Carbon nanotubes in building materials
Fialová, Barbora ; Bayer, Patrik (referee) ; Rovnaník, Pavel (advisor)
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) has become of great interest for scientists in many disciplines. This study examines the effect of CNTs as nanosized reinforcement for metakaolin–based geopolymer. It was found out that the addition of CNTs considerably affects the compressive and flexural strength geopolymer samples. The influence of CNTs on microstructure was examined using mercury intusion porosimetry and scanning electron microscopy.
Rehydration of alkali-activated slag after high temperature loading
Fialová, Barbora ; Bayer, Patrik (referee) ; Rovnaník, Pavel (advisor)
Ground granulated blast furnace slag is a by-product of the steel industry and is often used in combination with ordinary Portland cement as a binder in concrete. When concrete is exposed to high temperatures, physical and chemical transformations lead to significant loss of mechanical properties. This study aims to investigate the effect of high temperatures and rehydration on the mechanical properties, microstructure and phase composition of alkali activated slag. The results of the research could make an important contribution to decisions made concerning the reconstruction of structures affected by fire. In suitable cases it would be possible to regenerate parts of a structure instead of totally rebuilding it.
Generally binding regulations of municipalities in the field of gambling
Fialová, Barbora ; Rajchl, Jiří (advisor) ; Kryska, David (referee)
Generally binding regulations of municipalities in the field of gambling Abstract The municipalities, as basic territorial self-governing communities of citizens, have a number of rights in the implementation of their constitutionally guaranteed right to self- government. One of these entitlements is also the right of autonomous normative formation, ie. the right to issue its own legislation which is in a separate scope of a generally binding regulations. Generally binding regulations are therefore the laws of municipalities, the main purpose of which is according to the provisions of Section 10 of the Act about municipalities regulating local affairs in the form of obligations. The entitlement of municipalities to issue generally binding regulations is anchored directly in the Constitution and is further specified in the Act on Municipalities. However, the enabling provision for the issuance of generally binding regulations is contained in a number of specific legal regulations, among others even in the law on gambling. Pursuant to Section 12 (1) of the Gambling Act, municipalities are authorized in the form of a generally binding regulations to restrict or even prohibit the operation of certain types of gambling regulated by law. The goal of the rigorous work on the topic of "Generally binding regulations...
Study of Sample Matrix Effect for SIA Determination of Aluminium in Real Samples
Fialová, Barbora ; Sklenářová, Hana (advisor) ; Matysová, Ludmila (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department: Department ofAnalytical chemistry Candidate: Mgr. Barbora Fialová Consultant: Assoc. Prof. PharmDr. Hana Sklenářová, Ph.D Title of Thesis: Study of sample matrix effect for SIA determination of aluminium in real samples This rigorosis thesis represents a continuation of diploma thesis in which spectrophotometric detection of aluminium after complex formation with aluminon based on method described in ČSN 83 0520 part 22 B was studied. During the reaction colour product was formed. The reaction was transferred into SIA system and the reaction conditions were optimised. After that, several real water samples were measured. During the recovery evaluation some effects of sample matrix influencing the determination were found. Identification and elimination of these influences are the aims of this rigorosis thesis. ČSN 83 0520 was used to select the ions, which could influence aluminium complexation with aluminon. In case of common ions testing after completed interference study the influence of these ions for the measurement was studied. We discovered, that the detection is influenced by fluorides, ferrous and ferric ions. Fluorides are present in potable water in a very low concentrations and influence of ferrous and...
Application of the SIA system for aluminium determination
Fialová, Barbora ; Sklenářová, Hana (advisor) ; Chocholouš, Petr (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of analytical chemistry Candidate: Barbora Fialová Supervisor: PharmDr. Hana Sklenářová, PhD. Title of Diploma Thesis: Application of the SIA system for aluminium determination This diploma work deals with determination of aluminium ions in samples of surface water in a sequential injection system. For determination of aluminium ions method described in ČSN 83 0520 part 22 B was used. Determination was based on complex formation between aluminium ions and aluminon. The incurred complex is colored and color intensity is directly proportional to aluminium ions concentration in the sample. In this work spectrophotometric detection was used. Primarily, an optimization of reaction conditions in the test tube was performed. The calibration graph was linear in the range 0.02 - 1 mg/l Al with correlation coefficient R = 0.9932. Also detection limit (LOD = 0.0119 mg/l) and quantification limit (LOQ = 0.0390 mg/l) were assumed. Consequently reaction was converted into the SIA system and optimization of reaction conditions in the SIA system was performed. Calibration curve was linear in concentration range from 0.02 to 0.6 mg/l with R = 0.9971. Deformation of calibration curve in the field of higher aluminium concentrations is due...
The Foreign Policy of John Major᾽s Cabinet (1990-1997). Contribution to the History of the Island State in the 1990s
Fialová, Barbora ; Kovář, Martin (advisor) ; Soukup, Jaromír (referee)
Barbora Fialová The Foreign Policy of John Major᾽s Cabinet (1990-1997). Contribution to the History of the Island State in the 1990s Master's Thesis - the Abstract The master's thesis deals with a period of John Major's conservative government in the Great Britain (1990-1997). Main interest of this thesis is a foreign policies' analysis of the Major's government. Primarily, it puts an emphasis on a development of relationships with the European Communities and later the European Union. Nevertheless, it also deals with the relationship with the United States or with the Commonwealth of Nations. Moreover, the personality of John Major and his impact on British foreign policies is studied. Major's government's domestic policies were influenced by foreign policies and vice versa, the key factors are described in the thesis. The author uses mainly British sources and literature.
