the Třeboň Basin Biosphere Reserve, Czech Republic by studying various aspects of their water régime (i.e., transpiration of the dominant tree species, soil water chemistry, retention ability). The study is based on regular monitoring of the water table, water discharge, soil water chemistry and precipitation (during 1995-2000, study sites Červené blato and Žofinka peatbogs). Additionally, the transpiration of adult Pinus rotundata trees was measured in the field during 1999-2000 at the experimental plot in the Červené blato peatbog (330 ha, 465-475 m a.s.l.). Nowadays, the Pinus rotundata-dominated peatbogs represent almost natural (peaty) forests inside of otherwise human-made forest plantations. Long-term vegetation changes after natural disturbances such as windstorms, insect infestation and fire are only occasionally reported for the central European natural forests. Therefore the evaluation of vegetation changes after disturbances, typical of boreal forests, and their impact on peatbog hydrology has also been included in this thesis (study site Žofinka peatbog, 130 ha, 470-475 m a.s.l.). Transpiration of the central European endemic tree species, Pinus rotundata Link, was...
Importance of Metformin in the Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Kučerová, Andrea ; Vlček, Jiří (advisor) ; Šmahelová, Alena (referee)
Importance of metformin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus Mgr. Andrea Kučerová, Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Faculty in Hradec Králové, doctorate thesis, 2010 Metformin is biquanid which, during its therapeutic use, has undergone a period of perdition and fall followed by again rising up to the imaginary pharmacological-therapeutic summit when it became a "gold standard" in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Currently, it is recommended by the professional authorities abroad and in the Czech Republic as a first choice drug after determination of diagnosis together with diet and physical exercise. How these recommendations follow and reflect the diabetological prescription situation? What prevents the physicians-prescriptors from implementation of the recommendations into their daily practice? The aim and subject of this thesis is the issue of therapy of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) by means of oral antidiabetics (PADs) with a special focus on the decision mechanisms of selected prescription groups of physicians. A historical development of metformin must be reminded in the theoretical part of this thesis in order to better understand and substantiate these prescription habits, and furthermore a development and changes of its position in...
