MODETA JIHLAVA
Chytilová, Markéta ; Ryška, Zbyněk (referee) ; Dýr, Petr (advisor)
The topic of my Master‘s thesis is an architectural study of the reconstruction and revitalization of the former MODETA factory building, located near the Jihlava Zoo. The building is designed to have multifunctional use for the zoo. The construction program defines the building as a complementary facility to the functional complex of the Jihlava Zoo. The location is near the historical center of the city of Jihlava, along the Jihlávka river. The project was preceded by a pre-diploma project, in which I focused on the design of mobile containers for the Jihlava Zoo. In the building, there will be an animal exhibition connected to the zoo. The new section will be fully functional even in the winter season. You will find here the Water World with an exhibit of a small crocodile - the Dwarf Caiman. There will also be an Orangutan exhibit and a Night World, where mammals will have an opposite regime (night during the day). The exhibit of small monkeys is located on the 2nd floor, where there is also a 2nd observation point for orangutans. You can also observe them from a bridge that connects the building to the zoo. For zoo staff, there is a facility with offices, a workshop, and sanitary facilities. A self-service restaurant with a capacity of up to 150 people on the 1st floor serves both the public and employees, whose facilities are connected to the restaurant. The public will also have access to a congress and exhibition hall, where it is possible to create two separate events or combine spaces by sliding mobile partitions to increase capacity. The halls are connected by elevators and stairs to accommodation on the 3rd floor and the restaurant for refreshments on the 1st floor. Accommodation can be used by the public as well as educational institutions. The IQ Park is located on the 2nd floor, accessible by a separate entrance or directly from the Night World. There will be interactive equipment with animal themes and a screening room with a capacity of 60 people.
Gallery and museum education of Deaf
Marešová, Veronika ; Novotná, Magdalena (advisor) ; Fulková, Marie (referee)
In this thesis I am concerned with gallery and museum education for deaf people. I visited the innovative, interactive Głusza exhibition at the Silesian Museum in Katowice, dedicated to Deaf culture, which subsequently inspired me to design an educational programme for Deaf and hearing audiences. Subsequently, I compared my findings with programmes and opportunities in Prague. I attempted to create a proposal for an educational program for both hearing and deaf audiences. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to highlight an issue that is still marginal in education, to explore the possibilities of gallery education for deaf pupils and to design my own project for lower-secondary pupils of primary school. From this knowledge and professional reflection, I have made recommendations on how to create educational programmes for deaf and hearing audiences and how to improve cooperation between galleries and museums and the deaf.
Exotarium ZOO Brno
Kučera, Jiljí ; Wittmann, Maxmilian (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor thesis is the design of a pavilion for the Australia - New Guinea exhibition in Brno Zoo. The building serves mainly as an exposition and home for exotic species of birds, small mammals and fish. The building should meet all the conditions of buildings for the public, working conditions for employees and animal welfare. The area under consideration is located in the premises of the Brno Zoo, in the northern part of the district of Bystrc. The construction site is located roughly in the middle of the zoo at the crossroads between the Tropical Pavilion and the African Village. The relatively sloping, irregular plot is accessible from the north and east sides by a campus road. The kangaroo enclosure is directly adjacent to the west side, while the bison and camel enclosures are located to the north, across the road. The resulting design consists of a two-storey building that follows the contour line of the site. It is a building composed of two regular masses of rectangular plan. The upper smaller mass is superimposed on the lower larger mass. The pavilion includes indoor and outdoor aviaries, terrariums, aquariums, staff facilities, animal facilities and food preparation. The facade of the Exotarium imitates the red rock typical of Australia. It is made up of an ETICS system to which a moulded polystyrene layer and a painted surface will be added. An extensive green roof with aviaries is proposed on the main building. The design includes a small plaza to provide shade for visitors. Two buildings are proposed within the square - refreshments and public toilets. The bachelor thesis is based on documents in the form of assignment, dwg drawing of the cadastral situation and architectural study from the course BGA036 - Architectural Atelier 5.

The created solution also provides its own system for recording the history of changes in the database. The main task of diploma is creating a sacral object and community centre of Salesians in Brno-Líšeň. A construction of the Salesian complex started in 1998. As a result, the whole complex of institution got to the district of Brno-Lisen with the help of the endowment fund for youth. The Congregation focuses on the methods of educating the youth of Don Bosco, the father and teacher of the youth, the first head of the Salesian. The creation of a church is a very desirable step for the Salesian Center, because Masses are currently being celebrated in the existing building in the gym, where not everything is needed to carry out of the event. The church should be developed in the vicinity of Salesian centre and has to be available for a wide range of societies. The architectural project includes the designing of church, parish building and enviroment. The form and view of the complex suit to this environmental area and react on its entire structure. The object consists of two forms, which are connected by the horizontal communication. In the middle of the Salesian complex, there is a semi-open area. The first object is a church with a capacity of approximately 200 hundred visitors, the second object is a parish building, which perform the functions of administration with multifunction space for the exhibitions, aparmtments and offices for its employees.
