Internal communications in culture
Kravcová, Zuzana ; JEŽEK, Vlastimil (advisor) ; ČUŘÍKOVÁ, Tamara (referee)
Internal communication represents an often neglected part of public relations in both the commercial and the non-profit sector, even though it is exactly internal communication that can considerably affect not only organisation's functioning, but equally its prosperity and development. Lack of information and poorly adjusted processes of internal communication often lead to demotivation, passivity, frustration and lowered work performance of employees. Thus, internal communication does not only express the notion of effective flow of information from superiors to subordinates, it stands for a complex process that aims to clarify employees' attitudes and behavior within the organisation, creating and strengthening the feeling of togetherness towards the organisation and its culture. The following thesis presents the results of qualitative research in several cultural organisations - The City Theatres of Prague, The National Theatre and The Theatre faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague - and reveals how these organisations set and run their internal communication. It is focused on analysing accessible instruments and effective strategies of conducting internal communication regarding specific conditions within organisations in cultural sector.
IMPACTS OF ECONOMIC CRISIS TO CZECH THEATRE
Chrdle, Milan ; LÁZŇOVSKÝ, Michal (advisor) ; ČUŘÍKOVÁ, Tamara (referee)
This master's thesis describes the real impact of the financial crisis on the theatre. Both on the theatre as a discipline, and on the individual theatre groups. In the first part, the work points out the general causes of the financial crisis. It also describes its influence on the economy of Czech republic and associated revenues of the state budget. On the example of Prague's and selected regional theatres, the paper tries to define the impacts of the economic recession, and describes methods how theatres are dealing with an unfavourable situation. One part of the thesis consists of a questionnaire survey carried out among the representatives of theatre subjects, as well as among the audiences. The work deliberately avoids comparisons with the impacts of the financial crisis on other theatres in other countries, as the conditions of their existence are diametrically opposed, regardless of the crisis.

Velichová, Irena ; JEŽEK, Vlastimil (advisor) ; ČUŘÍKOVÁ, Tamara (referee)
The primary purpose of the thesis ?Transformation of the National Theatre and the State Opera from the marketing aspect? is to monitor the process of incorporation of the State Opera into the structure of the National Theatre, putting emphasis on the marketing potential of such process. Evolution of coexistence of the National Theatre with the State Opera sets the topic of transformation into historical consequences and offers the overview of different operational models and cooperation between both institutions. The core of the thesis is a reflexion of the current marketing of the National Theatre and explanation of the meaning and needs of arts marketing in general, especially mentioning the potential of brand marketing. In the practical part of the thesis I present an idea of a campaign for the opera ensemble of the National Theatre and the State Opera. I believe that the thesis ?Transformation of the National Theatre and the State Opera from the marketing aspect? will be an asset to all future readers who should be able to look into the process of this transformation and see it not only as a historically and organizationally complicated process but mainly as an opportunity for the National Theatre to redefine mission and target of its marketing strategy.
Tax issues for theaters
Kolářová, Marie ; POKORNÝ, Jiří (advisor) ; ČUŘÍKOVÁ, Tamara (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the income tax and VAT for non-profit organizations such as theaters. The introductory chapter presents all possible legal forms of operation for a theater. In this context, the changes introduced by the new Civil Code are also taken into account, effective most likely from 1st January 2014. The next two chapters describe the benefits for non-profit organizations as they relate to the income tax and VAT, but also the complicated administrative procedure that is associated with the determination of their tax liability. The goal of this work is to come up with the ideal legal form in terms of income tax and VAT for operators of commercial and non-profit theaters, while taking into account the size of the theatre institution.
Building Cultural Centre
Roubalová, Dagmar ; ČUŘÍKOVÁ, Tamara (advisor) ; HRBEK, Daniel (referee)
Cultural center or cultural house as a building can be found in almost every Czech village. Their operation seems simple, but in practice it looks that like a very complicated question. After 1989 the network of cultural centers was canceled and currently there is no database that would tell the actual list of cultural buildings in the Czech Republic, who are of existing and functioning. Also, now there are rarely built, but very often rebuilt those buildings of cultural centers. These buildings have specific rules, regulations and standards, which are done by the law, its design should be also based on the needs of current and future users, both operators and visitors. Master's thesis summarizes the general and specific requirements that must be taken in building a cultural center and presents a case study on building a concrete cultural center in the suburb of Prague. The main impulse for writing this work is the belief that more attention should be given to this issue. The cultural center as a multifunctional space offering a wider range of programs available to all the population is the first and closest point of contact with the culture of everybody of us. It affects overall relationship to cultural values and is also a place where everyone will have these values to guarantee equal and free access.

Urbánková, Monika ; ČUŘÍKOVÁ, Tamara (advisor) ; SRSTKA, Jiří (referee)
Diploma thesis "Director of the National Theatre - statute development" was primarily created as a historically-explorational work, which helps to look into this inherent chapter of the Czech republic history from a different point of view that is usual. The very core part comprises of the National Theatre statutes, which are described through similar pattern and thus bring natural comparison of this institution evolution. The Diploma thesis begins in the year 1929, when the nationalism of the National Theatre took place, and culminates with the first democratic statute in the year 1993, or more precisely with its novella in 1994. The work is enriched by look into the history of our country, as every chapter starts with a short summary of given time period for easier reader's orientation. Part not to be also missed is formed by legal aspects concerning the National Theatre in selected time period. I believe, that the work "Director of the National Theatre - statute development" will be useful to all future readers, who would like to understand the basic functioning of this organisation and the role of its director over the period of more than sixty years.

FOUNDATIONS SUPPORTING CULTURE
Urbánková, Monika ; Čuříková, Tamara (advisor) ; Srstka, Jiří (referee)
This bachelor thesis on topic Foundations supporting culture was from its beginnings realised with a vision to fulfill several targets. The first one is to simply describe foundation function, as majority of the Czech population agrees with the existence of such non-profit organizations; however they do not know how they work. This fact was confirmed also by a survey carried out during the process of information gathering. The thesis is enriched by another point of view where selected foundations are divided into two categories depending on the way they are financed. The first group is named ?private? foundations, second one ?corporate? foundations. Particular chapters deal with the origins of the word ?foundation?, followed by its history and law in force governing the rules up to concrete examples of well functioning foundations in the sphere of culture. I believe that the thesis Foundations supporting culture will be beneficial to future readers and will enable them to understand the basic principles of foundations and the way they function.
Sponsorship Strategies and the Process of Searching for Sponsors
Rappaport, Barbora ; Ledvinová, Jana (advisor) ; Čuříková, Tamara (referee)
Abstract In this bachelor?s thesis I focus on the theme of sponsorship strategies and the process of searching for sponsors. My primary objective is to describe a sort of a modus operandi or, better still, to offer a ?user?s manual? for applicants who seek sponsorship contributions (gifts), or applicants seeking all-round co-operation with an entity capable of providing such co-operation. Thus, the thesis proposes a sort of a handbook for sponsorship applicants. Although I have enormous respect for reference literature that deals with this topic my thesis is, to a large extent, my own original work because I largely draw on my own experiences of someone operating ?on the other side of the fence?. I have been working at a large transnational corporation for eight years now; it also engages in sponsorship, and I have been responsible for this area of its activity for more than four years. Naturally, I did take into account the views and experiences of colleagues employed with companies of a similar size, whom I meet in the course of my work, and also the experiences of the applicants themselves. My other objective in this thesis, within the scope it gives me, is to provide a brief and understandable outline of sponsorship strategies and functions, both for companies and the sponsored entities. I would also like to help make understanding of this quite complicated issue somewhat easier.
Theatre architecture and its new social functions
Teuberová, Jolana ; Prokop, Petr (advisor) ; Čuříková, Tamara (referee)
Bachelor thesis ?Theatre architecture and its new social functions? in its first half maps the historical development of theatre architecture and defines the nature of theatre space while explaining the importance of theatre performance itself throughout the history. The crucial second part of thesis introduces three contemporary theatre architectural projects - Stadspodium Rotterdam, The Dee & Charles Wyly Theatre in Dallas and design of non realized project of new Ljubljana theatre. Thesis analyses these projects and tries to find common characteristics in their space planning. It is examined whether these properties and principles bear new social functions, or not. Basic criterium for selection of these contemporary projects is openness, transmittance and their consecutive relationship with public space.
