Controlling in the Business Department of the Selected Company

This master’s thesis is elaborated in cooperation with the selected company and is devoted to the following topic: application of management control system in retail department in selected company. The first part of the master’s thesis deals with the theoretical basics to the topic. The second part is devoted to the characteristic and strategy of the selected company. Further there is the analysis of the current state of company’s stores and served retail network. The third part of the master’s thesis focuses on proposals of key indicators of controlling measurement of company’s stores and in the retail network. The end of the master’s thesis deals with proposals of solutions for the future development of the retail department in selected company.

Marketing strategy in ICT company

The thesis deals with the analysis of the company marketing strategy. In order to meet its objectives, it is necessary to evaluate all information on general conditions, the market and competition. Based on prerequisites of the further grow of professional environment, it proposes possible modes of use of different marketing strategies and their means of communication. The economic impact presumption of a proposal with respect to past experience is also calculated in this work.

Proposal of Company Development Strategy

The aim of this thesis is to find an appropriate strategy, which the company should use in the future, This finding gives us a particular strategic and financial analysis. The outcome of these analyzes will be put in a SWOT analysis, where all the data will be summarized in individual points. Furthermore, a decision will be made based on the SWOT analysis, how the company should be run, in other words, we choose the future strategy from the particular SWOT quadrant.

The impact of Brexit on the activity of banks: 2013-2021 country by country reporting data

The withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union marks one of the most important events in recent history. The consequences of Brexit, particularly the loss of passporting rights in the services sector, have had severe adverse effects on British trade because it created barriers and challenges for British businesses to access the EU market and vice versa. This thesis aims to contribute to the existing literature on the impact of Brexit on financial ser- vices, specifically focusing on the banking sector. I use the country-by-country reporting data spanning from 2013 to 2021 to investigate the activity of 44 Eu- ropean banks. Using the turnover of the banks as a substitute for measuring banking activity, I estimate the gravity model employing the PPML and OLS estimators. The results indicate a negative effect of 24% on the turnover of British banks abroad relative to the domestic turnover. This suggests that the loss of pass- porting rights and the subsequent regulatory changes decreased the international operations of UK-based banks. In contrast, EU-based banks experienced 30% higher turnover in partner countries than domestically. 1

The determinants of motion picture box office performance in the Czech Republic

This thesis examines factors influencing box office performance in the Czech Republic. With an original dataset of over 1400 observations spanning 2013- 2022, the thesis explores the impact of the following factors: country of origin, user reviews, production budget, star power, awards, and holiday releases. The ordinary least squares estimation method is used for the analysis. Findings reveal that movie performance is positively affected by Czech origin, user re- views, production budget, star power, and awards. This research contributes to understanding the Czech movie market and offers insights for policymakers, producers, and distributors. Further research opportunities include analyzing sequels' effects, marketing spending, and further clarification of the role of re- viewers. "The State of Emergency": The Contribution to the History of Great Britain in the First Half of the 1970s

Bachelor thesis concerns itself with British economic policy of Conservative Heath government (1970-1974), the process of formulation of this policy during years in opposition 1965-1970 and reassessment of its principles in 1972. The emphasis is put on problematic aspects of the original policy and the analysis of a way how the experience from years 1970-1972 was reflected in the economic policy in years 1972-1974. There is also a scope given to an oil shock in 1973 and miner's overtime ban and subsequent strike in 1973-1974 as they are important factors testing the viability of the new direction of the economic policy. Thesis further examines the effects of the U-Turn in economic policy of the Conservative Party on its position among voters and the position of the leader of the party Edward Heath. Russia's Pivot to Asia: prospects and limits

Russia's pivot to Asia has become one of the highly discussed topics among political and international relations theorists. However, diverse opinions exist on the timeframe of the pivot and on the level of favourable results of the new policies of Russia's turn to the East. Mostly, Russia is thought to be intensifying its relations with countries of the Asia-Pacific region, increasingly since the Western trade sanctions were applied on Russia after the 2014 Ukraine crisis. Academic discussion also revolves around Russia's opportunities and challenges in the region. Progressive cooperation, mainly with China, is suggested due to the growing importance of Asia and its countries: China's rapidly rising economy and military strength has made the country into a candidate for the most important world powers. On the other hand, development and modernisation of Siberia and Russia's Far East region would be necessary for efficient maintenance of any progressive relations with Asian countries. Russia would have to develop its infrastructure in the regions to enable connection and cooperation with China and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Among all potential partners in Asia, China is mostly indicated as the most probable and suitable economic and political partner for Russia in the region....

The key to success of Czech companies

This bachelor thesis deals with four selected Czech companies, which are perceived as successful. The aim of this work is to find out why and in what way were the companies successful and to find in their behavior common factors that contributed to their entrepreneurial success. Due to the subsequent comparison, this thesis could help other companies achieve their success. In the theoretical part, this thesis deals with the essence of success and different definitions of success according to famous personalities. It also describes measurable and subjective indicators that define success. In the practical part, the selected companies are first introduced, and their work and development is characterized. Subsequently, these firms are analyzed on the basis of objective and subjective indicators of success. The information for the subjective characterization is mainly based on personal interviews with representatives of selected companies that have been conducted for this thesis. Finally, this thesis gives a comparison of the selected companies and a summary of how to become successful.
