Methodology of using low-temperature plasma to sterilize the wound
Dejneka, Alexandr ; Kubinová, Šárka ; Moravec, J. ; Bezděk, D.
The main aim of the methodology is sterilization of skin surface and wounds in veterinary medicine based on low-temperature plasma. Low-temperature plasma has a non-specific antimicrobial effect and therefore can be safely applied to the living tissue without causing any damage. The methodology describes a solution for sterilization of tissues and wounds with bacterial, fungal or yeast contamination. The method can also be used for antimicrobial decontamination as well as for healing of chronic and non-healing wounds. Methodology presents solutions sterilization of tissues and wounds with potential bacterial, fungal or yeast contamination. The method can also be used for antimicrobial decontamination and promote healing of chronic and non-healing wounds.
Utilization of endophytic microorganisms for growth promotion of Miscanthus
Mrnka, Libor ; Frantík, Tomáš ; Schmidt, Christoph Stephan ; Lovecká, P.
Increased survival and aboveground biomass yield of Miscanthus was achieved due to the inoculation of Miscanthus seedlings by a mixed inocula based on the selected endophytic microbes (bacteria and fungi). Inoculated treatments produced 20-90% higher yield of biomass compared to the controls. Importantly, fungal inoculum increased also production of rhizomes and the same trend was observed in the treatment inoculated by the bacterial mixture. Bacterial endophytes also strongly augmented overwintering of the plants on one of the tested model plantations. Because the price of the inocula production is economically feasible and does not substantially increase the plantation establishment costs we hope for fast implementation of the methodology both in CR and beyond.
Methodology of testing wheat resistance to Fusarium head blight under field conditions
Chrpová, Jana ; Šíp, Václav ; Štěrbová, Lenka ; Sumíková, Taťána ; Palicová, Jana
This handbook brings new conclusions and recommendations concerning evaluation of resistance to Fusarium head blight. The presented findings are based on experience gained from the tests of disease resistance performed in the period 2002-2015, on results of monitoring of Fusarium pathogens (2011 – 2014), available literature and special experiments. This methodology is mainly aimed at increasing precision of tests of resistance to Fusarium head blight which will favourably impact on resistance breeding.

Certified technological procedure of laboratory tests of acaricidal compounds against stored product mites
Hubert, Jan ; Nesvorná, Marta ; Stará, Jitka
The certified technological procedure was developed in order to support Czech national legislation - Act No. 258/2000. The procedure is aimed at the protection of stored plant substrates against infestation of mites (Acari: Astigmata). The procedure includes two tested methods (i) impregnated filter paper test and (ii) population growth tests. The procedure includes novel findings describing the discrimination doses of acaricidal compounds to the mites. The doses are useful for identification of resistance. The described methods enable the comparison of efficacy of different acaricidal compounds as well as the comparison of toxic effect to various populations of mites.

Methodic handbook for conservtion of old landraces of herbaceous agricultural crops
Holubec, Vojtěch ; Dušek, Karel ; Dušková, Elena ; Doležalová, Ivana ; Hýbl, Miroslav ; Kopecký, Pavel ; Smékalová, Kateřina ; Stavělíková, Helena
The methodic handbook recommends management of basic cultivation practices for landraces of herbaceous crops in „on farm“ plantations. The materials were collected during field excursions of authors or gathered from germplasm collections. These materials have cultural-historical value and represent old habits and national identity of Czech inhabitants. Representative landraces were sellected for crop groups: Cereals, legumes, vegetables, condiments and medicinal plants.

Foxtail Millet (Setaria italica L. BEAUV.) suitable crop to the transformative climate in the Czech Republic
Hermuth, Jiří ; Janovská, Dagmar ; Prohasková, Anna
The global climate changes bring a lot of undesirable impacts which will influence the agricultural production in the Czech Republic in the future. Nowadays the drought risks and their impact on the agricultural production have begun to show up very strongly. One of the main solutions might be the breeding and selection of more resistant species or/and varieties which are more adaptable to lesser water availability and which are more resistant to the new climate. This paper would like to present the foxtail millet as a cereal which might be a valuable alternative for grain production as well as for biomass production in less favourable arid areas of our country.
