The life situation of an individual in insolvency proceedings

This bachelor´s thesis is focused on the topic: Life situation of an indebted or over-indebted individual. This final work contains an explanation of the concept of life situation and social functioning followed by a description of difficult life situations. In the introductory chapter there is an overview of debt problems which describes basic concepts such as indebtedness and over-indebtedness, causes of indebtedness, person of the debtor and loan market. Following chapters describe consequences of debts or over-indebtedness and how to help these particular person. Part of this bachelor´s thesis contains also qualitative research was led in a counselling service agency - providing social professional counselling with focus on debt counselling. Based on the detailed analysis and interview with a counsellor, my research has identified effect for such debts or over-indebtedness´s and subsequent solution of bankruptcy in the life situation of an individual. According to the result it can be briefly concluded that indebtedness and over-indebtedness have an adverse impact on the living situation of an individual from economic, social, psychological and health point od view. On the opposite site bankruptcy solution helps to improve life situation of an individual because debt relief brings various benefits.
The development of financial literacy of the youth leaving children's home

This thesis is focused on education of financial literacy of children living in children's homes. It is based on current state of education politics in the fields of financial literacy, the contents of educational programmes and qualitative research of real current state of education of financial literacy in children's homes. The research itself will be made via structured interviews with children from children's homes. The research is focused on discovering the level of financial literacy of older children (15 - 18 years old) permanently living in children's homes, searching for possibilities of improvement of education of financial literacy in children's homes and therefore increasing prevention of social exclusion of young people leaving children's homes due to over-owing which is usually caused by low level of financial literacy. Socio-political analysis of the causes of indebtedness of citizens

The thesis "Analysis of the Causes of Over-Indebtedness" consists of a detailed analysis of issues leading up to over-indebtedness. It also aims to point out the most serious consequences of over-indebtedness. The thesis brings attention to the relation between causes and effects which, in many cases, take the form of the opposite and vice versa. The boundary between cause and effect can often be indistinct, and it is essential to distinguish between the two in order to find a solution for an over-indebted client. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the issue of a loss of income which may lead to over-indebtedness, draws attention to the important role of education in the area of financial literacy, and notes on the most serious consequences of over-indebtedness, which it sees in the loss of housing, homelessness, and other negative effects. The research part concentrates on a social group which belongs to one of the most threatened with social exclusion, welfare applicants. The research attempts to analyse their debt situation in relation to their age, education, housing, unemployment period, willingness to change their situation, and willingness to repay their debt.
Over-indebtedness in the Czech Republic: Problem Analysis and Policy Alternatives

The thesis "Over-Indebtedness in the Czech Republic: Problem Analysis and Policy Alternatives" deals with the issue of over-indebtedness of households with regards to consumer loans, specifically in the Czech Republic. Over-indebtedness is currently a very real and serious issue. The author attempts to tackle what is a relatively complex issue. The objective of the thesis is to demonstrate that over-indebtedness is a significant problem and analyse the myriad factors that contribute to it. Finally, possible solutions to the problem are explored. The author exhibits a variety of data to measure over-indebtedness in addition to determining the various causes, namely individual economic factors, such as sudden unemployment, and financial imprudence, which can be attributed to individual psychology or low financial literacy. Additionally, the unfair and even loan-sharking practices adopted by some loan providers and brokers along with the problematic process of debt enforcement, which contribute to over-indebtedness are described in detail. Over indebtedness of Czech households, its impacts and the ways of its prevention

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of the over-indebtedness of Czech households, its impacts and prevention methods. There are theories of education and consumerist society theories applied as basic theoretical concepts. The thesis analyses the scope and the over- indebtedness ways in the Czech Republic, it describes the causes and the implications of over- indebtedness of households and possibilities or over-indebtedness solution via the form of the debt relief. One of the possibilities how to prevent the over-indebtedness is to increase the financial literacy. The publically political tool used by the state is the financial education within the primary and secondary school systems. There was carried out a research in a particular family struggling with the over-indebtedness within this thesis. There was described the indebtedness origin and the development, the subsequent over-indebtedness and the way how to solve it. It was also described how the education for management of family finances was carried out, what the educational level of the married couple is and what the financial literacy level is. The Amendment to the Insolvency Act (Focused on Personal Bankruptcy)

This diploma thesis deals with the current amendment of the Insolvency Act. It was written by the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic. There is introduce the current amendment focuses on personal bankuptcy. The thesis introduces the legislative process of this amendment. For the identification of the actors was used the theory of advocacy coalitions. It shows their conflict of opinions. Two very different coalitions were defined in this problem amendment of Insolvency Act. Based on expert interviews were identified weaknesses of personal bankruptcy and devided into several groups. The study works with the concept of social stratification. It is used to ilustrate quantitative analysis. It contains the research sample of 91 and it completed insolvency proceedings (personal bankruptcy with repayment schedule). The sample were chosen from the relevant courts in Prague, Liberec region and Ústí nad Labem region. The results have been compared in the context of each area and as a whole sample.

Over-indebtedness of young people in the Czech Republic

The master's thesis "Over-indebtedness of Young Generation in the Czech Republic" deals with over-indebtedness of individuals at the age of 18 to 26 years. Over-indebtedness is a general social problem as all age groups get overburdened with debt. However, it is important to focus on the issue of young people's over-indebtedness directly because the young generation represents people who are or will be active in the general working process. The authoress of the thesis points out the young generation's over-indebtedness and provides an overview of development of this issue in 2008 - 2015. She also examines the most frequent causes which she has found out using questionnaires and data collected. In her work, the authoress also outlines a gradual development of possible indebtedness, which primarily includes loans, from both banks and other institutions, followed by a court procedure and execution of the judgement. A possible solution to over-indebtedness then consists in filing a petition with a court to permit a personal discharge from debts.
