Vigner, Martin ; Kváča, Vladimír (advisor) ; Hejzlarová, Eva (referee)
The diploma thesis focuses on people who have served their sentences. Specifically, it maps the success in their social integration after release from prison. The theoretical basis of the work lies in the multifactor criminogenetic theories and concepts of social exclusion. Multifactor criminogenetic theories are mentioned as one of the foundations of the penitentiary prediction tool SARPO (Comprehensive Analysis of Risks and Needs of Convicts). This tool is used in the work for better orientation in the needs and risks of people in the process of release. The theoretical anchoring of the work also deals with the problem of recidivism and adaptation after release from prison. And the issue of homelessness in connection with substance abuse and also in connection with crime. Furthermore, attention is paid to the problem of indebtedness, which can complicate the social situation of people after serving a sentence. The factual context of the researched topic is devoted to the causes of the difficult resocialization of released prisoners and to the reasons why recidivists are most often prosecuted. There are also some important statistical data concerning the number of persons imprisoned in the Czech Republic in comparison with EU countries. Attention is also paid to the amendment of the Insolvency Act...

Lacinová, Alexandra ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Dobiášová, Karolína (referee)
The master thesis is focused on policy design identification in relation to trans people in the Czech Republic in the time period 2012 - 2020. The work uses the theory of Social Construction of Target Population (TSKCP) written by authors Schneider and Ingram. The goal of this paper is to describe three main elements of TSKCP: content of public policy, political power of the target population and its social construction. Based on this, the paper aims to classify the target group of trans people according to the typology of the theory used. For the purpose of this paper, five interviews with respondents were conducted and especially statements of experts as well as analysis of public policy documents are the key parts for answering the research question. Next, analysis of more than seventy online articles related to the examined population within the given time frame was conducted, thanks to which the question of how trans people are constructed in the Czech internet media was answered. There were two main kategories as an outcome of this analysis, including a more detailed explanation. The work also brings in its results the identification of benefits and burdens that arise for the examined target population from the legislative setting.
The job of child educators in Czech day-care centres in terms of accountability
Bitnerová, Marie-Anna ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Konrádová, Kateřina (referee)
Marie-Anna Bitnerová The bachelor thesis Summer semester 2021 The bachelor thesis is concerned with the present situation of Czech pre-school care for children from one to three years of age. The research focuses on the job of child educators in Czech children's day-care centres and on their relationships with other participants in such organisations (parents, colleagues, superiors and children). This phenomenon is described using the concept of accountability, which means responsibility for performed services (social connection between two participants, where one participant accounts for his/her services to the other) and through one's own moral responsibility felt towards other participants while working. The research was carried out using five in-depth interviews with child educators of five Prague-based day-care centres. Based on that data set it appeared that child educators seem to feel most accountable for their services towards the children's parents and most morally accountable towards the children themselves. The principle of cooperation appears to be very important in terms of accountability, where accountability takes place through communication, communication leads to trust, trust to cooperation, cooperation to the cooperation of all participants, and this cooperation in turn enables the...
Liberalization of Abortion in Argentina: Implications of the Values Embedded in the Nation's Legislative Power, the Influence of the Catholic Church and the Contrast with the Uruguayan Experience
Quiles Hernández, Alexa Elleny ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Salamon, Janusz (referee)
Legalization of Abortion in Argentina: A Path-Dependency Reading of the Influence of the Catholic Church and the Contrast with the Uruguayan Experience Alexa Elleny Quiles Hernández Abstract Argentina's abortion laws only allow women to access a lawful procedure in cases of rape and health or life threat, and this has been driving women who do not wish to continue a pregnancy into criminal considerations and, in many cases, dangerous and unhygienic environments. The aim of this work is to delineate part of the historical path that has forged the strong relations between the Argentinean State and the Catholic Church since the colonial period and the influence this has had on restrictive abortion rights for women today despite the growing number of demands to legalize voluntary termination. To highlight this influence, this study contrasts the Argentinean experience with that of neighboring Uruguay, a country that successfully legalized abortion in 2012 and which drew an effective division between the Church and the State at an early stage, furnishing a more autonomous environment for the government to respond to citizens' needs. For this, this work takes on Paul Pierson's approach to increasing returns and path- dependency theory and researches and analyzes events, dynamics and factors that have paved...

Moreover, the study also examines whether the current position of street-level bureaucracy in the inclusive education process is well-set and whether the current system settings meet the needs of the recipients of service. The objectives are fulfilled via qualitative research, particularly eight semi- structured interviews with school counseling staff and two semi-structured interviews with NGO representatives, and analysis of relevant public policy documents. Based on the qualitative research among these respondents, it concludes that the work concluded that there is scope for improvement in many ways in the current form of inclusive education in the Czech Republic, especially in staffing, financial support and mutual communication and cooperation among the actors involved.
Undesirable relations in the cosmetic store workplace towards gay emploee: case study of potential discrimination
Walderová, Katia ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Nekola, Martin (referee)
1 Abstract In my bachelors thesis, I deal with the relationship between women and gay men in the workplace, specifically in a beauty store. My research has stemmed from gender theories that is concerned with the ways in which gender and gender roles affect individuals' interpersonal relationships. These theories show that feminine women have positive attitudes towards feminine gay men, a minority group at risk of discrimination and prejudice. Thus, my goal was to determine the relationships and attitudes of feminine women towards feminine gay men in the workplace and elucidate whether the results of this study will confirm gender theories or show the ongoing vulnerability of homosexuals. My second goal was to compare the negative behavior towards this minority group with the legal norms of the Czech republic and see the extent of protection from such behavior. The research method involved a case study compiled by semi-structured interviews with six respondents, composed of five females and one gay male, who work in the beauty store. The interviews were then analyzed by coding. The results show that there is discriminatory behavior, prejudice, homophobia and other forms of bullying in the workplace towards gay men in the workplace. The reason for such behavior may be the fact that gay employees wear makeup,...
