Development of individual language levels in preschool children

The diploma thesis deals with the development of language levels in children aged 5 to 6 years. These are children before starting primary school. At this age, the stage of preschool education and the development associated with it ends. The end of this period is specific in that children are preparing for the start of compulsory schooling. By the end of the preschool period, the child should achieve certain results in the development of language levels. The goal of the practically oriented part of the diploma thesis is to analyze the development of language levels in preschool children. The work is logically divided into two parts. The first of them introduces speech development, defines the pre-school period and delimits language levels on the basis of documents from the specialist literature. These are theoretical knowledge necessary to create a comprehensive picture of the investigated issue. Furthermore, the thesis describes the most frequently occurring types of impaired communication skills typical of this period. The Vocabulary in Children at 2 to 3 Years

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of active and passive vocabulary in children aged 2-3 years. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on defining speech development in children, describing in detail the development and evaluation of vocabulary in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and abroad. Additionally, selected categories of impaired communication ability specific to this age group are described, more specifically, developmental dysphasia and delayed speech development. The main goal of the thesis is to test and evaluate the active and passive vocabulary of children at two to three years. The research is of a quantitative nature and presents the results of testing that was conducted using a newly created test of active and passive vocabulary for children at two to three years.
Development of phonemic awareness in preschool children utiziling the Elkonin method

The topic of the diploma thesis is Training the development of phonemic awareness in preschool children using the Elkonin method. The method serves as a tool for preventing difficulties in the development of reading and writing in primary school. The diploma thesis is focused mainly on the development of phonemic awareness and further on the development of language skills in selected children in a regular kindergarten. The thesis is divided into two parts. To the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part defines the basic terms related to the topic - communication, language and speech, hearing. It introduces the reader to the development of a child's speech from the period of intrauterine development to the age of about six years. Due to the focus of the diploma thesis, the greatest emphasis is placed on the speech development of a preschool child. Speech therapy prevention for the natural development of pre-school children

The bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of (not) using the offer of speech therapy prevention by parents of children with impaired communication skills. The theoretical part defines basic concepts such as speech therapy, speech therapy, impaired communication ability, speech development (risks that may manifest in speech development) and articulation. It relies on available professional sources in the field of speech therapy. The practical part is carried out using the method of qualitative research and contains semi-structured interviews with parents. The main goal is to find out the answer to the research question: "How active is the interest on the part of parents and what is the main reason for parents to seek professional help?" Specifically, it is a research in a kindergarten in South Bohemia.
Development of preschool children with special educational needs.

The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of Development of a child with special educational needs of preschool age. The content of the thesis is focused on children in ordinary kindergartens and kindergartens established under § 16 paragraph 9, especially in speech therapy classes. The bachelor thesis is divided into four chapters. The introductory theoretical part of the thesis focuses on a specific child of preschool age. The second chapter deals with the developmental peculiarities of a child with impaired communication skills. Describes selected disorders of children's speech, including their possibilities of diagnosis and therapy. Another important part of the qualification work is the description of work in a regular kindergarten and in the speech therapy class of a kindergarten. In the empirical part, the last chapter, methods of quantitative research are performed. The main task with the help of a questionnaire survey is the view of pedagogical staff who use the comprehensive diagnostic, compensatory and educational aid Kangaroo's suitcase.
School maturity and preparedness from the point of view of speech therapists

This diploma thesis focuses on school maturity and preparedness from the perspective of speech-language therapists. The theoretical part focuses on the preschool child, his characteristics, and growth in all areas, including speech. Furthermore, it introduces speech disorders in preschool children by describing what impaired communication skills are and also discusses the most common speech disorders among preschool children. The thesis also presents information about speech therapy prevention, stating what its principles are, and also introduces preschool education in the context of speech therapy prevention. The last chapter deals with the child's preparation for entering the first grade, explains the difference between school maturity and school preparedness and introduces school immaturity and school deferrals. The practical part is prepared with the help of a qualitative research investigation, where a structured interview with open questions was used. The respondents consisted of speech therapists working in the health or education department. A total of 12 interviews were conducted. The Specifics of Speech Development in Premature Infants

The diploma thesis deals with the problems in clinical speech therapy and is entitled Specifics in the speech development of premature infants. The theoretical and practical findings are included in the thesis. The theoretical part is devoted to premature birth, risks associated with premature birth and care of premature individuals. It also describes multiple pregnancy, twin pregnancy and twins in terms of their development, education and specific forms of communication. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with child development, speech development and communication disorders. In the practical part, the empirical part, the research methods of the qualitative investigation and its focus are described in detail. The main aim of the thesis and sub-objectives are given. The thesis concludes with a summary of the data collected, which was used to develop a grounded theory. Development of communication ability in children with Down syndrome

The bachelor's thesis, Development of communication ability in children with Down syndrome, is a work of special educational nature aiming to acquaint readers with the issue of communication in children with Down syndrome. The theoretical part is based on Czech and foreign literature analysis and information found in electronic sources. It is divided into two chapters. The first chapter is dealing with communication in general and the development of speech and language skills in intact children. The second one is devoted to Down syndrome, the author is dealing with its definition terminology and etiology. It also elaborates on impaired communication skills of children with Down syndrome, speech therapy intervention and alternative and augmentative communication. The empirical part of this bachelor thesis is included in the third chapter. The diploma thesis is on a special pedagogical topic with a specializatin on the field of speech therapy. In its theoretical part, it summarizes the findings on the development of speech in early and preschool children, also focuses on the connection between breastfeeding and other methods of feeding at an early age, the development of the orofacial system and the development of articulation of individual sounds. The practical part presents research of a qualitative nature. It contains information from interviews with mothers of children who have been diagnosed with dyslalia. Based on the grounded theory, the obtained information was processed and research conclusions were created.
