Banks and their role in the economy of the Czech Republic

The subject of this diploma thesis is the characteristic of banks and its role in the economy of the Czech Republic, the introduction of core bank activities and products as well as analysis of significant bank products, such as building savings. The first part presents the functioning of bank system, the central bank and commercial banks. The second part deals with the principles of building savings, development and evaluation of the most important changes in building savings in the Czech Republic. In this thesis is also comparison of the building saving in Germany, Austria and the Slovak Republic, and there is outlined potential future development of building savings in the Czech Republic. The conclusion summarizes the most important findings about the role of banks with special focus on the analysis of building savings.

Key words: insurance, pension insurance, pension company Annotation: The thesis describes insurance products focusing on the pension insurance. The first part deals with the term insurance and describes its various types. The other parts concentrate specifically on the pension insurance of Czech Republic. The thesis presents information about these products from the time of their implementation until present with main focus on the second and third pension pillars. It gives a thorough description of these two pillars supported with up-to-date information and the analysis of their possible future developments. The end of the thesis summarizes and evaluates the most important facts and data acquired from the survey on the use of these insurance products.
Freedom of speech and its limits

This diploma thesis deals with freedom of speech and its limits. Freedom of speech as the fundamental right which is necessary to proper functioning of a democratic state where the law rules. In this regard the freedom of speech has to be protected properly. Protection in Czech legal order is entrusted with the legal regulation of the major legal force, part of constitutional order, "Charter of fundamental Rights and Basic Freedoms". Freedom of speech as we know it today, was expressed after the Second World War as a prevention of similarly devastating conflict in the future. Certain desire for the free dissemination of ideas we can see in a deep histor when firs attemps of gaining freedom of speech was closely connected to religion. In the 19th century, when the freedom of denomination has found its stable place in the statutes of the most European countries, the freedom of speech has become to be undestood in connection to the freedom of the press, that was the only communicatory media. During the 20th century, when the humankind all over the world witnessed the appalling horror of wars the strict protection od human rights became necessary. Transformations of childhood and education in Czech countries

The diploma work is concetrating on childhood development and it's dependency on spreading and improving in educational system. The work would give an interpretation how education had influenced the period of childhood in the past in Czech countries. What effect had education on childhood duration and quality. The work has chronological system from the beginning of education in Czech countries (monarch St. Václav) to the end of rule Joseph II. Individual chapter give interpretations about education and childhood in each historical period of time and bring near picture of an evolution from given time. At first each chapter presents development in education and then intent on the childhood. First chapters are concentrating on childhood of individuals, especialy monarch childhood. Continuenig chapters in diploma work are generalizing aristocrat childhood and later on common people. The final work is comparing each period intent on child development of all factors. We can see childhood evolution. The work would attend above all to students from pedagogic faculty as an ilustration how childhood education is connected and how education can influence the childhood.
Controversial Themes in Civics Lessons

The topic of this thesis is "Controversial issues in classes of Civics." In the theoretical part I first deal with goals and contents of Civics subject from point of view of different curricular documents. I further address the definition and meaning of the words controversy and controversial. I determine basic conditions the issue has to meet to become controversial. In the third section I answer the following question: why it is important to discuss controversial issues at school. I present the answers from four different views - the view of the school, a pupil, curricular documents and a teacher. In practical section I deal with a concrete proposal how to elaborate controversial issues in Civics subject according to Educational Framing Program for Primary Schools. In charts I match relevant subject matter, its concrete application as a controversial issue, pupil's outcomes and key competences a pupil can develop. In the end I consider further subjects and cross-sectional matters relate to a given controversial issue. I follow with basic teaching methods a teacher may apply when dealing with controversial issues. These methods include - debate, discussion, project teaching. Care about soul as basis of selfeducation

The thesis deals with the interpretation of the 'soul care' theme supplemented by the considerations falling within the educational philosophy. The author of the thesis puts forvard three crucial questions as set in the introduction: What is the 'soul care' and what does it include? What would be the possibilities of getting back to this concept in the current times and would this be possible indeed? What role performs the school within the concept of 'soulcare' and what is the teacher's role? The thesis is divided in three parts denoting the comprehension of the concept of the soul in the Ancient times, in the New Age, within Patočka's concept of history and life movements and questioning, dialogue and discovering the sole origin as properties which are vitally important for the soul movement. The 'soul care' is also closely connected with the phenomenon of freedom as the freedom towards something which helps to found us and to form us. The necessity of the 'soul care' update has been gradually occuring and the primary role in such course of education belongs to school as the main contributory.
Protection of basic Human Rights in the African System (Zimbabwe) - and its Comparison with the Continental legal system

The diploma thesis in question attempts to map the African regional system of human rights protection, its basic elements, central institutions and the results of their cooperation. The work aims to find out whether the current set-up is capable of ensuring an effective protection of human rights of the African citizens. The first part of the thesis focuses at the definition of human rights in their historical and conceptual context. For the needs of the comparative analysis, a part dealing with the protection of human rights in the continental legal system follows, together with a suggestion of the "superstructural" options that the citizens of the member states of the European Union have disposal of. The African legal system as the guiding line of the thesis is applied on the case of Zimbabwe. This is where practice shows that despite the existence of a formally existing system under the African union and its institutions, the African region is facing serious human rights violations for which there is no sufficient safeguard. The thesis concludes with the provision of a generalizing comparison of the two regional mechanisms of human rights protection and the application of this area of study in the sphere of education and teaching practice.
Liberal Democracy and Civil Society

This diploma thesis reflects theories of C. B. Macpherson. It is concerned about his visions of democracy as a one-class society, which is formed by constituing liberalism into class divided society. Text pays attention to writters, whose inspired Macpherson, and also aims to analyse other theories of liberal democratic writters who are concerned about problematic of democracy and private property. The most important part of this thesis deals with main critics of Macphersons and his important concepts such as net transfer of power, differencing between the consumer ethics or developmental ethics and so on. After analysing these texts thesis tries the defensibility of Macphersons theory and also evaluates usefulness of this theory for these days. key words: liberal democracy, capitalism, development of human powers, socialism, net transfer of powers, Macpherson
