Šimša, Jan
In the invited lecture the principles of multiuser detectors for code division digital signal transmission and their approximations by suboptimum detectors were explained.

Road detection for mobile robot using image processing
Coufal, Jan ; Štarha, Pavel (referee) ; Krejsa, Jiří (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with image processing for outdoor environment mobile robot. In first part, the problem is analyzed, general solution is proposed and suitable image processing methods are presented. In second part presented methods are tested and methods with best results are proposed. In third part is particular solution tested on real data.

Influence of the satellite spatial resolution and scan time on convective storms'overshooting tops detection
Růžičková, Markéta ; Setvák, Martin (advisor) ; Pešice, Petr (referee)
This paper deals with the possibilities of convective storms' overshooting tops detection as seen from satellites. These tops are characterized by a rapid development, their size is only a few kilometres in diameter and they are connected with the presence of hazardous weather. They can be identified as small clusters of very low temperatures in satellite imagery, but this nature depends on the scan time and the scan frequency of the specific satellite and on the other features presence at tops of convective storm. The temporal variability of minimum IR brightness temperatures at the cloud tops of selected convective storms is studied in this paper, namely on the basis of the Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) satellite datasets. But the main emphasis of this work is to analyse the influence of the operative meteorological satellites' spatial resolution on the minimal IR brightness temperature, which is related to height of the cloud top. The datasets acquired by the sensors SEVIRI, AVHRR and MODIS have been chosen for these purposes. Mostly the convective storms that occurred over the Europe in the year 2008 have been diagnosed. The scan time difference must be taken into account when datasets from MSG and the other polar orbit satellites are compared and this difference should be minimal. The minimum IR...

Detection of weak cathodoluminescence
Horák, Petr ; Schauer, Petr
The major problem of the cathodoluminescent study of poly[methyl(phenyl)silylene] (PMPSi) is the susceptibility of the material investigated to the degradation. The process of degradation causes strong decrease of the CL intensity. Measurement in the synchronous mode can recover signals in the presence of an overwhelming noise and background and can provide high resolution measurement over several orders of magnitude.

Detection of Backscattered Electrons in Low Voltage Scanning Electron Microscopy
Wandrol, Petr
This paper deals with the problems of backscattered electrons (BSE) detection in low voltage scanning electron microscopy (LV SEM). The BSE energy is 3 keV and less in LV SEM. This low BSE energy causes problems with the acquisition of sufficient signal for the image. It is necessary to accelerate BSE and separate SE to obtain applicable specimen image.

Problems of detection of secondary and backscattered electrons in the higher pressure of ESEM in view of the study of water containing specimens
Neděla, Vilém
This work is focused on the problems of designing, realisation and implementation of the new equipments for environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM) AQUASEM-VEGA. These equipments are needful for this microscope and for working in the conditions of the higher pressure in view of the study of non-conductive and water containing specimens. This work is next focused on the study of influence of additive hydration biological specimens by the special agar base.

Study of the contrast mechanisms nonconductive and wet samples in ESEM
Linhart, Jan
This paper deals with the study of the contrast mechanisms of the nonconductive and wet samples in environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM). The aim of this work is interpretation of contrast mechanisms dependent on conditions of the primary electron beam and methods of signal electrons detection and determination of the optimal detection method.

Experimentální zkoumání elektromagnetické aktivity kvasinkových buněk na milimetrových vlnách
Jelínek, František ; Pokorný, Jiří ; Šaroch, Jaroslav
The direct detection of oscillations in biological cells may deliver strong evidence for Fröhlich´s theory of coherent excitation in biological systems. Some results of measurement at millimeter waves published in the literature are mentioned. A laboratory equipment for the measurement of mm-waves excitations in yeast cells is described. The measurement system is controlled by computer and measured data are stored in the computer memory for evaluation. Some results of the evaluation are given.

Detection of frequency noise properties of diode laser working on 729 nm
Pham, Minh Tuan ; Čížek, Martin ; Hucl, Václav ; Lazar, Josef ; Hrabina, Jan ; Řeřucha, Šimon ; Lešundák, Adam ; Číp, Ondřej
Paper report on the frequency noise investigation of the Extended Cavity Diode Laser (ECDL), working at 729 nm. The ECDL will be used as an excitation laser for the forbidden transition in a trapped and laser cooled 40Ca+ ion. For that an Hz of sub-Hz level linewidth is required. We present the experimental design for linewidth narrowing and frequency noise analysis. The linewidth is first narrowed with a phase lock loop of the ECDL onto a selected component of an optical frequency comb where the frequency noise was suppressed with a fast electronic servo-loop controller that drives the laser injection current with a high bandwidth.\n
